Tripp and Eleanor is completely one sided, and Tripp honestly chooses the worst time to lay out his feelings towards Eleanor as their are more important things to worry about. It was stated that they kind of, sort of used to be thing, but yet Tripp acts like he is in love with her, and if their relationship was more than what these characters have let on, it would have been nice if the game actually showed that to be the case, or at least why Tripp likes Eleanor, or have Eleanor reciprocate his feelings in some way.
Why can't they just be friends, that I'd be completely fine with, and I could understand it. I thought we were going to get that with Sarah, and to an extent, we did, but because of her poor treatment, we never got to see Clem really connect with a person close to her age. We had that opportunity with Gabe, but Telltale immediately decided to go right down the love interest route with him. It would have been better and way more interesting to see these two develop an actual friendship, have Clem teach Gabe how to start making tough decisions and not act like a spoiled, bratty, hypocritical asshole.
The amount of shipping and the focus on the numerous relationships is one of the very few complaints I have with this episode, mainly becaus… moree, in all of the cases, they have not been handled well at all. Gabe and Clem, much like Tripp and Eleanor, is completely one sided. But to go along with that, with the amount of shit Gabe pulled in this episode, there's no way in hell he deserves Clem. Not only that, but it feels like a co… [view original content]
Maybe Clementine is just trying to help him through a tough time, not knowing he has a crush on her. She can just simply be there for him as a friend. Towards the end, Gabe can confess his feelings for her but Clem will say "I'm sorry Gabe, but I can't.)
I mean so far I haven't noticed anything pointing towards Clem liking him that way, right? She walks up to him and says hi at one point in an earlier episode, and plays some cards with him in this one, but... He's definitely got a crush on her, I'm not so sure about her feeling the same way.
I think TT wants to ruin Clementine's character as much as possible and that's done, one way, by shipping Gabe with her. People hate him with good reason, he acts like a whiney prick most of the time and Clem hates David (who Gabe pretty much acts like). This whole thing feels dumb and sickening.
Honestly? I think it's alright. I don't particularly care about it, but I feel like if Clem wants it, then so be it. We're not controlling her anymore.
From my perspective, it does look very one sided, so I'm going to say she doesn't feel the same way. But with how abysmally Telltale has handled relationships this season, I wouldn't be surprised if her playing cards with him was enough to make her fall in love with Gabe.
I personally didn't find it that cringey except for the Kate part, they were just playing around, having fun and suddenly Kate feels like they're gonna have kids smfh
He outright irritated me in his first scene, that's what:
"ELLE, I've been thinking HARD about THIS and...I really THINK we should be...a THING."
"YOU can't do anything HERE. You know they don't want ANY of the rest of us like they want YOU!Would you be HAPPY never SEEIN me AGAIN!"
"Javi, I can't leave here man. It ain't right. I think I pushed Eleanor too hard."
Me- I. Don't. Give a. Shit! Oh, that's the first time he's ever done that--while I was actually going through the game, no less! I can't remember the last time that ever happened.

I'd be fine with a romance involving another character and Clementine, but the whole Gabe thing is so unrealistic and forced to me. I don't hate Gabe but damn, why couldn't it be him instead of Mari?

He's a teenager, hormones are a mess. He even admits in episode 1 that he doesn't like being that way but he obviously has no control over it, especially growing up in the apocalypse.

they really need to stop the forcing. but i have faith in clem to make the right choice. gabe showed clem his true character. now way she finds that annoying shit attractive. i really honestly think david is gonna die over something javi does. gabe is going to get pissed try and pull a gun on javi and clem is going to pull that trigger
I hope Telltale realizes almost everybody doesn't like this ship, it's so cringey and out of character for Clementine. At least for the Javier x Kate thing, they stopped forcing it and made it determinate.
its like telltale want to fuck up everything they had. i wish there was a way i cant get this game permently removed my memory and just lived on to believe kenny and clem lived happily ever after with aj. i really hope telltale fixes this game with episode 5 and we can all just laugh bout the relationship that never happened cause clem was like fuck that shit

Lee is rolling in his fucking grave right now.
This.
I think it's cute how Kate naively ships them when there will never be a chance

Please someone say she doesn't feel the same way!

Classic Trolltale

It's only Kate's words, nothing's happening, everybody chill and stay calm.
everybody panic the end is nigh
I'm dlb...
WELL looks like I'm forced to draw Gabentine. ...After I'm done with my realistic Clementine portrait. Don't hate me yet.
Honestly? I think it's alright. I don't particularly care about it, but I feel like if Clem wants it, then so be it. We're not controlling her anymore.
Why did you felt the need to... announce this here, out of all the places??

Do it...
Eh I don't mind it. I liked the dialogue between the two, and how Clem chilled Gabe out when he was getting rambunctious.
It's the best place
LMAO
Definitely he is.
The only cringe part was Kate's dialogue about it. Clementine and Gabe were just playing cards, not strip monopoly. Fucking relax.

What happened? What did Tripp do?

Oh, yeah... that conversation was awkward... lol
Maybe if they just look like BFF playing Mario Cart or something...
People who call her their "daughter" makes me feel excruciatingly numb

I hope to god that's not true.
It's bound to happen just like the Kate and Javier romance was until you can directly reject kate.
Interesting how this season has been about Romance and politics with zombies spinkeled in occasionally.
... what?
This season has essentially been romance angles and Richmond politics with zombies occasionally brought in.
It kinda sounds like they are actually negotiating with the zombies...
-What about you, sir? What are your thoughts on Richmond's leadership?
-Rahgrrrrhumf....

They want to ruin Clem and then let her die.
I don't... care?

idk i guess they just go with whatever is forced.

me too
Honestly, I think it'd be better if she talked the monster to death instead. Be a nice change of pace.
