Please no more Comic characters

I've realised that the Comic Character crossover is a bad idea. Why? Because EVERY character was judging my choices, here are the examples:

  • Hershel Green calls me out for lying to him even when I just told him the truth.
  • Glenn judges your choices of either giving Irene the gun or not, even though he understands why Lee let Irene get the gun.
  • Pete gets pissed off at me for not letting him surrender to Norma (I know the Michonne series wasn't a crossover between game and comic but still)
  • Jesus was trying to make me regret what I did to Badger, he didn't know shit about what Badger has done, he didn't even ask why I gave him a brutal death.

I don't want ANYONE else from the comics to cross over me and criticize my choices. SKIP THAT!!!

  • Wow, I never put that together. Those Comic people are some judgmental pricks, especially since they run around with Rick Grimes of all people.

  • This, except for different reasons. Especially with Jesus, I felt like the comic characters only were there to serve as fan service. None of them (except maybe Pete) had a significant role in the story.

  • Fuck those guys. I don't even want to hear Clementine making an appearance in the comic book.

  • I agree but Lee was still lying to Hershel since he said the cop gave him a lift because he was a nice guy. He didn't say anything about being convicted.

  • Yes. I used to wish game wasn't in the same universe with the comics so we can keep Glenn around but not anymore. Those characters are just there to attract the Comic and/or TV fans just like Clementine is in A New Frontier to attract the old players.

Still, why did he care about what caused his leg wound?

  • He didn't know much about the walkers before Shawn got home.

  • Because they criticize your actions you don't want more of them? Interesting.

  • Well if you don't like you can just stop playing.

  • Yes. It's fucking annoying, just let me live with my choices.

  • I understand you completely and I think the "you can just stop playing" is out of place. The majority of characters are against you no matter what these days.

  • Considering around 6 comic characters have been in the series I think it's pretty obvious it's the opposite.

  • Your choices have ramifications that do shape how characters view you. Kenny,Lily,Carlos,Larry,David,Conrad,Clementine and several others at some point have criticised the players choices and actions. Should all of them just stop appearing because they object to our choices? Absolutely not. It's also worth noting this isn't a comic book exclusive tendency of characters.

Wait, the problem you have with comic characters is that they judge your choices? So what is the problem exactly: the “comic characters”; the “judging your choices”; the combination; or both?

Because the first can exist without the second (and vice-versa) and the second is a natural part of doing something close to other people.

  • In my game Hershell trusted Lee, and Jesus called Javier a good man.

Yes when you decide to play an asshole, characters will treat you like one.
This how I love Telltale choices.

  • Comic characters are just plain placeholders, they can't die (except Shawn who was supposed to die) so every moment of action involving them was pointless. Also, they will leave as soon as the story gets complicated, for the plot to focus completely on main hero problems. There are used as a bait and nothing more.

  • IF you know they exist you know they bite.

  • Ah, so this game is for comic and tv fans only? I'm playing this game because of fucking Clementine.
