I'm seriously gonna fucking murder *********** (Episode 4)

  • I say Javi's the hypocrite saying life is precious after killing a man when he didn't have to. Bottom line is that people killed Conrad when they didn't have to. The only real downside to sparing him is that you hurt Clementine's feelings.

However... I may have chosen my words poorly, I didn't mean to belittle other people's choices. In my opinion killing Conrad is wrong but maybe others feel differently.

  • But if you let the timer run out, he shoots Gabe and Javier for not making a decision. The choice was either sell Clem for Kate or kill Conrad. For all Javier and the rest thought, they could've killer her the second they hand her over.

The way I feel is that Conrad was just acting irrational for wanting revenge for Francine.

  • Yes he was out of his mind but he calms down later and realizes he fucked up. Plus at the time I had no clue that he kills you so that didn't really influence my choice.

  • I understand that what you mean is that you'd like a younger male to be better portrayed in the series than Duck and Ben, but there are countless fantastic men in TWD games and universe. I think the series does well with equality.

  • Eleanor will still do the same thing regardless of Conrad's status.

Well, the one playthrough I saw had him telling everyone about Conrad, and ending with Eleanor and Tripp wanting nothing to do Javi. It's

  • Does she have a reason for it in that scenario? I mean, I get why it'd happen if you killed Conrad, but...

  • She mentions how comfortable the place is, and maintains her doubts over the plan of going up against Richmond/facing the hoard. The writers here appear to have her go full Judas on Javi as far as willing to sell you out regardless of your choices.

Does she have a reason for it in that scenario? I mean, I get why it'd happen if you killed Conrad, but...

  • Clem has been around since season 1. She also has aj to look after. Just on those two basis alone she's way more important and valuable than gabe. Hopefully gabe doesn't survive in the 5th episode. I can't stand him. A lot of people can't stand and for many and all good reasons. Honestly I hope clem, javier and el (if she explains what she did and makes up for it) are the only survivors.

  • Javier says that you should try to save lives unless they're against you. I think pointing a gun at your head counts, so I don't really see his later words as hypocritical at all. In the zombie apocalypse, or ever really, if you point a gun at someone's family member's head, you're open season. They all know the rules of that jungle.

I actually don't mind Conrad and I've liked watching playthroughs where he lives, but I don't regret what happened to him at all. He brought that on himself and I sure as shit wouldn't be willing to risk him killing my family.

I killed Conrad for save his punk ass.
In optional dialogues, I tried to get along with him.

He thanked me for it as :

Sold me out about Conrad in front of Tripp and cause our relationship strained with Tripp.
Blamed us for murdering Conrad even I saved his fucking ass.
Tried to be badass and he did get his ass beat down multiple times and I almost died in this multiple times because of that little shit.

Ungrateful little whiny piece of shit.

Depends on your choices wether Gabe is ok or totally being a little piece of shit.
When you chose to spare Conrad, Gabe will be fine.
When you killed Conrad, Gabe will betray you and will be a totally shitbird I just wanna get rid off.
Seems asshole choices create asshole kids.

For some reason Gabe was being right after Javi killed Conrad and told Gabe how life is precious.

I'm a little confused. Did something happen? I mean I don't recall Gabe doing something to me. I loved him this episode.

  • I can't stand Gabe not because of his actions so to speak. I hate him because he is the complete epitome of stereotyped "young teen in a crisis situation". How many times have we seen this kind of character done? NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO IM GONNA SCREW THINGS UP!! WAAHHH!! Enough with the im gonna suddenly prove myself and make things worse! kind of characters

Even more insulting Clem seems to be into him. God...

  • I'm fine with Gabe but in this episode he was an idiot always trying to be the hero (mostly just to impress Clem) most scenes were just fun to yell at him. I really hated him when he revealed I shot Conrad though I knew Tripp would find out eventually I just thought Javi should have told him and Gabe didn't have to be a dick about it.

Pretty much both of those, along with the abundance(but variety) of girl characters. I'm just really happy that Gabe's character doesn't really fall into that "Look how annoying/screwup-y/slippery that boy is" category that practically all the other boy characters did, while still having some complexity and variation in his behavior and interactions.

I think the series does well with equality.

Eh, true I suppose, but there were a few hiccups and concerning moments in Season 2 in particular.

  • From what I've seen in an alternate playthrough, Eleanor still contacts Joan and has Tripp and Ava arrested, but she seems more uncertain about it compared to her determination if you killed Conrad. So, same thing happens, just with Tripp and Eleanor a little more angry in general.

  • Again, I still need to do more research, but I'll ask this again: Is Gabe bringing up what happened with Conrad determinate to how you treat him?

Because as far as I can tell, it isn't. And that's a serious issue for two or three reasons.

  • he will rat you out no matter how you treat him.

  • All this bullshit shipness in this episode makes me want to leave him to die. Clementine doesn't NEED love. He even fucking set Javi off to Tripp, telling him the truth about Conrad. Fuck Gabe.

  • I don't believe so. He's always pissed in that scene difference is that if you killed Conrad he has something to vent about.

  • Ratting Javi out if you shot Conrad

I took that as Gabe feeling guilt over Conrad getting killed, since the reason Javi shot him, was because of Gabe being held hostage by Conrad, and lashing out on Javi would make him feel better about it, making sure Javi felt that guilt instead. I know, immature to do, but he didn't do it because he's a bad person.

Gabe... I'm sorry, but you're not even funnily incompetent anymore. You really annoyed me in this episode. At least with people like Ben,

  • Man, it feels so great to be able to choose dialogues in episode 4 that insult, contradict or dismiss gabe, the sensation of making Javi be as tired of him as me is very cathartic.

  • I disagree with most people here too but there's no need to start insulting them.

  • Does Gabe sell out Javier regardless? Or only if Javier chooses to sell Gabe out first in front of everyone for getting his uncle injured in the first place due to his recklessness?

  • And that's officially dumb. Whelp, that's another scene that should've easily been determinate--even if it is somewhat pointless in the episode proper.

  • Damn. I was hoping that there was a way for Gabe to not sell Javier out if Javier had shot Conrad to save his nephew's life.

From a video I've watched, one dialogue choice being used didn't even look as if Javier was going to blame Gabe for the cut on his shoulder, but he does anyway, which provokes Gabe into telling everyone about what has happened to Conrad.

Pretty much. Gabe telling everyone about Conrad's death is another one of those things that should have been determinate to your interactions with him, especially since you spend a lot of time teaching him this episode. Instead, it's something that happens no matter what because we gotta have that drama, I guess, even though it doesn't have that many consequences in the episode proper.

  • But he told me to shoot Conrad. It wasn't Javi's fault.

  • Did anyone else who tried to leave with Kate think Gabe was gonna kill the armoury guard?

  • Do you actually have an option to say thaT LMAO?

  • edited April 2017

It's also frustrating because of how many players will have chosen to shoot Conrad to save Clementine/Gabe. And now, all of those players likely loathe Gabe for snitching.

And since Gabe already has a poor popularity rank to begin with, chances are most won't find much redeeming qualities left from him in the finale and will want him dead or gone.
