So far? It's finished. Lol.
But in all seriousness, it's decent. Telltale has made far better games in the past, but the game itself is still good for the most part. I'd give it a 7/10.
In my opinion telltale did an amazing job with the Batman series ! I'm hoping for a season 2 of this game since the end was so questionable about what is going to happen next.
I've only played Episode 1 but I really don't care for the game and I'm not sure I really want to spend more money on it. Usually, I'm all for the games even if they have weak episodes but the lagging was really distracting and I didn't care for the storyline. I'd rather focus on WD:TNF than Batman.
Batman is better than ANF in my opinion.
Its pretty lackluster imho, basically like every Telltale game (apart from Borderlands) since TWAU S1 ended.
They are just milking their formula and its just the same shit every time without any innovation or real effort put into it. The characters in Batman were boring, the story was uninspired and predictable and the choices were a complete joke.
The VA's weren't very good either
4/10
I can't get behind the complaints about voice acting. The whole cast deserve an award.
Story wise there were a few nasty plotholes and the story did not live up to its premise but it was serviceable, I hope Telltale will take more liberties season 2.
I like it. I think it was a well done story, and offers a fresh new look to the Dark Knight's tale. His parents weren't the noble people he always thought they were, Vicky turned out to be a menace, and so much more. I hope we get to play more adventures in Gotham
You're crazy if you think the voice acting is bad. The game and story were indeed middle of the road for telltale though
Writing dropped off after episode 3. The whole CoA plot was disappointing, not enough Vicki development and Harvey/Penguin were too rapidly left behind.
Two villains for a whole season are more than enough.
Season two should be all about Two-Face lusting for revenge on Bruce/Batman and Selina/Catwoman (he is going to learn that the woman Batman chose to preserve and the woman who betrayed him are one and the same) and Joker pitting Batman against his allies somehow, manipulating Bruce/Selina.
There is great potential there.
I think ANF lacks what made the first season so great. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I still prefer it over Batman. Could be that I'm just not that into Batman in the first place, but that never stopped me from enjoying other games that I wasn't particularly into at first. I totally respect your opinion.
I really enjoyed it because of how unique and mature it was with the crime family. When I first heard Telltale was making a Batman game I was expecting it to have Two face as the villain because by the looks of the teaser trailer it looked like they were going with the un obvious choice of Villains. But no they went more un obvious then I thought which is a good thing cause I love Batman year one.
The models for the characters I didn't really like that much, but then again I can understand the look they are going for. I think the suit and tech for Batman was perfect especially the part were they allowed you to choose the color of your tech was mind blowing because I am sure non off us saw that one coming. The suit sort of is inspired by the Batman v Superman movie suit but to me a lot of stuff was inspired by the Batman from Batman v Superman.
Another thing I really loved was how Batman used well known Gadgets that he had used countless numbers of time before in the comics like his grapple gun and his smoke bomb and of course his glow in the dark eyes. So instead of getting out things from his utility belt like a batshield or the shark repellent he used his normal tools that we all know and love.
Now I think that the voice cast was perfect because like look at troy baker as batman, he has been Batman before like 4 times in the games and 5 or 6 times in movies and TV shows so it was a good choice to add him as Batman.
Personally I loved it. The story was a little weak for TellTale, but overall it was good. I really like the fact that you where able to play as both Batman and Bruce; it added a new dynamic to the story. The missions where you could chose to be batman or Bruce were great, and make me want to replay the game to see what happens if I choose the other. I'd give it a solid 9/10
I just finished it and I enjoyed it a lot, just like other TTG titles (Walking Dead 1 and 2, Wolf Among Us or Game of Thrones).
I loved the Jon Hamm's look that these guys give to Bruce Wayne.
...well, maybe this is not the intention, but the resemblance is awesome!!!
The only thing that I hope to be fixed in future releases (I play these games on PS3 and PS4), are the FPS falls... some times the game get stucked and begin to move by "jumps"...
...it's bloody annoying when it happens on action scenes!!! (I remember that this kind of thing happens on other TTG titles).
Hope you fix it, guys... the narrative is not affected for that, but yes the QTE game mechanics.
Anyway: still a good game.
So, I'm ready to face the Joker on season 2!!!
Cheers.
support and customer service suck
We need a season two for all consoles, the season ending for the first part was awesome, and leaves one hanging in the mox, plus we need to see Edward nygma aka the riddler along with his esteemed partner harvey dent working together along with what the joker has in store for batman and Bruce Wayne
The story was only weak as it was just season 1 the story only just begun, I have a good feeling hat we are gonna have more interactions with joker, along with seeing Edward nygma aka the riddler, we may even see richard Grayson team up with batman that's what I'd like to see
i know right!
I gave it really high praise after the first time I played through it, I think I even said it was on par with TWAU (my favourite TTG). Upon reflection I don't think it's quite as good as I made it out to be. Maybe I had rose tinted glasses due to being a big Batman fan.
I don't rate things out of 10 anymore so I'll just say that I got a good amount of enjoyment out of it, enough to make me play through it twice. Not the best, but certainly not the worst either. I would like to see a S2 provided TWAU gets one first haha.
I just finished the game for the first time. Really enjoyed it and liked the story and writing and how it focused on like political matters and whatnot. it was more mature than i expected.
however the "combat" (aka quick-time-events) was really lame and overdone. i want more interactivity in telltale games but in the sense of talking to people, walking around environments, or solving puzzles... not quick time events. the ending fell really flat for this reason.
Also I didnt buy into harveys turn that much. you start the game with bruce already trusting him so i just kind of bought into that idea. but then it turns out harvey is seeing a psychiarist and is in fact a total pyscho.
overall, enjoyable. would certainly play a sequel
I disliked that part where you match the DNA with drug molecule, for anyone who isn't half retarded and actually knows what DNA is that felt really stupid. Overall I liked it.
I thought it was great, personally. Easily one of my favorite Telltale games.
Though, it did have its issues (Episode 4 in particular was incredibly disappointing), and hopefully said issues will be fixed in any future seasons they may make.
In spite of that, I still think it was a pretty solid game. Choices had weight, the characters were fantastic (Though I feel they lacked direction with Selina), and the plot was compelling.
At times, it really felt like it was my story. Yet, at other times, not so much.
Overall, I'd give it a 9/10.
