What???
wut
David's reasons for requesting Javier not say anything about Mari's death could be a number of things.
With his quick to flair temper, and any father's natural first reaction - he might've had at that moment he said it - personal revenge in mind. If brought before the counsel, Badger would've instead faced questioning, imprisonment, perhaps even banishment, however the community doesn't appear to be the sort with a death penalty ( at least not that we've been presented. )
David might've wanted the opportunity to vet his own team to find out how many others were involved in the incident and confirm which one of them took the shot. Javi was under fire, and certain that Badger was there - but there was a lot of insanity in that instant. Javi's no soldier, he's a ball player. He might've not trusted his accounts and feared he might have the wrong person pinned for Mari's murder, or he might not have everyone responsible.
David didn't want to lose the faith of the other leaders of the community. Being the head of the security team, it would make him appear weak, ineffectual, and lead to questioning the reliance of all of his security team. In order to protect those he believed were completely loyal, and not want any false assumptions he had something to do with raids of other communities, he then asks Javi to keep this between them.
David's a fantastically complicated character the likes we haven't had since the first season of the walking dead. My honest take on it is the personal vengeance route. It would fit the darkness in him, make him relatable as a father, and in some ways I do wish he'd had an opportunity to be the one that killed Badger ( in that respect, the player could choose to have one of three people determinedly kill Badger - one if you allowed Conrad to survive, one if you decided to honor David's wishes, and the default of Javi ).
If David told the other leaders he would be blamed for Badger's actions (and he does if you tell them yourself) because Badger is one of his people, they'd say things like "David can't control his people"
Funnily enough, I briefly considered that he killed Badger's niece when that mug in the trailer was brought up.
I dont know about you, but It DID feel a little bit STRANGE when he said that AJ was still alive. Then again that Clementine flashback made me feel as if something was...idk...MISSING? I feel like maybe BOTH of them are hiding something. Idk what it is yet but i feel like it may have something to with the rating given to Episode 4 by New Zealand "Content May Disturb." I just don't know yet.
Huh, I never thought of that. Clever.
Me too
Sorry for bad English

Maybe you`re right... maybe
Perhaps Clementine caused troubles in the new frontier before. Not on purpose but not being obedient and perhaps someone got killed because of this? And the thing with stealing medicines was the last straw?
Come to think of it, during the flashback David did say something to the effect that "We should've thrown her ass out a week ago." This implies that something else must've happened a week before that flashback took place, something that Clementine was involved in.
She always mean good, but for some reason she is trouble.
Like she caused Lee to die because she just ran away.
She caused trouble in Prescott and Tripp said he want her gone out of Prescott far away from his peoples. Tripp kicked her out like David did.
I wrote this earlier:
OMG!
Just this came through my mind.
Perhaps Clementine was the reason lot of peoples, kids, lovers died in the winter. I remember she told David "fuck you and fuck the New Frontier".
David:"You already did".
David kicked her out and told he should have done it a week before like some bad stuff had happened before.
Wich led Joan to think it justifies her to raid other settlements for the survival of the new frontier.
If this happened, Clem indirectly killed Mariana!
Clem just admitted to Javi the New Frontier were decent peoples from the start.
I remember Telltale mentioned before all peoples around Clem die.
So basically if Clementine at some point decides to deal with Joan herself (AND I'M JUST SPECULATING HERE), it would serve as a means for her to try and make things right after what happened earlier.
I just hope Telltale won't kill off Joan as they always do with stereotypical villains like Carver and Norma. This would be very very boring.
I hope this will be some political drama, and Telltale wil go on a higher level of story telling.
From what I can feel, Clementine is trouble, even if she doesn't mean to.
I don't think that was Clementine. Ava already had her mark when Clem met her and David mentioned that they started the marks because of what happened in the winter. It was to make sure people are loyal because they "trusted the wrong damn people"
Whatever and when happened, I got the feeling Clem was involved with trouble within the new frontier.
The story of the marks can happened earlier and be a different one from the winter disaster.
I guess the new frontier already existed for years?
