  • I hope they take a break for 5 years before they make another season. Even if ANF manages to have a good ending, the fact that this franchise is "fatigued" still applies. Hell, episode 3 was better but still the bar is below season 2. Many people have already analyzed this better than I could have, had I tried, so I will skip that.

Now... Season 4, 3 or a reboot? That's the question. In my eyes, ANF is not a season 3 but merely a spin-off featuring Clementine, so let's call it season 2.5, since her story progressess nonetheless. Let's see some potential narrative paths for the next season.

    1. Clem and Javi stay and rule (?) New Frontier. That would be my favorite option, since we would get to manage a huge group of survivors. (I actually killed Kenny in my first playthrough because I hoped that going to Carver's base would result in recreating and ruling a community, while in Wellington we would be mere civilians, so much for that).
    2. Javi rules (?) New frontier while Clem leaves.
    3. Javi and Clem abandoned New Frontier. Second favorite.
The new season focuses on either one of them or both of them.
  • No they can't they have to make S3 first

  • ANF is non-canon. It's the developers trolling us!

  • As much as it might pain others to say it but...as long as the show is still popular and TTG are still raking in money from ANF then I can almost guarantee they'll keep making them until people stop buying them.

The only change will be whether or not TTG decide to take their time with the next one, listen to community feedback and make another season on par with the first 2, which is possible in which case we'll all be glad they didn't decide to end the series.

Alternatively they might just decide to rush another season out hoping to carry over the money making momentum from ANF...it will most likely be another huge dip in quality if that's the case.

So in short, yes. It's not that often that companies stop making movies or games just because they think the time is right, sure there are some that do such as Uncharted and Breaking Bad that ended on a high note but those are of very few exceptions.

  • so this ANF is not season 3?

  • It is, but there's sort of a running gag going on where people are saying it isn't because of some of the big issues they see with it. Of course it's entirely subjective - it's nice to see people can still have some fun with this game :)

After all, that's generally what video games are meant for, right?
