How come there are no pets in TWD?
The only pet that we get to see is in season 2 when we meet Sam the dog. But then we all know what happens to him. I wondering why no one has any dogs or animals?

I'm not sure of the full reason, but I think they want more character development for the people. Probably the only reason we got to see the dog in Season 2 was because Clementine was alone.
Mostly because they probably all died within a month, You had the dead dog in S1 EP4, those puppies in the DLC, i guess you could consider maybelle :P
Because you have to put an actual effort to animate it, and ain't nobody got time for that.
Who want's to look after a pet, when its already so hard to look after yourself in the apocalypse.

Aren't we overlooking the most obvious reason? They became food. If this were reality Clem would have ATE Sam.
Pretty sure Starved for Help and 400 Days established that walkers will eat animals. With that said, I would love to see a character with a pet or maybe just a particularly resilient wild animal.
Also, apparently, Michonne has pet walkers and a tiger.
I can't really foresee any plots for a pet. Maybe if Clem comes across a dog again we find out she has a phobia of dogs.
Most people are not hunters or capable of catching their own food. It's very easy to catch food when it's are going to be running toward you for a bit of fuss.
Simple truth is that most people are going to end up eating their pets.

Because that is too much work, and you would have to constantly always step in dog-shit. You can hardly even find food for yourself, so where will the PC get food for a pet? That is why Sam ate Clementine's arm off, it's because he was hungry, his owners abandoned him because they only had enough food from themselves.
More likely the other way around.
They can barely take care of themselves.
Why the hell would they want a pet?
Some pets are loyal, like my cats hunt and bring me food because they love me, I guess you might have to have a loyal enough pet that will help you with hunting, but in most cases I agree a pet would be unnecessary.

Ahhh yes cats....in the great depression they were known as fence rabbits or roof rabbits....and they got eaten....so did dogs. I hell I could see quite a trade in owning a kennel before the zombie apocalypse.

Where food is scarce?? You do realize how much a pet is a responsibility, especially in a world where you might die in any second.

I can 100% say that I would never eat a pet dog or cat in the apocalypse, just because I would literally be so disgusted by it that I would just throw it back up. I know that sounds crazy and 'oh my god stupid vegans' but it's just the honest truth.
Most importantly: what if the apocalypse does ever get better, everyone goes back to a sort of normal life and tHERE ARE NO PETS ANYMORE????? WAHT THEUF CCCC

On that note, despite not having watched much of it myself, I wouldn't recommend it if you're squeamish/nauseous at all. Mr. Pickles himself is easily the best looking thing in that damn show.

Other than these forums and playing TTG and the Witcher...I do not get much free time to explore the net...I am a nurse at a hospital that is short staffed atm....I love my job.
