The Worst Possible Ending
I won't get into the specifics here about why this bothers me so much, but it has really annoyed me that in this season the writers are so adamant about framing Clementine, a thirteen-year-old, as a mother figure, rather than the older sister figure she was set up to be in Season Two. I am also very against this whole notion of "Gabentine." As such, I think the worst possible ending, per my opinions, would be if everyone in the group died except Clem, Gabe and AJ, and Clem and Gabe form a romantic relationship and both become parent figures to AJ. I would lose my shit. I think I would actually prefer an ending where Clem dies rather than this, and I ADORE Clem and would be PISSED if she died.
This is obviously just my opinion; I'm sure there are many fans who would LOVE an ending like this. What are your Worst Possible Ending scenarios?

The worst possible ending for me would be for them to continue to have Clementine think of herself as AJ's mother, and for the Garcia family be reduced to a single surviving member - whether that member be any of the three remaining. I really am hoping TellTale pulls back from that mother role for her, because not only is that unhealthy for a thirteen year old girl, that also completely erases any hope for AJ to know anything of his real mother : Rebecca.
There is only one survivor that even remembers her name, and that's Clementine. I could get behind her thinking herself as a guardian, a big sister, or even that being her reasoning for not wanting AJ to be raised by anyone else. But that's not what the story has set up it to be, and that's horribly sad. It would've been a nice moment to have Clementine writing what little she knew about Rebecca down for AJ, or telling Javier that's what's in a journal that he discovers amongst her things. That she might've preserved the names of his mother and father, and what they fought for - a better life for him.
I don't think there could be a good ending for any member of the Garcia family either should one of them die now. They've lost everyone else. Everything else. It would be so cruel for the one left alive.
I feel like it's pretty likely that David will die. After the shit he pulled in the last episode, it wouldn't be surprising if he was killed by Joan or Clint (whoever is still alive), or even just another member of The New Frontier. Maybe, after seeing how crazy he really is, Javier himself will be forced to kill David to prevent any further damage.
Some people are theorizing that Kate is still alive, which I guess is possible if she jumped out of the truck at the last second or something. If that's the case, I don't really see Telltale killing off both Kate and Gabe in the same episode, as killing off two of Javier's family members within such close time proximity would probably seem redundant, but who knows?
I just thought of this now, but what could be interesting is if Kate is still alive and at some point in the next episode Javier has to choose between saving either Kate or Gabe, with the other one dying. Then David gets pissed at Javier for not saving whichever one he didn't save, Javier and David get into a fight and one of the outcomes of that fight could be Javier killing David to prevent David from killing him. I don't know, could be interesting.
So this just all goes to say that I don't think only one Garcia will make it out of this season alive, but I guess we'll see soon enough.
Kate is probably gonna be alive, and if she is Im not gonna be happy, the thing that made season 1 so good was how grounded and focused on characters and survival it was, but if Kate survives, its just gonna cement my opinion that A New Frontier is little more than a shitty hollywood movie, there has been so much action this season, which makes the scenes that are supposed to have tension have none at all, especially with all the gunfights where we see main characters introducing stormtrooper sundrome in everyone shooting at them.
If Kare survives it just means that they made that entire scene just to make you worry, not to mention how unrealistic it is, its the hollywood number 1 to create tension where there is none, but I really dont feel like TWD need that kind of tension, as it ruins the realism for badly forced tension
I highly doubt TellTale will kill all of them, but you did ask for worst case scenarios lol. I feel like they've been setting David up to die since the moment they first put him on the screen, so I'm not all that hopeful that he'll survive. If they decide for whatever reason to kill Gabe, I hope David dies. I can't imagine how hard it would be coping with the loss of both of his children, one of which he doesn't even get a chance to see again.
If Kate lives after that cliff hanger ending I'll be disappointed - not because Kate 'deserves' that kind of a death. Her escaping it would just be such a Hollywood cliche as it's been said that it'd take away from the finale. If TellTale would go with the choice between saving Kate or Gabe, then fighting it out with David - there would be only one Garcia left standing in a lot of instances - Javier. I would personally hope that both Kate and David would want you to save Gabe... but who really knows with the way this season's gone.
The worst ending would be if they left this series open to a fourth game...
The worst ending would be a set-up for the next season.
Kate will still be alive. Why would they build up 4 episodes of forced romance between them and all that time, David doesn't even find out about it? I see a confession from Kate to David or something that will cause a fight between the brothers
Well, Javi can actually tell David that Kate's over her at the beginning of episode 4. Although he does leave out the fact that the person she moved on to is... well, him. He takes it mostly alright, though. I think angrily punching a mirror is relatively tame by David standards.
That too
I want a Season Four with Season One qualities and a GROUP instead of just Clem surviving.
