Clem seems to have daddy issues..or longing to belong to a family.
And we might forget she is still a young kid.
We easily expect Clem would react like an adult, but the fact is she is not.
She is an orphan child on her own in a very dangerous dark world, this must be more scary than just follow a man/family who did not always agree with her (bad) behaviour.
And my Clem in Season 2 loved hugs lol.
I guess she really needed a hug at the very emotional moment when she told Javi about how she lost AJ, practically her baby boy.
Javi can be a complete asshole to clem and she can still say that he's making the right choices in Ep 3.Besides if you agree to Conrads plan or not the interactions won't change between her and you and you can also hug her?!? The hell!?!?
No it's just people coming up with the most bs reasons to try and justify reasons why the series is bad when in fact there's not that bad of a problem with it
I was lucky in some ways since I skipped all the pre-release promises and hype. Thus my expectations were lower and was able to more easily enjoy S3. I still have some criticism though:
Clementine. I actually like interacting with her more than I like playing her. However I don't like how my decisions in previous seasons seems to have done jackshit in shaping her character. And Telltale actually claims she has 40+ starting points? Hah! No matter my choices she's still this Jane esque loner badass. Also her involvement in the story feels more like fanservice than anything and results in some odd writing (more on that later).
Flashbacks. Especially the ones involving Kenny/Jane/Edith. All of them felt rushed, all of them just aimed to get Clementine alone by conveniently killing off all the other characters. Wanted to see what's actually inside those Wellington walls? Nope. Wanted the character who has been with us since S1 Ep.1 (Kenny) to have a worthy emotional farewell? Nope.
Characters. I actually like the Garcias (except Kate) and I think they are better developed than the Cabin group who had some really inconsistent behaviour and were callously written off. Nick IMO had the best development but once he became determinant... all that went down the toilet. In S3 I have issues with how they set up the characters though. Kate is immediately trying to woo Javier while the player practically knows nothing about her and thus hasn't developed a bond. The game just seems to say: you're supposed to care cuz we say so. The way they try to force a romance while giving the player consistent option to reject her... only to later pretend you didn't, it all comes off as annoying instead of engaging. Why even give me an option to reject her if your goal is to force this love-triangle drama anyways? We were able to shape and get engaged in Lee way easier since while he had an interesting history, a lot was left to our interpretation and they weren't pushing pre-established relationships.
Then there's also weird character behaviour. Everything went to shit for Tripp after he met Javier, yet he's still willing to let him act as the boss. Eleanor immediately flirts with a dude she knows nothing about and who was involved in an incident which resulted in a guy getting shot at their camp. Yet she's ready to ride off to help him. Like, wtf? Clementine and AJ don't make a lot of sense either. If she stayed in Wellington or with Kenny I guess they can teach her about taking care of babies. But especially in the alone-scenario I find my suspension of disbelief breaking. Clem is still a child herself in the end of S2 and has absolutely no knowledge of babies. Christa lost hers so she couldn't learn even then. Yet the game wants me to belive Clem is sone sort of "super mom".
Choices. This season seems to have the most biased decision making because of Clementine. We are geared to side with her for obvious reasons but in the context of Javier's story... these decisions can come off as plain odd. In S1 Lee (and the player) took her under his wing before meeting any other survivors and developed the relationship as her guardian. Javier meets Clem when she threatens him with a gun. Yet he can almost immediately say stuff like "We two are a team!" I know these options are there to appease the player but, again, in the context of Javier it's odd. Also it's pretty sad how the bias we have made the majority of players miss out on Conrad who I think is the best determinant character yet. Heck, he's double determinant!
I still enjoy the season and actually prefer it over S2, but I can see why other people might not.
Dude most of us are still waiting around because a) we got suckered into buying the season pass and b) we want to see if Telltale will own up to this lackluster season and try to redeem themselves.
To say that the angry and disappointed reactions (which are completely justified btw) means that we actually just secretly love the season is complete bullshit.
The game came out 4 months ago and it was only around $25. Money problems aren't an issue anymore so why are you so angry at me? Maybe next time look at the reviews instead of buying it straight away

I'm not angry at you, I just find it absurd to suggest that the very valid criticisms of this season are false and that all of it's detractors secretly like it.
Myself and countless others bought the season pass out of loyalty to Telltale and because we expected the same quality as the previous seasons of TWDG. Hence the feelings of betrayal and disappointment when we took Telltale at their word and found out otherwise when we actually played the game.

I Personally don't have a problem with the whole Javi thing, the only thing i dislike about the new season is the Episode Length, atleast of the first 2 episodes, Episode 3 felt right for me. However i do understand why some people Dislike the Season.
The reason is because people thought season 3 was going to be this, but ended up being another thing. They wanted season 3 to be about Clem,… more when its really about Javi, with Clem a supporting character. They didn't like the season 2 flashbacks which only added their displeasure of the idea of Javi, his family, the new characters and storyline. Because of that, most people here have the knee-jerk reaction to talk crap about the new characters, accuse the season of having worse writing than the previous seasons( even though they can't go into detail to support their claims). The short length of the premiere episodes, and the flashbacks are valid criticisms for sure, but for the most part, outside of those, most of the hatred stems from season 3 not being entirely about Clementine. They didn't make the third season the way the people here in the forums wanted.
Have you ever thought about the fact that we have gotten a fuckton of lies pre-release causing people to pre-order and buy the Season Pass? Steam denied me a refund so I'll have to play through the rest HOPING it will improve.

