I first learned this by playing the episode with different save file which has Conrad alive. I accidently failed the QTE and Conrad saved me. Glad I had to restart to keep him alive. This episode just changed my opinion on Conrad.
Oh yeah, she's dead. And to add what others said earlier, holy shit, Conrad is being handled exceptionally well for a determinant character, I love it.
I completely regret shooting Conrad. I hate to say it but Telltale did a great job on Conrad's character. He is the best determinant character since Ben.

I'd love for her to still be alive, but idk, her chances don't look too good to me.
I like your idea, but if she jumped out wouldn't we have had to see it? (unless TT wants to surprise us... I don't think it'd make sense for Javi to not notice)
Though her getting to the back would make sense, I'd like to see that!
(Replying on to my own comment since I'm an idiot and I can't figure out how to get text into the same field with that photo)
The front o… moref the truck looks empty. Perhaps Kate had enough time to jump out of the truck or she fled to the back of the truck? The truck was armored so the explosion wouldn't have been that bad for her.
There's also a chance, that Telltale was lazy and forgot to add her into truck right before the crash.
But also allow me to remind, that there have been several characters who have survived almost certain deaths, like Kenny and Bonnie just for example.
And also, Kate is the only character besides from Javier and Clementine whose on the game cover art. So I'd imagine Telltale would want to keep them all alive at least for the final episode.
Kate is surely dead, the truck crushed with such a high speed and also exploded. Even plot-armoured Jesus wouldn't have survived that, unless it was his spare coat which was driving.
He sure is, honestly he is the best thing in this entire season and here's why, didn't give him a gun? BAM he's dead! Failed a QTE? BAM he's dead! Your choices and actions have consequenses because of it and that makes it all the more rewarding if he does make it to the end of the episode because you know you didn't fuck up!
Characters like Gabe and Kate are boring because the game forces us to like them and if they die it's nothing more than a would be dramatic part of the story we are supposed to feel bad about, I don't care about them, at all, fuck em! Wish they did the story a favor and just went ahead and died at the junkyard already!
So, is Conrads, like triple-determinant now?

When you have to dodge the oncoming truck, the camera angle goes on to the left side of the truck.
My presumed reason for this, is to keep the fact that Kate managed to jump out of the right side of the truck a secret. I mean, it wouldn't be an impossibility since obviously cars/trucks have doors on both sides.
And also, why else would they switch the camera angle to the left? We've already had a moment where we had to dodge an oncoming car (in episode 2) and the camera angle was the same as right before the crash (on the front).
And as for the reason why Javi didn't notice her, the clear reason is the fact that there lots of tear gas. And Javi instantly looked forward.

Well it WAS an armoured truck and it didn't explode so I don't think she's dead. If she did make it to the back though, she either would have been flung out of the window, into one of the walls or into one of the chairs with a powerful force so she would have been badly injured either way.
Was wondering if there might've been an explanation regarding the camera, but mostly Javi. I mean I know they can fool us, but wouldn't HE have seen it? But you're right, the tear gas and the chaos might be an explanation. Here's hoping!

I hope she burns to death in the truck though at least her character is consistant so I wouldnt mind seeing more of her. Storywise she has more of a role I think
Yeah if you check YouTube you can see there is a barrier to her left that she could be behind if she jumped out before the explosion. I'd love that to be true. I'm a mega walking dead fan(show and comic and telltale) but I often hate characters constantly getting killed off. I felt season 2 of the game lacked momentum because Lee was killed off, it was odd role playing as a child, another reason why I love this season and being Javi.
My hopes are pretty low for Kate however. If you choose the romance ending, it seems too good to be true and the obvious and easy choice is for Telltale to kill her off rather than explore that relationship in future episodes or seasons. It's a shame and weirdly makes me less excited for episode 5 as less characters I care about are still around. Oh well.
As others have pointed out, the truck's front is empty before the truck crashes into the wall, so she might have managed to jump into the back of the truck. Usually if you don't see the body, they're alive.
I'm so annoyed that I could have saved him! I wasn't quick enough to press the button so he got hit by the truck. I may have to go back just to save him again...

I hope she's alive! What an absolute shocker of an ending if they killed her off just like that, though.
I can see the first scenes of the ep (after the flashback they normally do) being Javi and Gabe trying to get to the burning truck, fighting back against the walkers blocking their way. Clem either helps or tries to tell them to leave because it's not safe
That could just be from flashbacks. It's not very far fetched to think that the episode will open up with a Kate-centered flashback just after she died at the end of the previous episode.
I like how Conrad is like the Final Destination character of the Walking Dead with all of the death we get by him. Nah he is more like the Kenny from South Park at this point. If he is a quadruple determinant, then death really wants him.
Conrad s confirmed best survivor he s the only triple determinant character in telltale history and he s also in the walking dead which never treats determinant characters kindly Conrad s a legend now .
I couldn't reply on the other thread as it was closed so posting this here:
kinda sad that we didn't see Sarita, Carlos, Alvin and maybe even Sarah's body in the pile,
Most likely because they were all eaten. Alvin though, yeah they could have included him unless walkers got inside as well? But then again with Alvin the "hard working" (sarcasm) writers would have to go back and check people's choices to see who had Alvin alive at Howe's and those that didn't lol

its like he s not determinant but an actual character since he s actually getting developed and is actually important to the plot.

She got lucky
Reeeeal lucky.
I heard girl screams, but I don't know if it was her...
Please get lucky Kate
God I hope Not. I kinda...Maybe accepted her feelings towards me, so that be a bummer if she died
Well at least she can't hate me now for rejecting her :P
No body, no death. Especially with this game.
She will only survive through the power of love. If you rejected her she dies.
I hope she burns to death in the truck though at least her character is consistant so I wouldnt mind seeing more of her. Storywise she has more of a role I think

I'm both concerned and relieved that people are getting my hopes up. XD
I really don't want to hope she's alive then find her corpse.
Kate will survived. We would have seen her body for sure if she died.
Pretty much. That's why I don't hope she survived--I believe she did.
She is alive the person who plays her just got done with her lines for ep 5
Nah she's fine. It was only for a dramatic ending only for her to have minimal inquiries and no burns. The kenny luck is alive and well.
If so, then Javi is gonna get lucky. Real lucky.
Hope she survived, mostly because not everything on TWD should always turn to all the crap ever.
Anyway, I agree. She's got a gripping enough character to make me not like her
I hope she's alive! What an absolute shocker of an ending if they killed her off just like that, though.

True, but honestly Dan, with the exception of Carlos, I think exclude the other three was for the best.
