Why do you want them back?

Well... It looks like that a limited(?) number of people want some of the old cast to return, like Christa, Molly(rarely), or even Lilly!
Fanservice is usually a backfiring move.

-> Think of "I got lucky" Kenny (I also loved him). His out of the blue return turned the attention of many players away from the cabin group, forcing(?) the writers to neglet their character development and perhaps the narrative path, although the multiple endings were a great save, untill they nuked the fridge. (you really had to shove those endings to bring Clem for a limited screentime and role, didnt you?)

-> Speaking of Clem, we experienced the other side of fanservicing. Your favourite character returns just to make you give a try for the new season concept.

So... Unless the return of a character adds depth to the plot and is not done just for the sake of fanservice, I think that bringing back old characters is out of the question.

  • Because people can't accept characters with unknown fate. I personally don't want anyone to come back cause they'll just die.

  • Agreed.

I mean, what are the odds of seeing someone after 5 years while you all are wandering around? In zombie apocalypse? Well, there are less people now, of course..still..

  • Molly could be anywhere that chick had Moxie!

  • That's essentially my thought. Any returning characters should be properly woven into the plot of the Season/installment in question in a balanced manner.

  • What is wrong with some characters' fate's being a mystery? Nothing. If it's ain't broke, don't fix it. Most of them are probably dead anyway.

  • i'm crying hahahahahha, 'there *are *less people now, of course..'

  • About characters you like... it's better to have that hope that they're alive and well than to see them die in front of you.

  • I somewhat agree in that it runs the risk of the new writers ruining their character arc and personality, like a certain... someone...
