A COMPLAIN TO TELLTALE'S SUPPORT TEAM AND SAVE DATA "WIPED" OUT

edited May 2017 in The Walking Dead

First of all - I tried to send this to the support forum but I could not find it. And, please, if a moderator moves it over, keep it open for people to see and also comment on the general, thread, because I really want a solution

What happened:
I went ahead to play episode 4 right as it came out, for some reason the last part of episode 3 was shown as incomplete, so I replayed it again... After I finished it, I was trown into that starting screen that asks if you wanted to import your save date from Season2, I had none of it, I skipped that step and went into the save data to see what happened - SUPRISE! It wasn't showing my Cloud Save data data, so, I went to telltale's website to go and check on the "choices" section, strantegely, I had 2 sets of "choices" for A New Frontier:

enter image description here

They were "separated" into 2 sets, which I believe were caused by me playing in 2 different devices due to me changing my laptop - One with the choices from episode 3 and no choices for episode 1 and 2, and another one with the choices from episodes 1 and 2, but no choices for episode 3 - Likely a glitch that conflicted them and resulted in none appearing

Then - I decided to go to support, I sent a message on the 26th of April, got and answer one day later asking me to run the "Support Tool", I did it, then, this monday, I had an answer saying that this problem was caused by having both Steam Cloud and Telltale Cloud enabled ( Which wasn't adressed to me at all at any given point before the problem ) With no solution whatsoever other than "Replay everything" since it was all "wiped out".

I replied asking for solution, even one that just took wiped episode 3 to not conflict, so that I didn't have to play everything again, just episode three - Since the data was still in Telltale's drives, even if spread out - But I've gotten no answer up to date

This is, also, a former complain to Telltale's support for the overwhealming delay, inefficiency and poor reading from the support, that could have read that my problem wasn't related to my hardware right away - Saving up almost a week of waiting - and also looked into their own data, seeing that my save data was still in their sistems, and giving me a proper solution. And, also, I'd want a phone support to help me in a better way, my number is

I cannot play episode 4 until this is fixed, so, please, give me a fix.

I removed the phone number you posted as it is not safe to post it on a public forum and Telltale don't offer telephone support.

As you have already contacted support i am not going to move this to the support forum as it will need to be closed as the old support forum is closed to new posts, Telltale also don't offer support on the forums any more so nobody will be able to offer support here and i am unsure exactly what could be causing this.

The only advice i could offer is either attempting to contact support again or do some troubleshooting by

    • Attempting to reinstall the whole game.

    • Temporarily cutting your save files from your "Telltale games" folder and pasting it somewhere safe, relaunch the game and see if it redownloads the correct files.

Or worst case could be having to play again.

Ok, how do I know which are the save files from the Telltale Games folder? There are so many thing in there

Try cutting the whole folder out and temporally paste it on your desktop or another folder (don't delete it) and then restart the game again, this should generate a new folder and settings and hopefully download the save files again.
