I'm blaming the writers for running out of ideas in this season. Nothing can beat the writing of Season 1. I hate him because the writers made him unrealistic.

but still, i genuinely like gabe and to see them treat his character this way is so disappointing. i also hate it how they don't even reinfo

  • Javi didn't betray Clem.
He made the right decision for the group in a tense situation.
Clem is the one who finally should understand this since she met broken groups of misfits before making the same mistakes.
Javi could have been killed by Tripp for example with the decision to kill Conrad!

I dont want a "reward" for shooting Conrad per say, but I do think there should be consequences for both choices in a choice, but as it is,

If I didn't kill Conrad and accept his idea, betray Clementine,Gabe will call me,"You fucking coward!Javi! How could you do this!?".
Fucking GABE...He ask me to shoot Conrad but when I kill Conrad,he said that I kill Conrad for no reason!THE FUCK WITH THIS ASSHOLE!?
Do everything what Gabe ask but he still going make me mad and being annoying.Fucker...!

Maybe save Conrad so you don't have to go through this scene? clem doesn't care anyway and doesn't bring it up in the later episodes.

  • Doesn't that mean you should throw the hate at the writers instead of Gabe?

  • i hope gabe can thoroughly apologize next episode and it still seems like they're going to develop him, so there is hope that he may not be a little bitchy asshole

  • Sorry but I cannot forgive him for throwing me under the bus, destroying my relationship with Tripp and Eleanor after everything I have done for him. It is what it is.

  • it just feels like they want you to hate him, then he'll 180 in the next ep. still, this whole situation makes no fucking sense

Honestly having Gabe do that was an extremely risky move and I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish with it. With all this Gabent

  • I recently found out that he didn't exist in the original version :D

  • Are you actually justifying Gabe's betrayal?

No, what I'm saying is that the concept itself is fine. The execution and all the "consequences" that result from that moment though, is really stupid. Notice that I specify the fact that it's non-determinate for if you killed Conrad period and how no one else beside Tripp(who's kinda pointless anyway) really acts like this big revelation from Gabe's outburst just happened.

Seriously, why is that scene there in that way and if they weren't gonna do much with it immediately going forward?

    AronDracula posted: »

No, but for real though, as someone who liked Gabe from the beginning and still does despite some concerns, this scene is just mindbogglingl

  • Ohh Bonnie

Who in the world blames an 11-year-old girl for not being able to save an injured grown-up? How ridiculous.

    Sweet_Bundy posted: »

In my playthrough, I remember telling Tripp that I shot Conrad. So yeah, I was VERY pissed off during this scene! Gabe is on my BIG shit-list, I really hate this kid for that. I don't think I hated a TWDG character this much since Bonnie.

  • They haven't really impressed me with the characters and their actions this season.

The only foreshadowing of Eleanor's betrayal, if I'm correct idk, was Clementine's, may I add cringy and cliche, talk about "I don't trust her. Idk why, no reason lol, but I just don't."

Gabe turning 180° on his own uncle with whom he had spent 5 years surviving and only wanted to save his life.

And Tripp in first two episodes trusting you immediately upon meeting you, saying "You're the boss, now Javi." He's what now?

Conrad lashing out on a little girl he's never seen before and pointing gun on her.

Kate being all kissy and stuff even if you curve her.

Awfully convenient that this happened after Eleanor seemed disquieted about the fact that she shot someone in the face and offered to risk her neck by helping a stranger and this murderer save the former's family by sneaking out against orders.

Conrad lashing out on a little girl he's never seen before and pointing gun on her.

To be fair, I was always under the impression that Clementine had a hand in making trouble in his bar in the past, hence why he didn't seem very welcoming of her to begin with, and was established as becoming recklessly aggressive about the New Frontier beforehand.

Kate being all kissy and stuff even if you curve her.

It was established that she's been attracted to Javier since before the outbreak.

What I dont get is I see comments everywhere saying "OMG clem foreshadowed her betrayl!!!!!" um not really, clem just said she didnt trust her for some reason she couldnt come up with. Foreshadowing usually involves the character themselves doing something that in hindsight shows there true intentions while at the time seemed innocent.

I mean elanor talking about a peacful solution maybe foreshadows it but her betrayl seems to be in a selfish vengeful way given her tone so that doesnt really work either.

Yeah, seriously, and that's another reason why that plot point bothers me. As if we didn't have enough of that shit in Season 2.

Also, her "vengeful" tone is only really a thing if you shot Conrad if I recall correctly.

  • I think the new writers misinterpreted the Shoot Conrad choice. It makes no sense for Gabe, who had Conrad's gun to his head and pleaded Javier to shoot him, to defend Conrad's "bargaining".

Because people wanted the Shoot Conrad choice to mean something, I guess.

  • I was literally thinking "And people bash on Ben for giving supplies out to the bandits" yet I see this fucking brat not only throwing his UNCLE under the bus but practically added fuel to an already existing problem....

I don't hate Gabe but seriously he needs to grow the hell up.

I agree. I chose to stop Conrad (only for the writers to give him the choice to get eaten by Zombies the following episode) just to protect Gabe.

  • (I was being..kinda sarcastic..if that's the right word. About the foreshadowing thing. Maybe Telltale thought that would be considered foreshadowing.)

I mean, why did they even put the "I dont trust her for no reason" in the game?

  • To push some people to side with Tripp over Eleanor despite the latter having your interests in mind more. It also planted the seed of Eleanor potentially doing something to screw the group over in people's minds, as well as further showing Clementine's newfound darkness, not that anyone would admit it.