I completely doubt the series will come back to its roots. They had a lot of time to improve themselves.
They waste a lot of time working on a multitude of games. I don't even care about other series of TTG. Maybe TWAU. But other than those two, no.
They want too much in too little time.
Gabe survives.
Gabe is quite annoying but I don't wish for the little dude to die. Worst ending is a cliffhanger like season one.
As much as I hoped all the Garcias would end up dead, David has been fantastic. The writers clearly have no idea where to go, and seem to want to start over at season 1. But David has been well written in contrast to the other characters, I do hope he has a role in other spinoffs/sequels, he's a much more interesting character than borevi.
You realize most Hollywood films emphasize how little damage an explosion that has the force to damage buildings and the more fragile humans, right? I mean, its not out of sync with the way this season as been written, but shit i hope they don't go that route, she hasn't even been a likable character for me
The worst possible ending would be the one with everyone dead and Clementine and AJ still alive. Basically the same exact alone-ending of season 2. And season 1, if you don't count AJ.
The worst ending possible is either all the Garcia family dying and Clem being the only survivor along with AJ.
Or
Gabe being the sole survivor of his family and travels with Clem and AJ from now on.
I have actively disliked Kate and most of the "main group" for the most of the season, they all seem so disconnected and unrealistic compared to how they should act in a Zombie apocalypse 4 years in
If they just made the series about actual survival in the apocalypse again like in season 1, rather than a shitton of weird drama with no actualy threat or suspense to the characters, that would be a good start to getting back on track, most of the deaths this season has felt like deliberate attempts at forcing emotion out of the player, since most of the time the bad guys shoot like storm troopers, and only hit people when the plot demands it, walkers have also been nonexistant this season
Depending on where they go with the Clem/Gabe thing a season with them could actually be kinda interesting if you play as Clementine, since we get to both actually bond with AJ, which is something I really want to do, and we also get to know Gabe more, since we barely know anything about him except him being a bitch, we would also get a choice as to whether or not Clem wants to be in a relationship with him
I'm not a fan of it because it has mostly to do with the fact of Gabe's character being written poorly. That and I don't see another main, playable character dying again in this series.
There's a 25% chance of Gabe being the sole survivor of his family. It'll make no sense to kill the whole family only to leave the character most fans dislike the most alive.
Clem dies. It would add insult to injury if they have her and Gabe get together and/or she sacrifices herself for him.
I agree with Gabes character being very poorly written, most of all it feels to me like they took Gabe out of cryostasis 4 years into the apocalypse, and thats why he acts like he does, I know not everyone can be a "natural" like Clementine, but if you have been 4 years in the apocalypse, you should have some common sense, Mariana was what? 2 years younger? and she had 10x the common sense that Gabe has shown, and thats how I feel with alot of the characters this season, none of them really make sense, and only really exist for the plot, the only one who seems semi realistic is David
I also agree that Javi dying would not serve any purpose for the story, since we already went down that road, and Javi and Clem doesnt have the same relationship like Lee and her did, if anything I think David will either get his redemption by dying for Javi, or Javi will have to choose to shoot him in the end.
I really hope they go with 1 canon ending this time, instead of having characters end up 3 different places in the country, and if they make another season, they really need to just not have such a huge timeskip, and I would prefer Clem as protagonist over Javi, since Javi has been really boring IMO, mostly because most of the characters he is surrounded by doesnt really make sense when considering how long they have survived
Thats why most fans dislike his character, me included. It feels like he's been protected the most between he and Mari despite him being the oldest.
Nothing can beat Lee and Clem's relationship. They were like father and daughter while I view Javi and Clem as like brother & sister.
To me, I find Javi to be interesting if he was the loner type. I would've preferred his story to be finding his missing family (Gabe, Mari & Kate) alone until he runs into Clementine.
Here's a list of shit I don't want to see
And I think they shouldn't have made games based on Marvel and DC.
My god... I think I have a new worst ending. Everyone dies except Gabe and AJ, including Clem, who sacrifices herself for Gabe (would be a real dick move by the writers; taking a character almost everyone loves, relegating her to a minor role in this season, then making her die to protect a new character almost everyone hates). Then Gabe goes on to be AJ's sole parent figure.
VERY doubtful this will happen, but if it did...
Yeah, well, not that I care much about those universes.
I agree with almost all of these points.
Yeah, if all the Garcias die, this whole season would seem like pointless filler content.
I can't imagine that David would survive but Kate or Gabe wouldn't, mostly because I feel like David is being set up to die, but I'll get into that later. But yeah, having Kate or Gabe get killed but letting David live would seem like a questionable writing decision.