That's why you don't preorder if it's on steam. Wtf is the point in preordering it on steam if it isn't going to run out of stock? Just wait until it comes out and look at the reviews.

Ok to be honest kenny died while trying to protect aj and clem which Malden his death meaningful similar to lee which is More than I could s… moreay for most characters which die also the fact Is as your saying a lot of people are angered by telltales lies but in fact not really the game its self as I guarantee if telltale didn't lie people would Be no where near as disappointed
Here are my reasons:
* Episode length
* No character development
* Clementine being part of Javier's story
* Season 2 Endings don't … moremean jack shit
* Lies we were told (Episode 1 was too big so it had to be split in two, 42 versions of Clementine are in ANF, biggest season so far, Clementine is a co-playable character)
* Comic book references (Jesus is the only comic character we met and they made me lose my interes on him)
* Lack of hubs and exploring areas
* Full of plot holes (If you spare him, Rufus, the truck driver, somehow knows that Clementine was the one who stopped the truck; Tripp is nice to a stranger he just met and doesn't blame him for the fall of Prescott; Max says the ambulance gas belongs to him when that ambulance is completely broken and useless)
* Meaningless choices (No matter who you go with at the junkyard, it will always be daytime; no matter how you try to prevent trouble, Francine dies and Prescott falls… [view original content]
Because Telltale never messed up on a Walking Dead game before and I was excited to CONTINUE CLEMENTINE'S story. Yes, Season 2 wasn't the best but damn it was still a good game. ANF is just ... something else. The lies didn't help either. I guess some of it is my fault for preordering the game... and I have learnt it the hard way. I will never preorder a game again, mainly a Telltale game - but you can't deny the fact that we were given tons of lies and false advertisement to make us buy the damn game.

IGN's been trustworthy since it started. Please stop trying to find your way out of this because you know I'm right. It is next to game spot for the most accurate reviews for any video game so just don't go there. Metacritic also rated michonne as 64% and a new frontier as 81%. So there's 2 reliable game ratings that have a new frontier above michonne.

Ignore Pokemon, I don't give a shit about Pokemon. I brought it up for you to look at the pros and cons. That's an IGN review. "Too much water" - does that seem like a good negative to you?
Yes because if there's too much water, then there is a plain and boring environment if there is just ocean around. This means it would all look the same and there is barely any foliage, letting us know that the map lacks a lot of life.

All call of duties are only played for the online so that score isn't bad, and delta force WAS kinda crap Imo. This is the thing I love about this website, everyone tries to gang up on me because they think they are right but they always end up wrong.

You ignore the point. You just look up at score and make up excuses without making a single thought. You can't call IGN trustworthy if they call out a company for "churning out sequels with no noticeable attempt to improve" and at the same time they praise a game that does exactly the same, by calling it "next generation".
What I'm trying to tell you with this image is that their reviews are subjective and there are reasons not to trust them and you can't just say that "IGN's been trustworthy since the start". That means that you can't just say that A > B, just because IGN says so.

I have a feeling you're just upset you were too lazy to wait a short while to find out if the game was for you instead of buying it off the bad because you thought it would be better than the last game. I only it was kind of dumb what you did. I checked the reviews and I thought it was for me, so I got it, whereas you just didn't think twice. So listen to my point, and next time if you don't like a game just check the reviews. Every oxygen knows IGN is reliable and if I didn't know any better you're just trying to think of an excuse to make this game look bad just because you "wasted" around $25-$30. Imo money well spent

Oh and yeah, they did false advertise, an easy example is how they said it would be the biggest season yet, but so far it has the shortest episodes to do of any Walking Dead Game.
Nope, not false advertisement. They didn't say what length the episodes would be in the trailer, they barely gave any content away in the trailer or screen shots. A lot of people just over-analyzed things. Big doesn't mean long, but it could mean that it's culminating into something big. Or it could mean it involved certain things to make it big (given that there's a cameo).
'Everyone'... does this include you?

Let's be real, twdg was terrible since s2, I'm shocked people around here still try to defend it. ANF has some of the same exact problems s2 had, episodes are too short, choices don't mean anything, no hubs, boring deaths for shock value.

The walking dead michonne was also kinda bad.
I'm talking about main Walking Dead games, plus Michonne is 100x better than ANF.
Yes
That's just opinion. IGN rated michonne 6.3 and a new frontier 8.8 so I wouldn't call it 100x better
Since when is IGN trustworthy? Michonne and ANF are both at 78% right now on Steam, and ANF is close to decreasing even more.
IGN's been trustworthy since it started. Please stop trying to find your way out of this because you know I'm right.
