Because there is no reason for that. Eleanor and Tripp have things going, as well as Javier and Kate. Having such an option just for the sake of offering a decision would ruin the story.
Excellent point. And even if he was gay, they would still have become emotionally attached in some form or the other—perhaps a relationship with as much weight as a romance.
Honestly they raised two kids for years on their own in the apocalypse, unless Javier was gay it would be sort of unrealistic if they weren't together.
Because there is no reason for that. Eleanor and Tripp have things going, as well as Javier and Kate. Having such an option just for the sake of offering a decision would ruin the story.
I conclude that she was flirting with him back at Prescott, and not particularly looking to dive into a new relationship of her own. It's been some wild days for them as it is.
I wouldn't want Javi and Kate to start a relationship inside Richmond, though, in light of the ongoing political turbulence that directly grip David. Who knows how much he could handle without having the impulse to off himself? And with David out of the picture, it is likely for the raids to continue.
To be honest, after Episode 3, it doesn't really feel forced anymore. One of the few good things this episode offers. Also, there is no reas… moreon for Javier to reject Kate. You only want that option for the sake of a decision, it wouldn't add anything to the story.
There's just too much dialogue about Javi and Kate. I think almost every scene with Kate revolved around being with her. I just want Javi and Kate to talk about other things besides being together. That's why I think it's forced. I don't really care id Kate is clingy, I just want Javi to be more assertive in saying no.
It's not forced. Just don't chose any flirtatious response. It's comprehensible why others would think Javi and Kate are a couple, she is ac… moreting very clingy towards Javier. She seems to feel lonely (understandably so) and probably was never deeply in love with her husband. That's part of her personality. People like these exist in real life, kids.
The problem is there's too much dialogue in them being together. Every time I'm around Kate she was to runaway with me. I understand it's her character, but I wish they would tone it down a little bit. I mean there is has been relationship about Kate with David, Tripp, Eleanor, Kate herself, and Gabe, all in episode 3. I just want the option t say no.
I dont really see what the problem is here, you can rebuff Kate if you want to. Kate however seems to have no interest left in David and is interested in Javier, but go figure, if you dont like it, you cant control the actions of other people