I don't know. This is The Walking Dead, after all. There have been hardly any major deaths in Javier's group this entire season (just Mariana at the beginning, maybe Conrad, and now Ava or Tripp). Not that I actively want characters to die just because that happens in The Walking Dead, but the thing about The Walking Dead, generally speaking, is that it's supposed to be realistic about how things would go in a zombie apocalypse, and so far it seems like Javier's group has been surviving phenomenally well so far. He lost three members of his family right at the beginning (dad, mom and brother), then everyone's been fine for the more or less four years whereafter The New Frontier starts. Then, over the course of four episodes, he only loses two or three more people. Do you remember how many people we lost this far into Season One? Or Season Two for that matter? I guess it doesn't have to be Kate or Gabe who dies, but for Javier's group to come out of this whole ordeal with as few casualties as they've had is questionable.
Yeah, if AJ's dead, that would suck. I actually don't care much about AJ as a character (babies can't really have distinct character traits other than "baby"), but if he's dead or ends up dying, it makes Clem's inclusion in this game seem even more forced that it already seems. The whole reason Clem joined The New Frontier, and subsequently had a beef with The New Frontier, was because of AJ. If he dies, then this whole sub-plot comes off as an artificial conflict simply to have Clem in the game for fan service purposes, and that's some shitty writing.
I actually don't think I would mind Clem staying with the Garcias, given certain things don't happen (cough Gabentine cough). It could potentially be a good-ish way to end Clem's character arc; having her start the season not wanting to join any groups because getting close to people hurts, but by the end she's found people she cares for again and realizes she needs those bonds to make life worth living, or some shit like that. Depending on how they do it, it could work. That being said, Clem has said SO many times this season that she's leaving the group, only for Javier to conveniently run into her again later. If after threatening to leave so many times, Clem decides to stay with them after all, they better make it fucking convincing.
Yeah, they need to do something with Eleanor. We could get a good look at her character by having a conversation somehow about why she chose to rat out Javier (and the rest of the group, too; let's not forget that Tripp was taken hostage, so clearly his freedom was not part of Eleanor's terms and services when she was talking to Joan). And she better have some good reasons for doing so other than "I just learned that Javier killed Conrad, so I'm gonna sell him and everyone else out now!" That can be part of it, but there should be some more complex reasoning being her actions. If we don't get to find out her true intentions and then we just have a confrontation with her and kill her or something, that would be disappointing.
I think it is almost inevitable that David will go irredeemably crazy in the next episode; some would argue he already has. This just seems to be the way the writers are pushing the character, and I wouldn't be surprised if the climax to David and Javier's relationship is a fight between Javier and David gone crazy, possibly forcing Javier to kill David to save himself or other characters. But maybe I'm wrong and David significantly cools off in the next episode. I kind of doubt it, but we'll see.
Yeah, I think I made it clear in the description of this thread that I would hate it if Clem and Gabe are the only survivors, regardless of whether they also have AJ or not.
Conrad's dead in my playthrough, so I can't really speak to this. From what I've heard, he becomes a good character if you let him live, so I think it's cool that they gave a determinant character a potentially important role.
Yeah, where the fuck was Max for the entire last episode? (For those of us who kept him alive, obviously). I know it can be hard to write in scenes with determinant characters, but he wasn't in the last episode AT ALL. They couldn't even add a short scene that shows him getting shot and killed or something? That would be disappointing, but at least he would BE THERE. He's pretty caught up in the middle of all this, so it seems weird that now he's just nowhere to be found, even if he's a minor character.
Clint died in my playthrough, so I can't really speak to this either. I liked Clint, though, so it sucked that David went crazy and killed him. But yeah, I would imagine Clint would have to change somewhat in the event that he offers a peaceful solution and Javier and David don't take it. So yeah, he needs some development if he's still alive.
It just doesnt seem like any of them was protected, since the first time we see them make a stop, they both go out, and go search for supplies on their own, which to me indicates mostly that Gabes incompetence is just bad writing, Kate also seems very incompetent and clueless, especially since she is supposed to be the one who kept it together
Funny you should mention the loner thing, since the reason I love Clementine is because I always felt that she wasnt quite fitting in any group she has been in since Lees group, she always felt like a loner to me, and I absolutely love the lone survivor archetype (not where there is only one survivor at the end of the season, but one who survives on his/her own and only interacts with people when necessary, which is a scenario I would love to explore in a future installment, although I dont know how they could do it when the game is so focused on dialogue
Gabe is not ready to be a father. I would love to see some kind of development even if he just takes care of AJ for just a week by himself.
Dialogue with herself would suffice then, or with AJ.
Another bad ending would be Clementine's death which will give me enough reasons to give up on The Walking Dead once and for all.
Agreed.
I feel you on that, they've been done pretty poorly considering where we are in the timeline.
Be even worse if everyone else lived on top of that. Pure Shenanigans in my opinion.
That would be a major
