The rare season 2 ending

I just recently discovered this ending that I didn't even know existed

It must be rare because I've yet to see anyone on this forum talk about this ending. It's actually my third favorite ending now, it's just so tragic that he has to watch the only 2 people he has left in this world walk away from him and it's entirely his fault. It took so much strength from Kenny to listen to Clementine request and not follow them.

  • No God damn way...is this...is this real?

Please God let this be real, I genuinely had no clue this could happen.
If it's fake then it's an amazingly well made one.

    I'm crying.

  • It's real, there are 3 different ways for Clem to end up alone with AJ

    1. Kill Kenny and leave Jane (most popular)
    2. Let Kenny kill Jane and then shoot Kenny
    3. Let Kenny kill Jane and leave him

  • I knew about the first 2, I just never thought you could leave Kenny in the same way you could Jane.

I had always believed Kenny would never let you leave alone with AJ so therefore their wasn't even an option to but apparently there is.

Damn, took me a while to realise that was a thing.

  • I'd say his speech about suicide in No Time Left kind of negates that.

  • I told kenny he was dangerous first play through. I've known you could leave this whole time, but obviously I stayed with him... For a few more days

  • I actually think this is the saddest ending you can get. I think this hurts him even more then even killing him.

  • Most people who let Kenny live don't intend to just leave straight away so thats why hardly anyone got this ending. Also you have to say the right dialogue choices to even get this choice.

  • Anybody else knew this since the begining? I mean, I tried a lot of variants of the ending... I managed to get all of them... I'm surprised no one knew this...

  • I'm sure majority knows this, it's been around here for 3 years.

  • Yeah, it's the one version of the Alone Ending. I believe there is very high possibility that this ending and Wellington one ended up like this:

  • I once saw someone almost get that ending. He loved Kenny so much that he couldn't shoot him but then he broke down into tears and started ranting "I hate what you've become Kenny!" He ended up staying with him though.

  • I did, in fact I kept going back to see the different endings. I also couldn't decide which one I liked best, but eventually I went with shooting Kenny and going with Jane. Kenny would've been a great guardian, and could even have helped Clem retain some of her childhood innocence (through allowing her to experience being "in need" or "needing help" rather than forcing her to rely upon herself and focus solely on survival), but that means fuck all in a world where death is quite literally lurking around every corner, so I went with Jane. Yeah, as far as capability of being a parent is concerned, Jane is the exact opposite of Kenny, but Clem is enough for AJ, and god knows how many more survival tips Jane taught Clem (the first, of course, being the knee and head trick). Jane made Clem stronger in so many ways.

Anybody else knew this since the begining? I mean, I tried a lot of variants of the ending... I managed to get all of them... I'm surprised no one knew this...

  • I think about it like this:

In the first Kenny's ending (the one OP posted above), Kenny got slapped in the face with a hammer. In his mind, he's done everything possible to keep both AJ and Clementine alive and tried his best to get them to Wellington, the place he boundlessly believed was an invincible stronghold, metaphorical paradise, in which they would be granted with safety, rest and childhood (for Clem and AJ). However Kenny never made it. Not because of his own helplessness or debility, but because the girl he loved so much and fought for so hard (even killed people for it) has left him. And it was his fault. He can't go after them, as he is lost and never will be saved. Clementine took the light of his life and he was alone, only with his pain and hollowness to keep him company. No one will stop him if he decides to pull a trigger.

In the second ending, it's quite the opposite. Kenny was brought back to live to protect Clementine and he had fulfilled his quest of keeping Clem safe and ensured her further safety, allowing her to live in prosperity behind the heaven's gates (again, the metaphorical Eden), but he himself wasn't accepted, as he's done so much badness and hurt too many people to be granted with such a good life. Kenny's work was done and he even might be happy about it. Believing in heaven and redemption, he shoots himself to tell Lee that Clementine is safe.

This is how I see Kenny's fate after he and Clem separated, but whether it was happy or sad ending it's completely up to the player.

  • I got this ending, some very good dialogue from Kenny.

  • I also like the one where Clem just shoots him in the head AFTER Kenny kills Jane.

  • The "rip the shirt off" dude?

  • Yep I know him as "FUCK YOU TELLTALE" guy

  • That one came so far out of left field that it ended up being kind of hilarious.

Clem's got zero fucks left to give.

  • Rare? By my estimation half the fan base let Kenny kill Jane therefore would have gotten the option to leave Kenny or forgive him. I forgave him. I was darned if I was going to end up alone or with another group of strangers after sticking up for his butt.

  • So was Jane

  • It's actually my third favorite ending now

    What's the other two?

  • Yeah, I remember this ending. This was the first one I got back in my old PS3 save (which I think I also used for ANF). It was pretty heartbreaking for me, but I knew that Kenny was too dangerous to be around. He was really unstable near the end. I had to leave him.

  • Yeah I definitely wouldn't recommend him, he really gets on my nerves. XD

    Lol Dekon

  • Yes and he doesn't beg her like Jane does when you leave her

  • I would imagine he/she's other favourites are Wellington or leaving with Kenny

  • I think it's just a matter of time when all the survivors will be suicidal. In such environment, when everyone around you dies, you are constantly surrounded by pain and grief? You can be mentally strong, but this strength runs out with time. You either go nuts or start thinking about giving up.

I do agree in part. I just wouldn't want to think of him going out like that is all

  • If you think saying God damn once is justification for asking, "why you cussing so much kid?" Then you probably shouldn't be playing Telltale games if it bothers you so much.

The word 'fuck' is probably used about 30 times by Kenny alone.

You call me a kid in the basis that I used the term, "God damn" when in the real world the most people who curse are most likely adults.

Educate yourself. You're just acting moronic.

why you cussing so much kid?

  • Totally unrelated but I love your username.

    I dearly hope not.
