Feasible ideas about season 4(amended version)
(Updates:improvement of languages in order to prevent causing misunderstanding and antipathy.)
Got some ideas for season 4 ,or season 3 if you consider ANF as a spin-off.
Let's talk about ANF first. For me,it is passable. But comparing to S1 and S2,it is bad.Because a lot of us don't care much about Javier and his family,or more precisely,we care more about Clementine,Kenny,Jane(Kenny's death was written poorly.Knowing he is a important and popular character,he shouldn't have just gone down like that .)To me,ANF's quality is not good enough to be called the S3,more like a spin-off,the followings are merely my ideas about how Season 3 should be:
1.S3 story can start after S2 ending and before Kenny's and Jane's deaths. In it ,Clem is 11-12 years old,Telltale can just use the Clem's model in S2.
2.Separate S3 into 4 parts, each with its own story, about what happened after S2's 4 endings:Stay with Kenny or Jane,in Wellington,or just being alone.Make each around 3 episodes long. And most importantly,MAKE CLEMENTINE THE MAIN PLAYABLE CHARACTER.(<=the most important part of all. This is what Telltale must do if they are giving out a whole new season after ANF for me .)
3.I don't mind seeing S2's art style in whatever TWD games Telltale is going to make,I know Telltale is getting better and better with graphics, but in my opinions,I like S2's artstyle just as much as S3's.So if it helps to focus more about the story and make OUR CHOICE MATTERS MORE,I would be glad if they use the S2's artstyle.
4. In case, due to ANF,some players might think it's a waste of time to play S3 because it doesnt matter in the future. They can state that ANF is a spin-off,and make a S4 or something like that, which story start after ANF.In it,the choices players make in S3 will influence the story, like some people appear in S3 could return, something like that. That could solve their problem when playing S3.
These are my ideas. And if you really think about them, they could actually work pretty well:
1.Killing such an important character like Kenny and Jane in just some short flashbacks is definitely a bad idea(poorly written),and creating some whole new character that a lot of players don't really have emotion bonds with them isn't making it any better. If they could consider doing S3 like the ideas above,or just use them as the main story, people will have a lot better gaming experience as they are going to survive and explore the TWD world with Kenny and Jane, the character they mostly care about again, and play as the beloved character-Clementine,nearly the only one that really matters in the TWD series for most people. That's how you can make a good story to make people feel like they are attached to the character in the game.Telltale have done it well in S1 and S2,they have the potential to do it again.I am not saying it is bad to "remove" old characters, you just have to do it properly, like what Telltale do with Lee.That's more sensible. So doing a new season with Kenny and Jane (each with 3 (or even 2)episodes is enough) will make Kenny and Jane death more reasonable.(I have to admit the fact that they are dead might affect the gaming experience for some people, but I bet most of the people wouldn't mind it,they just want to see K&J in actions more,to make up for the sudden, forced death.Plus,it's worse if they do nothing about them.Flashbacks can't help it.)
2. In the ANF series, the story merely mention anything about what happened after S2 ending,I mean in at least months after it. So it would be easier because they don't have to worry about causing conflicts between story.
3. It is probably the best way to start a new story with Clementine.I guess we all know that TWD series can be so successful,it is all because of her.She is the one that matters the most in the game for me.I hardly think anyone will refuse a whole new season with Clementine as the main character.Old players who have played S1 or S2 would definitely love it,and ANF players will come in, too. It wont hurt to make a new story with her,in fact,it will helps to make a better story.
If anyone has any thought about the article,I would be glad to know in the comment section.Who knows,Telltale might consider using the ideas in the article, here's hoping.
Comments
Actually,there are 6 different endings:
1.Stay in Wellington
2.With Kenny
3.With Jane
4.Alone-Kenny's alive,Jane's dead
5.Kenny's dead,Jane's alive
6.Both Kenny and Jane are dead
And as being alone,Clementine probably wouldnt see Kenny and Jane again. So if Telltale could kindly consider the ideas above, there would be only 1/2 of all the chapters Telltale have to be a little more careful with because of Kenny and Jane.ANF wouldnt affect the story in the other 1/2.So it would be easier.
I just wanted to say that your formatting isn't really eye-friendly.
