Eleanor's role...

  • I wouldn't write off her character just yet. There may be more to her betrayel. It's worth noting the expression changes based on whether you killed Conrad. She seems sad if you didn't kill him and she seems more bitter if you did. I can't guess her motivations but I don't think it was evil. It might be a similar situation to Ben in season 1. Trying to save everyone behind their backs in a way that ultimately backfired. Maybe she was trying to achieve a peaceful solution but had no idea Joan intended to put Tripp's life in danger. She's certainly less than pleased if he dies. I have no idea why she did it but all I mean to say is that I think it's worth giving her a chance.

Perhaps Joan was really her mom.

But from what I have seen she is just a backstabber who wanted to have a safe place in Richmond.
I hope we will see in episode 5.

  • Okay, no. There are far better explanations out there than "maybe she's related to Joan!"

  • If Eleanor prioritizes her own life over others than her actions in episode 1 make no sense. She goes behind Tripp's back and risks her life to help you. Even if you're suspected of killing Eli.

    Getting killed

Or a Ben situation where Joan told Eleanor they might have family of hers in Richmond.

I hope Telltale will have a very good explanation why some kind hearted person as Eleanor did this.

  • I don't see her as a backstabber. I really thought she did this because she thought it will end peacefully. She did, after all, break Javi and Clem out of jail behind Tripp's back even though she didn't know Javi. All she assumed was that Javi was a good guy and acted based on that. She did the same thing with New Frontier because she assumed they wont be killing anyone and it will end peacefully. So, I think she's a naïve person who makes the wrong decisions.

She probably did this to safe her own guts. No matter she got Javi and Tripp killed after her cowardly actions. I am happy I got Tripp and not Ava killed and see her suffer for what she did.

  • Given how little her character received for all of four out of five episodes, I don't have much hope that there'll be more to Eleanor than being remembered as 'the one who betrays you'.

And considered the track records of those who are perceived as traitors to the group, her chances of being redeemed or developed is looking pretty slim, and she has one episode left before the season ends.

  • Besides betraying Javier, she literally had no other character to her.

Ironically, I'd say she had more character than Tripp despite her limited screentime.

  • This why I am shocked after she did this.
The kind hearted EMT. She saved Kate's life.

  • Yeah, like I said when I bumped this thread, I don't even know what to say about it. It doesn't really feel like that much of a betrayal(probably because Tripp has really been directionless for the most part) but we're not given quite enough insight to see it as little more than "Naive woman underestimated Calculating Hag." It's just something that happened as an explanation for the scene's backbone, honestly.

  • FUCK Eleanor.

  • I DIDNAZIDATCOMING!

Seriously though, whoever writes these episodes needs to think of a profession change, it's too predictable, oh and repetitive! Another stiching scene?? C'mooooon...

  • I believe Joan threatened to kill Tripp if Eleanor didn't talk.

She didn't seem to be doing it happily. It may have been an attempt to resolve things peacefully. Ultimately that didn't work.

  • I assume you don't really like the good memories we had with season 2? :p