I like kate. The like the way her character's being handled and I don't approve of her behavior though. I also like javier. He's okay. Elean… moreor is adorable and sweet. She's one of my favorites. Tripp's okay. Clem remains my number one and will always remain my number one. Kenny, lee, ava and marianna are below clem but are also my favorite characters. Jesus is cool and aj's cool too.
Honestly thinking about what everyone is saying here, can I just say I don't get it? Outside of Javier saying he does have feelings for her, the whole Kate shipping thing wasn't really a thing in this episode and it's made pretty clear that her concern is more discomfort about being around David and the New Frontier after everything that's happened rather than anything pertaining to Javier himself. Is there a scene/line or something I don't know about?
At first I thought it was just the fact my saves disapeared. So instead of playing again I took the option of starting at episode 3 and let telltale decide what Javi had done. I assumed that the decisions that Javi made toward Kate were romantic because all the characters in ep 3 implied that they thought Javi was with her. It seems that even if I found my prior saves (all of which rejected Kate) I would still be in the same both according to the comments here. She is super unlikable and selfish.
I think some of you are ignoring the strong hints that David was abusive to Kate. We already got hints of that in the first two episodes and this episode even more so. Kate doesn't just want to hop on Javier, she wants away from David. Immediately and without hesitation. It's not so much about being with Javier then it is that she's terrified of David and outright says so. She suggests that most of her marriage with David she was living in some degree of stress or fear and doesn't want to do that again.
Personally I'm fine with the romance and think it makes sense considering the circumstances of the character. But people who are defensive of their bro David and think she's just being a bitch are missing not particularly subtle subtext.
Same, and I agree. It's very clear that this will be the fuel that Joan will use to convince David to support her. That his lil bro has been screwing his wife for years.
Agree. I have played my Javi to reject every advance from her. I want to be loyal to David and my family and I have played that role. I gave… more my word at the beginning of the game.
It's obvious they want to create this division between Javi and David in later episodes and I want no part in it.
That's a bit harsh, but short of runway lights down there. She couldn't be more obvious. That said not sleeping with your presumed dead brothers wife does not make you gay. It might make certain parts of you Blue. The morale high ground typically will. Women can be horrible ppl too. And triffleing with your brother in law makes her a terrible person. I'd risk it in the ZA but I'm a terrible person lol.
Honestly they raised two kids for years on their own in the apocalypse, unless Javier was gay it would be sort of unrealistic if they weren't together.
As much as I respect her desire to restart a new life- and I don't really care if it's with her husband's brother as long as they both consent (considering the husband was... you know, considering dead. And we can tell the outbreak has been out for a while looking at how much Clementine grew up) but as a player who generally avoids romances I really dislike being pushed in that direction no matters what I try to do.
Also, it annoys me that:
1) David is totally taking for granted that nothing changed between him and his wife... or her feelings to.
2) No way to denial it
3) no way to actually, you know, mention it to David. In that I find Javi's behaviour even worse because during the trip back to Richmond he had all the time to mention it.
I kind of excuse her behaviour, thought, considering David was hinted to be aggressive/abusive, if not with the kids at least with her, so I can understand her need to run away. It felt like she wanted to escape from David with Javier or not...
I wish we had a way to 'help her out' without entering a romance...
LOL, it's funny how the game force us to fall in love with her, but I also noticed that Javi had the chance to flirt with Eleanor and Ava (during episode 3)... I mean, kinda.
Nah, Kate's got a think for Javier, but Javi's feelings are determinant. Same with Tripp and Eleanor, he's all dandy about it but we don't know if Eleanor feels the same. From what we know, Eleanor likes Javier, as her relationship was rather open and she did flirt with Javi at Prescott.
Because there is no reason for that. Eleanor and Tripp have things going, as well as Javier and Kate. Having such an option just for the sake of offering a decision would ruin the story.
I don't agree. I think it's completely understandable why she has feelings for Javi and vice versa. If you can't remember, David used to be a total asshole even before the apocalypse. Then he just up and leaves his family behind, admittedly to take his mother to seek help but... He never came back? Never looked for them? Javi stood up and took care of David's wife and children, probably far better than David ever would have.
I have brotherly love for David (for now) but my loyalties are to Kate and Gabe right now. She got a bad feeling from him and this Place right away, well her bad feelings about TNF were obviously correct.
Clementine continuously warns about David. I don't think we've seen the last of his devious behavior. I think TTG are building up our relationship now, to pull the rug out from under us later.
And in all honestly, this is Javier's story, not ours. Yes we make some pretty important choices but if Kate is a love interest in his life (which is 100% understandable. Could be considered immoral, but if Kate doesn't love David anymore, she just doesn't. He never seemed to be a very good husband anyway.) I support it. and if the choice comes down to David or Kate, I'll choose Kate.
She's not always complaining. She's giving her input on a situation that turned out to be just what she thought.
I'm not saying their affair has been right to hide from David. But he will find out, and how he handles that info will determine what kind of man he Is.
Yeah, I'm really not liking this either. They give the player options to reject her, then later act like you didn't. It's quite obvious they want to create drama from this whole "affair" but if that's what the writers want, then go with your pre-established setting. Don't give the player consistent option to act against it if it's not going to matter. It's been shown Kate was already sweet on Javier before the apocalypse... and you could reject her. Then you could continue rejecting her in the present time, thus giving you the chance to play a scenario where this whole thing between them seems to have stayed one-sided. Yet they keep pushing it, Kate doesn't get it even if you choose every possible option to say "No!" and the other characters seem to think you two are romantically involved. They don't say things like: "Kate really cares about you." They say things like: "Oh, I thought you two were... you know..."
I get it that this is how Kate is. She's obviously very interested in Javier and wants out from her previous life and that's believable. She's clingy to him and I get it. However, they keep bringing it up in a way which I'm sure is going to force a conflict, even when you have done everything you can to avoid it. That's what makes it feel forced. You may reject her every time but there's no real option for you to be assertive about it and thus everyone just seems to draw their own conclusion that: yep, they have a secret romance.

Clementines view of David is entirely formed in her believing AJ was dead and despised him for that. When in reality they got him care and he survived. It's possible he lied but I don't see the writers going back and forth THAT much.

I demand the option to NTR Tripp! (not that I'd want to)
There's nothing wrong with asking!

I feel quite similarly in both regards!

Okay, you wanna rephrase that to be a little more understandable for the skimmers pal? Thank you!
To do what now?
Yeah, Eleanor definitely came off sounding like a nice and wholesome medic, but she's actually kinda loose in private.
...Relevant?

No one said its wrong
Yeah, I gave him the silent treatment here.
I don't like this angle of their relationship and don't want to get involved in it.
We're trying, but Kate doesn't seem to get it, and the game sometimes doesn't present you with a choice to.

Kate isn't even that hot tbh. I tried to get with Eleanor but now Tripp is cock blocking me
Because he's having a romantic relationship with Kate (determinant) behind David's back. Immoral doesn't always mean murder.
