Playable Character In Episode 5

Hey guys,

I was thinking, what if the roles get reversed in Episode 5?
Episode 4 ends with a cliffhanger, Javi screaming Kate. When Episode 5 starts, we play Clementine and have to deal with a devastated Javier, him acting based on the dialogue and choices we did/made.

Wouldn't that be an interesting approach?

  • It would be, probably wont happen though, personally I think it could be cool to switch the roles for a potential season 4, where you play as Clementine, and Javier is different depending on A New Frontier choices, not sure I see it happening though

  • That would be interesting, but that's too much work to do in one sitting. So, I doubt it will happen.

  • Just as Clementine changes depending on your choices from S1 & S2? Naaah, don't fool ourselves our Telltale don't give a shit about our choices.

Still, that's an awsome idea you've got.

  • A very interesting approach ideed. Dealing with Javi and going to find AJ from Clem's point of view would be great and could even save ANF if the episode would be very interesting with good plot twists and quite longer.

  • I love the idea, but TT made it clear this is the white guy who can't speak Spanish playing a Cubans story. There's gonna be a short flashback, maybe, in episode 5, then Javier will go back to mispronouncing Spanish words and get involved in family drama.

  • That is an awesome idea! I doubt it would happen, but that would be an incredible move on TT's part. I love this season, but I wish it was more 50% Javi, 50% Clem like TFTB. I hope TT makes it like that for Season 4 or whatever it would be called.

  • Javier is very eloquent.

Muertos, Papa and que are rare gems of Spanish language.

I'm Puerto Rican. I know what gems of Spanish are, and I know how to pronounce them. Please don't give me a short list of words you think are relevant, they're not and outside of David Hernandez portrayal of David, and maybe Gabe(cant remember his VA, but despite his young age and butchering of Mariana, which may have come from the studio), this has been poorly produced and touted as "diverse" despite the central characters being portrayed by whites rather than Hispanics. Its kinda like saying "Birth of a Nation" is a diverse product.

  • Lol what?

I was just implying how Javier hasn't spoken much Spanish.

  • It would be nice, but I doubt it would happen as it's Javier's story now and that focuses around him and his crummy family

Thats a great idea! But you know how Telltale is, so it probably won't happen

  • Hahaha haha! As if telltale would put THAT much work into ANF. We can dream about it.

  • He hasn't, thankfully. Mary Anna, mertos, that's all been pretty cringe worthy since his VA doesn't know a word of Spanish, apparently.

  • Nah, that wouldn't work well in one episode.

I'd wish for 80% Clem and 20% Javi and nothing else. Javier is the rookie to the Walking Dead and is nowhere near cool as Lee.

No pun intended since Javier is the ex pro baseball player.

I do believe they attempted to make him into like a Latino Lee/Luke for Clementine. I can see that but wouldn't agree with it.

  • It could If they executed it properly along with a 2 hour episode which was nearly standard in S1.

  • Quite the positive response to my idea, thanks! But I agree, it probably won't happen. But hey, never give up hope, eh.

  • Sarcasm isn't as easy to read online, so that's my bad lol

  • I would like that approach very much and it is very imaginative but I sadly doubt that's how the game's gonna go

  • I'm surprised he doesn't speak more spanish either. It's probably for the best, though, because my family forced me to watch Fear The Walking Dead in spanish and I was already having terrible flashbacks with the sneak peek.

  • He also says "Así es la vida" if you see one of the cars in the junkyard if was awkard as hell

  • Nah, I'll pass. I enjoy playing as Javier.

  • Lol. If the portrayers can, then it's not a bad thing. But when its forced, it'll feel that way in its execution. I feel where you're coming from, you're not wrong on that front.

  • I really like it, but I think if present-playable-Clem was a thing, it would've happened earlier this season.

  • Wow that would be amazing. But telltale would do that. They Give No Fucks

  • What does that mean? "That's life." or something lmao?

  • Yep. Exactly that.

But as pretty much everyone else has said here; I don't think it's going to happen.

  • Add this to the list of :
    telltale shoulda done this

  • Lmao if I got it right then something's wrong,

    Yep. Exactly that.

  • We really need some continuity here to build up some more emotions for the new characters. So I would prefer to continue playing as Javi as we haven't played as him that much so far.
