Which character do you hate??

  • I'll put only the characters from ANF that are alive on my game:

    • Joan: She is a hypocrite bitch. She said "No one is above the law" but later on she says "I can do anything I want". She ordered the raidings that leaded Prescott, Wellington and other communities to death.
    • Eleanor: I did not killed Conrad, so I dont understand her betrayal. She just did it because she wants to stay safe, without thinking about anyone else's security.
    • Lonnie: That piece of shit is still alive, but not for too long.
    • Max: Unlike Lonnie, I have Max on standby. If he helps us in the final episode, I will try not to kill him.

I'm okay with the rest of the characters...for now at least.

  • David
    Kenny
    Larry
Nick (Don't ask why, I just do)

And, although I don't exactly HATE her, I despise the thing that Eleanor had done. But, I guess I should've seen it coming.

  • Yes, he was happy he threw his uncle under the bus. What a fucking piece of shit.

I also saw someone else play the episode and they chose to tell Gabe to not start that now, and Gabe just smiles and say "No time like the present." What a little shit! What? lol, WHAT?!

  • Yeah, seriously. That scene continues to bemuse me.

  • Hate is too strong a word. I don't hate any character that has ever appeared in TWD. Sure i have highly disliked certain characters, but not hate. The hate i have is for the direction the company has gone in the last few years

  • You sure you don't hate Gabe?
But Badger, heh? C'mon. Badger is hatable.

  • They would have been long gone if Javier got to Richmond. After the fall of Prescott, it took everyone a full night and morning to reach Richmond.

What Javi knew where the junkyard was anyway and it took them a DAY to get there for no reason at all. David would've got Javi there sooner and brought some people with him making Marianas survival chance much higher

  • That was barley knowing where it is and getting cut off by a herd. Rufus would have known how to get there faster

  • Unfortunately Tripp lived because I chose Ava (I hate Tripp), and I really want to just kill him because I feel like he's gonna be a threat since he really hates Javi now

  • When I saw that part, it just further justified why I hate Gabe and why I think he is a little shit.

  • Again, hate is too strong. To hate someone would have to have said person do something that breaks me like killing a close family member or someone who maybe blackmails. Someone like a cowboy builder who demands cash up front and then fucks off with your house half built.
Ashamed to say that this has happened to my mum who was conned. That is what i define real hate for someone. Hate that destroys lives.

So no, I don't even hate Gabe, but i really dislike the kid. Badger? Well if Telltale had done a decent job writing his character then maybe i would have ended up hating him because he was horrible to the core and truly psychopathic. But he wasn't given enough development for that

You sure you don't hate Gabe? But Badger, heh? C'mon. Badger is hatable.

  • Was just dicking around here, but I agree.
When I think about it, there's no one I truly hate, except maybe Badger. He didn't have much screen time, but his personality was downright dark and evil. Killing Mariana for fun was the key point. He had no reason to do that other than for pleasure, and would do it again, as he said. I don't have true hate, but let's say game-hate or whatever for his cruel character.
Other than him, no. Not even Gabe, but I seriously, truly dislike him as well.

  • No, not really. Like I said it takes a lot for me to hate a character. For me to dislike someone rather than hate, I either find them annoying or boring.

  • Its weird because I don't think Tripp is like Kenny at all. Kenny was just one of a kind. I can't describe it really. Apart from one or 2 moments when Tripp gets angry, it really doesn't resemble Kenny really. I can see why some think so though. If Tripp was Kenny's replacement, then Telltale failed miserably

(There's going to be a lot of harsh language in this post, please keep that in mind.)

    Season 1:

    • Larry- For obvious reasons. He did have funny lines though.

    • Lily- Only for shooting at Carley/Ben. That was completely uncalled for.

    • The St. Johns- Creepy Cannibals.

    • The Save Lot bandits- Especially the one that wasted five bullets on a guy he already shot in the face. Save the ammo you ass.

    • The pregnant woman in the Crawford video tape- That doctor was just doing his job, you selfish bitch.

    Season 2:

    • Carver- Do I really need to explain why?

