Where is this season going exactly

It feels like Season one and two had some sort of purpose or meaning but this just feels like we are in the middle of a season when were at the end

  • Judging by the background art, I'd say Javi's about to rally the residents of the New Frontier in one last push to salvage what's left of the place.

On the other hand, we've still got a loose end in the form of the little goofball. So... maybe they'll end it with us getting to that ranch?

  • Straight to the grave, because everyone's gonna die by the end.

  • Honestly I have no clue nor do I think telltale does either. It really doesn't feel like a walking dead "season finale" especially with EP4 being at a loss of direction with poor writing and pacing. The previous seasons had some purpose or meaningful goal to accomplish which was intriguing while ANF only has a vague and half assed story about family which is poorly written and developed.

  • maybe they'll end it with us getting to that ranch?

Oh, you mean that determinant ranch? I feel that info is too important to just be revealed in a determinant choice. Something is going to happen in which Clem is going to meet up with AJ either ways. That would be cold if Javi caused Clem to never see AJ again because of trying to spare Lingard.

Pfft. Yeah! Like that would ever happen!

  • Yeah with Season one we had The first days of the apocalypse, struggling for food, then looking for a boat. Season 2 Was basically a march to wellington but we were escaping from Carver, finding a place where the baby can be safe etc. Literally every episode has had a goal that we have been trying to accomplish but I have no clue whats going on in ANF

  • This is telltale we're talking about which means both choices will ultimately become meaningless.

  • Considering telltale said that nearly everyone is going to be determinant your not far off.

  • It's going to that DLC that revolves around Clem

  • I'm hopeful, but optimistic we'll get a clementine centered DLC.

Typically everyone besides Clementine as usual. I'd even see Javier as determinate before Clem. She might end up depressed and alone in some distant field.

Atleast that'd be a new unique conclusion...
    Ooh wait..!

  • That's a very good question, as I'm not sure how this will end given that many of the non-Garcia significant characters are determinant..

  • Same old shit happening.

    Worst season ever.

  • Javier and Clementine are going to rally together Richmond's residents and try retake the city from the dead. Afterwards, Clementine will find AJ at the ranch Lingard mentioned and discovers that he's with a good family and that he's probably better off with them.

    That's my prediction at least.

  • Down the drain.

  • The season is going to Nowhere'sVille and has been from the start. They make it up as they go along because they don't know what they are doing anymore

  • This season has felt more like a generic action movie than a Walking Dead game to me, its not terrible, but it just doesnt have the magic that season 2 and season 1 had, it just feels disconnected and weird, season 1 was and season 2 was all about survival, with the character plots happening as a result of surviving, this season feels more like a call of duty movie than a walking dead game

  • Worst season ever.

    no shit

  • In the recent AMA. Someone asked about who will live to which telltale responded it's up to you.

    When did they say that?

At first it was heading off a cliff, then it went over the cliff, then we had the nice sensation of freefall. Now we're just waiting on the sudden stop.

  • Nowhere tbh.

  • Clementine will probably realize that AJ is better off and leave him at the Ranch, and we'll get Season 4 revolving around Clementine or the 400 Days characters.
    Please?

  • Link?

  • What was the purpose or meaning of season 2?

    • Make it to wellington in hopes of finding a better life and safe community.

    • Ensure the safety of AJ

    • Escape Carver's camp

It could've been better, but at least the game had a clear and precise direction it was going in with relatively decent pacing.

  • Wellington was Christa's plan, then they were going to mirage town, Russian kid led them somewhere, then Kenny wanted to go north in the final episode but there was another option.

AJ was born in latter half of 4th episode. He wasn't that important.

We escaped Carver in episode 3.

These are minor, temporary goals. Season 1 was about surviving ZA, building relations and saving Clem. I don't see the meaning of season 2, except getting to ep. 5.

  • And we don't even have that in ANF. Rescue David is about the only main goal we've had which (determinately) Javier shouldn't be involved with. At least in S1&S2 there was an end goal that was built up to whereas ANF has been random sub love drama and no real direction or even hype.

  • To be fair, that's not really an indication of the worst so much as saying "There are determinate characters, yep.".

  • wait a second so that means every determinant character can live thought episode 5?
Lingard s probably gonna get ditched at the end of the season to help rebuild a new frontier or something .
We re probably getting an option to stop David from murdering Clint since he did nothing.
and Conrad s gonna super determinant king again and survive the entire season and leave with Javier or he could find some survivors from prescott and go rebuild it together with A Determinant Tripp.

  • Thank you, OfficialMonkey! Telltale Games is known for this type of behavior. After all of the times that we have heard about a new episode "coming soon", only to have it end up arriving several months later. I guess that only time will tell.

  • Don't forget that on top of knowing magic, the russians also had the accuracy of a stormtrooper.