That is why we will never go back to what happened in season 2. Glad they killed em. Lets focus on new character Javi. Like him or not I don´t really care. If you haven´t fixed yours eyes at Clementine you would be able to start caring about Javier. I for one really love the new characters and new story, and it is already irritating me that there are so many ungreatfull people always crying that Clem is no longer main character. Fck that lol
See, here's the thing, though: If people don't like him, they can't and/or won't focus on him. It's not like you can just decide whether a character appeals to you or not. People can have their opinions. If they don't like what Telltale did with Clem in this season, that's their opinion and they're free to have it. This has nothing to do with being ungrateful.
But I don't see a reason to hate what they did... Did they like season 1? Yes they did they are sayin that its the best season anyway. Now we've got the same in season 3. Javier is the one who is able to replace Lee... When Lee was the main character and Clem just the side one it was still okay. And now when Javier can replace Lee and be the one who will take care of her everyone hates it? I don't understand .. Ofc she is not a little child anymore but she still deserve to have a parental love that Javi can give her!! Don't tell me this is what TT fucked up! That was the best step to make
I'm with you when it comes to Clementine and her being in need of love and family. As you know, there are several reasons as to why people dislike ANF. I remember when Telltale released the trailer for ANF and it was revealed that Javi is going to be the main character. Geez, people were hating like crazy. They didn't even give him a chance which was absolutely unfair. As for me, I really like Javi. I never expected him to replace Lee or anything like that. I don't think that's possible and I'm pretty sure that Telltale is aware of that aswell. The main issue I have is the fact that Clementine kinda became less than just a side character. I love the scenes with her (and Javi) and yet it still feels like that she's just kinda there, doing her own thing. I'm not saying that this is necessarily a bad thing. I just feel like they didn't handle it too well. But, to end this on a positive note: I really like what they did in Episode 4 in terms of character development.
I appreciate your kind answer
You're welcome, buddy. Always nice to have a calm and good discussion.
I don't particularly dislike ANF because it's ANF. I also like Javier, but is more of a typical good guy instead of a fleshed out, deep character.
The problem most people have with ANF, including me to some degree, is way less screen time for Clementine, contrary to what TTG said beforehand. I don't need her to be playable, but I, and many others, need her to be the, or at least one major, focus. Since it's Season Three, many, including me, believed it to be a direct successor of Season Two. But that's not what happened.
So if they do a Season Four, they should return to Clementine being the, or a major, focus. I don't mind being Javier again as playable character. I'd say keep the current group as a whole as possible, so we don't kill everybody off at the end of the season again.
And what some people don't realise is, Clementine IS TTG's TWD. It was about her in S1, it was with her in S2, she, alongside Lee and Kenny, are what made TTG's TWD. If they divert from that too much, they gonna piss off most of their veterans, fans and customers. As you can see already by the outcry happening. And I personally don't think it's THAT bad already. But I agree that it's the wrong direction.
As much as I would prefer Clementine as a playable character, and even more so than that the main protagonist again, that's one of the truest sayings. In Telltale Games' The Walking Dead, Clementine is the central point and the main focus, she is what makes The Walking Dead what it is. If you divert the attention from her story, and replace it with a cheap gimmick, it will naturally cause an uproar with the loyal fanbase.
I say make Javi(40%), Gabe(10%), and Clem(50%) playable in season 4.
Javi is running Richmond desperately trying to keep the new fractions under-control.He's under the process of trying to create a network with near by community. But doesn't have any luck because of their history. Also, grieving the lost of Gabe.
Gabe is MIA but we get playable scenes with him in a unknown house eating pudding on his long trip to Prescott. He gets into trouble and learns on the trip how to be a independent man.
Clem is helping rebuild Prescott with Elennor, Conrad(determinant), Ava(determinant), and the remaining survivors of Prescott. They are struggling with who is the "leader" because Prescott was never in any leadership before. Eleanor is the leader with most of her plans and wisdom coming from Clem because Eleanor is incompetence. Prescott is quickly rebuilt, but Eleanor is exposed by the community that she been leaving her obligations and plans to a teenage girl. The community wants to denounce her leadership, and wants to go back to none, which is going to cause problems with Clem staying in Prescott and causes havoc.
All their stories merge when Clem,Eleanor, and Gabe(harden survivor) go back to Richmond to seek some assistance in their "wild west problem."