    • Michelle (The girl who shot Omid)- Another "survival of the fittest" bandit and when shit hit the fan she couldn't even live up to that title. Good riddance.

    • Troy- There's absolutely nothing likable about the guy. He's a monster with no redeeming qualities.

    • Jane- She ditched a baby in the cold and provided no explanation as to why. What did she think Kenny was gonna do?

    Season 3:

    • Joan- God, I can't stand her voice. I'm not the only one right?

    • Gabe- If you don't want to be treated like a child then stop acting like one.

    • David- This guy just keeps making things worse. Clint was the only person reasonable enough to let him go and David returns the favor by shooting him in the face. Good job.

  • The pregnant woman in the Crawford video tape- That doctor was just doing his job, you selfish bitch.

What makes that one even better is that, if you listen, she goes on a killing spree with Logan's gun immediately afterwards she leaves the office.

The girl who shot Omid- Another "survival of the fittest" bandit and when shit hit the fan she couldn't even live up to that title. Good riddance.

Michelle. And she was technically a scavenger.

  • You are an idiot...first off...you assume David would know he was there in Richmond right off the bat...in any case it would have been late the next day or even longer before they could get there...Badger hit them at close to sunup...he was not going in there at night because the herd had hit the place. So if Badger had got to them...which he would....then Gabe and Mari and Kate would more than likely be walkers...after his psycho group had fun with them first.

If Clementine didn't crash the truck Javi would've made it to Richmond and then Mari wouldn't have been killed by Badger

  • No way...you are awesome.

In the only scene she was in she robbed Clementine at gunpoint, so she does fit the definition of a bandit. Though I was mostly referring to the mentality of a bandit.

You what it is: small reference pools. We had so much Kenny--too much Kenny, you can certainly argue--that Tripp being such a vaguely similar character just immediately encourages that comparison in some of us. Yeah, I know that he's apparently based more on a character named Sergeant Abraham from the comics, but that reference is lost on me cause I don't read [about] that. So instead, Tripp is just a guy that has a beard, spouts bitter sarcasm at times, has a random temper, is good with cars, is in love with a medic, is assumed to be a leader(though I don't recall them actually saying this), and is clearly meant to be seen Javier's best friend--all things that can said about Kenny.

What's makes him especially poking in my opinion is that fact that he seems like he's meant to be another Kenny, but clearly lacks understanding of why Kenny was Kenny in any given context and is very lacking in characterization and backstory to distance him from this comparison bar for a few select scenes and details.

  • S1: Vernon, St. John's

    S2: Carver, Bonnie

    S3: Joan, Eleanor, Badger, Lonnie

    Michonne: Sam, Randall

Mixed Opinions: Max, Lilly, Gabe, David

    Most Hated: Joan, Bonnie, Vernon

  • Okay, looking at some other imperiled examples, I'll bite: The only three characters I'd say I outright hate/loathe are Justin the Prisoner, William “Bill” Carver, and Jane. Though Lieutenant Badger was pretty damn close during the winter.

Can you explain how Tripp is similar to Abraham in any way besides appearance?

People like to say that Tripp is like Kenny/Abraham/etc but he has none of the fire, heroism, or values that those men possessed. Tripp is pretty dumb and he loses his cool over every little thing.

Pretty much. Which is weird considering the few scenes where his character actually mattered suggested he's a reasonable guy who handles things between people. I went into Thicker than Water hoping his presence on the cover and his presence during Badger's death meant he'd be rerailed and actually start being a noteworthy character again--nope!

  • Yeah, I agree, especially considering he was originally going to very much be more fitting of that description, but at the same time, he's just a dhickish slacker working for an Darwinistic tyrant among a majority of other characters who at least had some form of obvious vulnerability and/or sympathetic value, so I just ended up overlooking him.

Troy saved Clementine's life and was visibly uncomfortable with Kenny being beaten. I dont like the guy either but your statement is rather extreme.

  • Gabe is definitely the most hated character. It's not only the betrayal. The guy is not likable at all. I cringe every time he speaks.
