Bad writing.
God this episode is painful. Me and my buddy has never had to say bad writing so much in a telltale episode. This is just painful.

I disagree. Episode 4 is the first episode of the season that I REALLY want to replay.
Yeah yeah yeah, tell me something I don't know
K. Not sure why this needed to be made into a thread but k.
I loved this episode....but am starting to hate people on these forums.
Sometimes I feel like maybe I'm an idiot who likes something that no one else likes, but then... No, I'm not. The problem is with the forum itself.
You don't see consistent and useful complaints, just the same old shit.
.
Heh I have the exact same opinion but they don't really allow freedom of expression around here so I try to keep my mouth shut.
And you expect to make sense with your sentence because...?
"Oh, Hey."
"Uh, Hey."
"Tripp look who's here"
"Hey, guys.."
"Hey."
Solid writing 10/10.
Just look at the comment above yours so you will understand lol.
Realism chased its own tail and ol' good logic took the overdue vacation, but hey, it's like this since the season started (I'm looking at you flashbacks).
I think you're confusing plot with writing/dialogue. This episode was structured good, but the writing was the worst in a Telltale game so far.
Wtf, sorry. o.O
I didn't comment to you. No idea how it slipped down below your comment.
Look at your username and profile picture.. of course you loved that episode and hate the people who disagree.
I understand your opinion, buddy. But your opinion isn't my opinion. People have the right to love as much as they have the right to hate an episode. You can think the writing/dialogue was bad, but some people will disagree with you. It's simple. It's life.
To be fair, season one had its fair share of blunders, too.
"Hey."
"Yo."
"Hey Ben."
"Hey?"
"See ya."
"Yeah."
"Hmm.. Pointy."
"The door to the boxcar!"
Call me stupid but I still don't understand
hahah omg, that's okay.
Its been like that since December.
Fair enough, I respect your opinion. I did enjoy this episode, I just thought the dialogue was one its weak points.
Nevermind. Let's just enjoy the game.
you love me.
That's good, thank you! Well, we can't always expect perfection, right?
I think most of those were optional, if not all of them, unlike ANF's one where you have to see it.
I think most of them were supposed to be awkward/funny. Whereas with Season 3 it's just bad writing...But I could be wrong.
You know what? No. Just... no. I'm gonna just stop you right there. We are NOT bringing Jane into this. Nope. Nuh-uh. Not happening.
I'm not an expert on the subject, but I'd like to imagine if you walked in on two people having... that kind of disagreement, you'd both be responding a bit awkwardly about it. That exchange seems fine to me.
Ofcourse not, there's no such thing as perfection in any piece of entertainment. At least one person will always find something disappointing. I do think this was the best episode yet, so that is something good.
That's true. At least there if I wanna see some cringey dialogue, I have to try my best to find it.
Me too! I already want to play the episode all over again.
I'll admit, I spent way more time listening to Lee and Chuck's magical dialogue than I probably should have
Episode 4 was definitely an improvement compared to the last 3 episodes, but I will agree there are some awkward/cringe moments in the episode (The biggest one being Kate Fantasizing about Clem and Gabe hooking up)
I don't think of it as bad writing, but more of a way for Telltale to please those criticizing the last few episodes while appealing to those who enjoyed the season so far.
100% Agreed TERRIBLE writing! This episode pissed me off and made me want to just stop playing because of how bad the writing was.
I just wanna let you all know that Telltale is doing an AMA today from 6pm-7pm EST about New Frontier. So if anyone has any complaints about the writing/Gabe hate, you should ask now.

You mean you didn't already?
I don't know what you're talking about. This episode was soo good.
Nothing but love for you.
