Is Paul Going To Kill Eleanor?

In Episode 3, we discover that their group is a oligopoly that consist of 4 members: Paul, Joan, David, and Spinach Guy. As we find out in Episode 3, this structure is unstable and your status of being a leader can be easily over turned in a instant, atleast in David's case.

During the episode, Paul seems to take an interest in the group as soon as he hears that they have a doctor among them in the holding cellar and wants to meet her immediately. Could it be that feels threaten that there is another doctor that can replace him? AMC did something like this in the show where Beth is part of a murder of a doctor that Dawn group found and the current doctor felt that he needed to kill him to insure his stay.

And if Paul plans to kill Eleanor, How would he go about doing it?

  • It's oligarchy, not oligopoly. And the doctor wanted Eleanor for her medical skills. He doesn't seem like he has the guts to kill someone anyways.

That doctor is so fucking weird. I don't know... Not a bad person, probably, but the good ones can screw everything up sometimes, right?

  • Fix your title man. Spoiler!

  • I don't think so. He is a little creepy but I don't think he would kill her. think he was just excited to meet someone with amazing skills since their in a zombie apocalypse and it is rare to find someone like her.

  • He won't kill her, but he, uh... might do stuff to her.

Let's put it this way: stuff that Tripp won't like.

  • I don't think he's a creep so much as he's a stoned and chilled doctor trying to cope with the apocalypse. He reminds me of a cross between Ben,Alvin and Wyatt.

  • .

  • Honestly, the doctor is the probably the only guy I really trust inside Richmond, he seems like he is the most levelheaded person, he was also the one supporting Clem after she stole the medicine (I think?)

  • I honestly read the title as "Is Jesus going to kill Eleanor?", unless I realized that the doctor's name is also Paul.

  • Same here.

  • I shouldn't laugh at this.

  • I wonder why he wants another doctor around him? Wouldn't that increase the chances of him getting caught being high off of medical supplies or at the very least just someone that nags him?

  • That's assuming he still does drugs in the present since he seems pretty sober now. It would be quite beneficial for the entire community to have more doctors especially ones of exceptional skill like Eleanor.

  • "She's a doctor? I'm a doctor? This cannot be allowed to stand!"

    No I seriously doubt that.

  • I'm not doubting that the community wouldn't benefit from two doctors. I'm just saying that the one reason why Paul is a person of high power, haha, because he has a skill that is extremely rare and that gives him leverage to command things from the group. If Paul wasn't a doctor he would be easily booted because he would only serve as a liability because of his drug problem.

I feel that if Paul was to go against Joan in her decision to take over other communities and wants to refuse taking her side, Joan would still keep him alive because he is a doctor. But in that situation and Joan knows about Eleanor, Joan would have no reason to have Paul around and Paul would become disposable or at the very least less valuable.

Another thing to consider, maybe it would be a good plan for Javi and David to kill Paul so Eleanor can take Paul's place as a Leader. That way Javi and David can bargain power through Eleanor's skill as a doctor. Joan would have no choice then to accept demands seeing that their community would need a doctor.
