I'm so pissed right now. (Ep. 4 Spoilers)

They fuckin' killed my girl Ava...she was the only cool neutral character I actually liked after Tripp and Eleanor threw their bitch fits at me and she's gone now. Gabe has officially cemented his position as the ultimate shit kid, they ONLY person who had my back at the end was Kate and she's probably dead. (I know they showed the truck exploding, i'm just following the S2 Kenny logic of "We didn't see the body.") ...Needless to say I'm butthurt like a motherfucker right now. Least I still have Clem to be cool with ._.

Comments

  • At least it's determinant and she accepted it when it became inevitable. Rest in peace, you fuckin soldier.

  • I really tried to save Ava cause she was the best supporting character of this episode and that bitch Eleanor sold me out and I couldn't trust Tripp anymore cause he hates my guts, thanks to that little shit, Gabe.

  • I actually tried to save Tripp despite him also having a 'bitch fit' at me so Ava is still alive in my game. Not sure if they'll keep her (or Tripp depending who you save) for the last episode but from what I'm hearing, Conrad can still be alive by the end of episode 4 which is cool. But yeah, I liked Ava a lot but I still figured I'd save Tripp since he's been there longer and I did like his character

  • That betrayal though... not cool Telltale, not cool. T_T

  • I feel the same way OP.
Worst of all, I knew it was coming, and I still got her killed... But I didn't mean to. I just had a hunch Joan would stab us in the back.

Dammit. I love this episode. :P

  • As long as we still have Clem, it'll be alright though.
Hoping for a happy ending with Clem, Javi and AJ at that ranch.

  • 10 minutes before Kate died I said "If Kate dies I will never buy another TT game again. That was the dumbest move ever. I thought TTTWD would be different than the rest. That they wouldn't commit the stupidity all other games have. That bonehead move. And then they did it. I understand shock value and plot twist, but Kate? Dumb, dumb, dumb. I will never buy TT again.

  • Seeing as Eleanor and Ava was the only 2 characters I really liked besides Clem, this episode was fucking devastating, although Eleanors betrayal makes literally 0 sense to me, I dont fucking see how Joan doesnt get shot by someone for the shit she pulls with Ava and Tripp, at that point it should be obvious that she is totally crazy and not fit to lead what is supposed to be a peaceful community

  • Oh noe, better rewrite that scene TT, you don't want to loose such a precious customer! Seriously dude, you don't even know she's really dead, maybe she jumped out or something, have some hope man!

  • I'm pissed now that I didn't shake her hand as Clem.

  • I actually really like the swerve I'm surprised Telltale has never done that before.

  • The episode could've been so damn good overall if there wasn't that garbage choice. It makes no sense for Javier to pick one of them. He would rather give up himself than choose who of the two lives and who dies. I'm angry that Telltale forced this choice on us no matter what.
I know they did it for their usual "shocking-moments", but come on.

Telltale, if you want to create these impactful moments, PLEASE LEARN that you don't do it by shitting on the story and the characters.

Killing Jane/Kenny/Wellington like you did already was a very moronic thing to do. And I thought you learned from your mistakes by adding more flashbacks to Clem's story.. I wholeheartedly cherish the beautiful Kenny-flashback that we got now, (which is the best way to kinda make up for the terrible and lazy writing that leaded to his death). But the core-problem was not solved and you did the same mistake again.

It makes NO sense for Eleanor to become the big traitor. It does not fit the way you portrayed her in the previous episodes at all. And it makes NO sense for Javier to choose between Ava and Tripp. If you want to include such a decision, use another character instead. Neither Clem, nor Javier would ever make that choice. This is one of these moments when I believe that "fans" know - and would handle - the characters a lot better than the creators themselves. :/

  • Amen! I expected the trolls and their "oh boohoo, you're just one person" etc, so no worries mate. But seriously, after gaming for as long as I have you get to know when a company drops the ball as it were. Naturally there are some that "like"it, but the rarity of the trolls and the sadists should be kept in perspective in comparison to the amount of buyers that they are managing to turn away. Me being here as a seeming minority is in no way a reflection on the amount of unhappy customers.
True Kate might not be dead, but circumstances deduced, she was already injured, rams into a wall, and the truck explodes, AND there is a horde of walkers trudging over that truck. Alive? Not holding my breath.

  • I wonder how many people just let the time run out. I mean it was pretty certain we were going to die but... I was trying to be hopeful.

  • I did the first time. I was hoping something might happen.

  • Yeah it's really unfortunate that something different doesn't happen. Staying silent isn't really a choice anymore I.E being quiet when Conrad has Gabe held up has the same result.

That being said though, episode 4 wasn't bad. I just wish more time was included both for the flashbacks and main story line.

  • I did wait as well. Was disappointing that the game just resets then.

  • Thanks for your reply. Well, after Kenny in Season 2, I go with that "As long as you don't see the corpse, a character isn't dead"-mentality. But I surely have doubts, especially since this Kate-scene happens immediately after her confessing her feelings to Javi. Unfortunately, this is usually the ticket to death.

To be fair Joan orders two guys behind you to aim their guns at you and says something like "Just in case you need a little convincing." (Can't remember it word for word) That basically spells out "If you don't choose we'll kill you."

  • It didn't feel right at time, Clementine just went through something terrible and I figured out that she wouldn't be grateful for Ava giving her tips. I always try to put myself in her shoes. I did not hug Javier either, seemed off and extremely weird to me.

  • I assume she only spares Clementine and Gabe out of pragmatism.

  • I chose Tripp cause of our old friendship even though he fucking hated me thanks to killing Conrad. So he ended up dying, but I didn't really feel anything nor cared all that much. However now that I think about it, Ava seems pretty rad right now. She was super helpful and nice (as anyone can be in this game) I also got her in my Clem flashback. The only thing I'm worried about is her being pissed I didn't choose her to live in the decision. Although I'd imagine both characters would be mad and it's just another no win situation.

Didn't they put their guns up towards Clementine and Gabe (who are both kids). Especially with Ava up there, you'd think the crowd would deem it as very questionable but... No one says anything. It's pretty disappointing.

  • true but they gonna fuck this game up if they dont either kill gabe or makes this all just a weird ass dream game. Telltale has alor of pressure to make this game not a fuck up. but if they fuck this up. they truly lost one of the great things we all had
