If you don't enjoy it, than don't comment on this thread. Simple as that. You of course have every right to voice your dislike of the game, just please do it on another thread.
Glad to see some positivity on these forums. Loving TNF so far. It's not perfect, and there's are a lot of things I would change about it, but I still love it.

Glad your enjoying it! This is a pretty unique season, and I like what they are doing so far, especially with episode 3, and only hope it gets better with episode 4 (3 days away!), and 5. It hasn't reached season 2 or even 1 for me, but there's still time, but even if it doesn't I can say I've enjoyed what I have played so far.
Since the beginning of this series I've been positive about it. I feel it is far better then season 2 when I feel the series was going to get worse it keeps surprising me even if everyone else doesn't agree. I also love seeing the more mature Clem from a different perspective as a side character and I can still share the same bond with her as I did in previous seasons.
I was pleasantly surprised they didn't end up making David a one dimensional murderous rageathon, and actually made him a deeper and more conflicted character when people were saying his a woman abusing guy with anger problems who's also mean to Kate. Can't say ANF has been anywhere near the level of the first two games, but I'm at least hopeful that they may start treating some of the other new characters the same way in the next two episodes.

However, It just seems a little disrespectful to comment on a thread created for an outlook on the positive aspects of the game with a statement claiming we should only think negatively about it.
I have really liked this Season, it's been a breath of fresh air stylistically. There are some things obviously that I am not on board with but generally I am impressed with this season and the effort that has been put into it. I'm sick to death of the griping about everything. Fans get so entitled and run most once successful things into the ground with their negativity. I'm hoping it doesn't happen with TWD, I hope Telltale see that there are those of us that believe in them and still love their world. Sure, I'd still love to be playing as Clementine, but after two seasons, we needed a break, we needed a fresh perspective for a bit.
I think the story is fantastic. The writing for EP3 really pushed up the tension and connected some threads that once seemed stupid, Mariana's death seemed rather pointless when there was so much potential, but it hasn't been for nothing as the writing has weaved it into the story with David and how his settlement was behind it, causing the catalyst for him to distrust what has been home for years. I could add so many more things I've loved so far and maybe I'll add some more soon.

I'm pretty sure if there are enough people who dislike the product they purchased enough to run it into the ground, entitled isn't the correct way to describe them.
In my opinion he was simply implying that this thread is created for people to share their positive outlooks on the game and find sanctuary here from a lot of the negativity in the forums.
Only if you are choosing not to contribute to this then he suggests taking your negativity elsewhere as to not make creating this thread pointless.
I do have a negative opinion on the game which is true. However, I was asking a question to get their opinion on why they see positivity in this game. It wasn't a rhetorical question.

It's a huge step down from the previous games in every way imaginable.
You asked why we should see any positive aspects about the game after you just claimed it was what I have placed above.
The answer to your question was already discussed in the description. OP claimed he enjoyed the game and believes there should be a balance of positivity as well as negativity thus creating a thread for us fans of ANF to discuss what we like about it...despite this you still felt the need to call it' "a huge step down from the previous games in every way imaginable." which is just the type of negativity that we're trying to avoid here.

There's been a lot of negativity floating around the forums, more so than usual
Not to be a jerk or anything but if that's the general consensus right now then why not just let it be? I just don't see the point in being positive for the sake of being positive, or because a lot of people are being negative. It's not like we're little kids here that have to pretend our buddy doesn't suck at something to spare his feelings. Also from what i've seen, most people (bar maybe the more hardcore Clementine fans) don't have any sort of agenda against the game and were willing to go into it with an open mind. The game genuinely disappointed a lot of people.
Which is my opinion. And I wanted for specifics, for instance, what makes the story so genuinely engaging for them? What makes the characters so interesting for them? Why do they enjoy playing Javi so much?
Is it bad to ask for a different perspective without assuming I just want to ruin the thread?

Dude, that's why this thread was created. For us to discuss what makes the story so engaging for us, but instead we're having this argument because you were literally the first to comment on it and gave nobody a chance to answer you.
Is it bad to ask for a different perspective without assuming I just want to ruin the thread.
Ofcourse not. If you had commented, "Why do you like the story so much? Why do you like playing as Javi so much? etc. But you didn't. Instead you made your question plagued with negativity. You asked why we should look for the positive aspects of the game when it is, and I quote, "A huge step down from the previous games in every way imaginable."

I was definitely disappointed by the first 2 episodes, but Above the Law was a major step up in quality. I really like David, and how he turned out to be not such a jerk after all. New favorite character since Kenny? Too early to tell, but possibly.
I'm pretty excited for episode 4 now, when the wait for episode 3 was kinda like "whatever."

Sorry. I was under the impression that I had the freedom to express a differing opinion on a thread I may not agree with.

I think there was also a general positivity thread before, but whatever.
Nice to see this type of thing again.
Yeeep mine died faaaaast, but that was before episode 3, so I can why.

Maybe this one should be merged with the other existing threads?
Well I agree with where you're coming from, but all I did was ask a question and the OP told me to not comment on their thread.

it's just nice to talk about the good things about the game, also people who genuinely like it can explain why
