I learned a hard lesson from The Phantom Menace that no matter how disappointing something may be compared to what came before, or in general, once the creators commit to it being canon it usually remains so.
Sadly it's not something you can really change, it's not only canon for the game series, it's canon for the entire comics universe of The Walking Dead...
As much as I want it to not be canon... we can't change that. Telltale made a pretty bad game, hopefully they improve in S4 (or the actual S3) if that ever happens.

In an alternate universe, S2 and S3 don't even exist and Telltale actually went on to improve their management.
It is canon and I'm more then happy (Kenny's death aside) that it is.
