Timelapse: Comic - Game
How far, in what issue do you guys think the game is in the Comics?
I mean, Clementine was 8 during ''A New Day'' and ''Starved For Help'' and it's revealed by the Stranger in ''No Time Left'' that her brithday was 6 days ago. Meaning she was 9 during ''Long Road Ahead''.
Carl is also 9 during ''Issue 2'' meaning, that Carl is a few months older then Clem, but they are born the same year. And it's revealed in ''Issue 127'' (Over 2 years after the events of ''All Out War'' that Carl is now 13 years old. And we know after ''Ties that Bind - Part 1'' that Clem is also 13 years old.
So there is a few possibilities where Season 3 takes place:
- After ''Issue 127'' (2 years after ''All Out War'')
- During the 2 year time-skip between ''Issue 126 and 127'' (''The Walking Dead: Michonne'' also takes place during this timeline)
- Or somewhere between Issue 127 and 162 (During The Whisperers phase)
Maybe i missed something, so comment what you think. But i'm 99% sure that Season 3 takes place after ''Volume 21: All Out War - Part Two''.

Yeah, I think the writers confirmed it takes place after the two year skip after All Out War.
Oh, okey! Thanks man!
During the time skip, but considering that in the comic all cars are now unusable, my head canon is that ANF takes place 3 years into the apocalypse.
That's what bugs me. How did Javi and his family manage to find gas at a junkyard? That'll be the first place I look during the apocalypse.
That and almost every vehicle in Prescott has gas. Unless there was some stored gas somewhere stored in the airfield...
Well the junkyard car was a property of NF, so yeah...
Prescott was a well established community, well established enough to get raided by NF for their supplies, so they probably siphoned some gas early on in the apocalypse.
Carl is younger than Clem he was 7 when the comics started. it's clearly about 7 months or so before issue 126.
Carl was 9 when the comics started and was 11 during issue 126. He's just a little bit older than Clem by a few months. So in issue 127 he's 13 and Clem's 13 right now.
Carl's actually 7 i'm pretty sure Robert Kurtman said so
Carl is 13 once 127 starts, but Clem is already 13 before then, if we can agree that ANF takes place between 126 and 127 as Jesus is wearing his old get-up.
Really? I've heard they confirmed he was 13 after the two year skip. I'm so confused...
I think everyone just lost track of the time they've probably forgotten their ages. Sad
I've read there was some in-house debate about Rick and Carl's ages. When everything first started people claimed Rick was 22 but in the wiki it says he was 34 in issue 1.
I think the writers said it takes place after 126 but maybe a little before or after 127. I'm not sure.
I think Robert Kurtman should just come and say what's what.
At this point so far in the series its most likely he forgot the ages of most of the characters.
As you can see in the picture, Carl was 9 when the comic started. (Confirmed by the wiki).
I don't really trust the wiki because anybody can edit it anytime they want.
yeah you're right. I think it's fair to say Carl is 13 after all out war he has being acting more mature then anybody else in the comics.
Good point. But you never know.
Anyone can use wiki.
yet they point out the source and I have the first Compendium, I can just look for it in the second issue.
From what I heard it's really close to the current timeline in the comics.
"Kirkman also implies that the new Season will be more closely intertwined with the events of the comic series. "
Jeuss I cringe so hard everytime I see someone use wiki as evidence. Literally just yesterday a group of my friends did this to the wiki
Wiki is almost always wrong. Carl is one year younger than Clem. Issue 126 Carl is 13, Clem is 14. At the end of season 3 after the teased timeskip Clem will be 14.
I just was about to post that too.
Is Clem older than Carl? I thought Clem was 13 during Episode 1, not 14. Well, they didn't confirm her age yet.
But in Season Two she confirms she's 11 when she first meets Bonnie at the Lounge.
I'm so confused...
Clem is 13 and Carl just turn 13 as well.
If you really think I trust the wiki so much you are pretty much wrong, I know everyone can edit but like I replied to MRSHYGUY45, you never know, also I thought that Carl was 7 years old when the comic began BUT I've heard they confirmed that he was 13 years old after the time skip which made me think that I was wrong and he was 9 years old.
EDIT: Also, If I use the wiki I mostly use it to see some character's deaths on comics or some status of characters like (alive, dead, determinant, unknown) or some simple stuff like that.
11 in Season 2, 13 in episodes 1- 4 of Season 3. If there is a timeskip in episode 5 she will turn 14. She has and always will be a year older than carl. About a year and 6 months, actually.
If you didn't trust the wiki you wouldn't have used it.
Also Kirkman himself screwed up his own timeline and the excuse he used for it was "the characters don't know how long it's been" when really he hasn't thought that far. I think he realized that when looking at the show, comics and game the timeline is really out of sync and he refuses to address it.
Look, maybe I said it the wrong way, I don't trust it COMPLETELY, but I do at some points that have proofs. Like someone's death in the comics.
As an example.
Comic spoilers: Shiva's death.
I really doubt someone would draw it just to troll us.
Oh, right! This whole timeline thing is pretty confusing haha.
"Season 3 will actually be getting pretty close to where we are in the comics currently - like the books that are coming out now are roughly in the same time frame that Season 3 will be in." and that article was posted late April 2016. That's around when he realesed Issue 153. So according to him Season 3 takes part around the Whisperers phase then?
