This game would have worked better if it either solely focused on her or got rid of her all together. I am fine with her being playable only in flashbacks, but I would like those flashbacks to be either longer or more numerous to justify their decision.
* Clementine is still the same regardless: all that 42 different versions of Clem still don't seem to be present. Much like in episode 1, she has about 1-2 lines thrown in for Telltale to say "See, past choices impact Clem," but for the large part, she's still the same. Choices in this episode were handled quite well, but from previous seasons, not so much.

Puzzles in season 1 were pretty terrible imo. Last great series with puzzles was Devil's Playhouse (I enjoyed Back to the future but the puz… morezles were very by the book). I love point and clicks with puzzles, but Telltale lost that luster a while ago, so now I'm just here for a good story and some minor pointing and clicking. Hubs I understand though even if they were a little too frequent in season 1.
It wasn't so much about the puzzles themselves being fun for me. The downtime made the games feel more authentic and real, rather than feeli… moreng like an interactive movie with everything moving so quickly. Also the interaction with the characters where you get to choose what to ask them, choose who to form friendships with and who to form a rivalry with is all gone. The whole politics part of the game has been greatly reduced and is non existant at times.
This, really. I'm all for Javier getting his own story, yay Javi, but that wouldn't be a story I'd buy or play. This was marketed as a continuation, and its been very little of that despite their guest star being the most marketed part of the game. I probably wouldn't have bought the first two episodes the same way I didn't buy episode 3 when I could watch it on YouTube, but TT knew this, and she was prominent in most of the advertising of the game from E3 until release. I have little interest in a side story or a reboot, and ANF feels like both, so I'm kinda disappointed.
This is like the [HUG KENNY] all over again from season 2 for people that loved Clementine except everyone loves Clementine and I don't feel there is a reason to not hug her at all
This is what made me feel like I was watching Season 1 ending again.
I dunno why I'm posting this picture like everywhere. I think it's because it was my favourite moment of episode 3.
Sorry, I feel like I'm going too far. I just think there is NO good reason not to hug Clementine. Otherwise, Javi hugging Clem makes him feel like he is hugging Mariana, you know?
I agree somewhat with what you said....ik what you feel but sorry you are overreacting for this episode...OK FIIINE clem scenes were heart warming but it doesn't change the fact that she is in this story for LITTEL to no fucking reason....everything else is getting better except for my clementine and that's just sad
She's actually the reason most people play NF, including me. If this is the best we're going to get, there's no point in arguing, the best thing to do is just to accept things as they are. Better that we have what little Clem we do than no Clem at all.

Never accept mediocrity, demand greatness. Clem is the heart and soul of this series, no matter how much they try to sideline her. She is the reason most people play, the reason I plunked down 30 dollars for this game sight unseen.
If this is the best they can do by her, fans should hold Telltale's feet to the fire for it.

"And for the 14 % of you who gave up (you know what I mean), be ashamed."
Be ashamed of what? The fact that I'm NOT some Telltale fanboy? Whatever, kiddo you keep on loving mediocrity.

Why would Javier hug a girl he just met, girl who can be determinately betrayed twice and probably has more reasons to stab him rather than hug back? It seemed just way out of situation there.
"I prefer to be alone, I hate people, I hate being close to people, being with other people hurts, it's just me here... What? Hug with a guy whos brother killed the only person that I love? Sure! Bring it in Javi!"
Because she was undergoing a traumatic emotional moment and she needed someone to confide in. Not to mention that Javier is the closest thing she has to a friend. Plus it depends on the player, why would assholes who betrayed her twice even hug her? It's a player determinant scene! And you're still bitching about it!

Amazingly done episode. But yeah, still too short and no hubs to explore.
Nonetheless, i enjoyed this episode. Glad i gave it a chance despite the hate this game is getting. Can't wait for more. So far this is the best episode

I'm not bitching about anything, good sir, I'm expressing my opinion.
I'm trying to show that Javier caring for Clem doesn't make sense. You would hug Clementine because of you, the player, because you love Clementine's character, want her attention or more dialogue choices, generally more screentime. Javier as Javier is another story. Is he a walking huggatron, hugging everyone on sight? Did he hug Tripp when he was talking about his problems? Did he hug Eleanor, Conrad, Jesus? He could easily pat her shoulder or comfort her in any other way if he truly cares for a girl he just met - which I doubt, as he is the middle of intense crisis, he is confused, angry and wants to help his family no matter what. The story about AJ is for the players, not for Javi.

Correction... He does put his hand on Clem's shoulder and it seems to be more her that goes in for the hug, a touching and realistic way it would have happened. It was just put there as an option for US to hug Clem, but it actually played out a bit differently. I agree that it would have been strange for Javi to go straight for the hug.

I really liked this episode, I'd probably put it on par with "A House Divided" for me.
blue
I love the goofball thing...you shush you cynical wench.
Let's not call people wenches, OK?
Metallica... have you... seen the light? Do you understand our struggle now?
Ive just listed most of the reasons above. No its not just because of the lack of puzzles
Fair enough. Like i said, don't let my opinion ruin anything for you
Thank you wdfan

Shut up goofball
Wounda swore she said wrench...
Now I picked the hug option but I almost didn't because I saved Conrad and figured she'd push me away.
I still ship Rhysha, but I do have a slight understanding of where you're coming from, oh glorious founder of Rhyiona.
Never hurts to try, says Michonne.
Why not?
I didn't either, because I'm aware I'm playing Javi and not Lee or myself. But a lot of players just can't branch out.

Clementine isn't co-playable as advertised but at least they're doing her character justice.

Well I don't think of this series as mediocrity. And I'm just saying people should value what they have. It could be much much worse.
I'm not bitching about anything, good sir, I'm expressing my opinion.

Don't worry, neither did I, and I kind of regret it now.
If people don't let them know that they feel something is wrong, it will only ever get much much worse.
Actually, I thought the other guy was dying too, since his eyes looked like AJ's.
I mean, although I gave in and gave it to AJ, I'd rather save a doctor than a baby.

It was like writers went with "we had Clementine hug in S1, S2, so we gotta make someone hug her in ANF".
