I love how almost every time I come on the forum now, there's a new discussion about how much people hate/love Gabe or what they want to do to him. Listen, I hate Gabe as much as the next guy, but even I'm starting to think these threads are getting a bit old, especially the ones that in some way relate to...the ship that shall not be named.

Because, in the game's world, people die, get eaten alive, throw curse words etc.
What's wrong with beating up a kid in a video game?
… moreSeriously what is up with games and kid abuse censoring?
Edit: added "video game" because people are forgetting what are we actually talking about on here.

"I don't know much about you folks, but you keep goin' on like this, and that girl ain't gonna make it. You've got to think of her as a living person. That's it. You ain't little. You ain't a girl, you ain't a boy. You ain't strong... or smart. You're alive."
Gabe has been acting like a reckless moron and he WILL die soon if he keeps it up, guaranteed. He storms off alone and pouts in dangerous areas, pulled the gun on Conrad in front of the whole group, attacks a guy five times his size and gets Javi stabbed, fractured the group by telling them about Conrad just to prove a point, refuses to be lookout duty at first during a perilous mission, and his first plan to save David was for him to just run in with a gun.
Javier and Kate's words have not gotten through to him and the consequences of his actions haven't shaken him at all either, even when it got Javi stabbed. He simply doesn't listen and he WILL get himself or other people killed.
This isn't a Carver and Sarah situation here. Gabe NEEDS to listen and if giving him a hard smack will make him rethink his self destructive attitude, then I would take it.
Okay, that's crap. Don't use Chuck as a way to justify this. I don't recall Lee ever hitting Clementine to teach her how to survive and even if Clem was 10 times worse than Gabe, or the same age, it wouldn't be okay. Gabe has fucked up pretty bad a couple times sure, but hitting kids isn't the way to solve things.

My how far this fandom has come.
Oh yes, perhaps I was wrong to want to hit Gabe. He is such a nice boy, what was I thinking?

Depends on what he does. If he gets someone killed, I think a good smack would gain his attention and help him come to his senses. Including an explanation why he deserved it and what he's done wrong of course.
If he just spills some noodles, who gives a shit.
Well despite his faults Gabe's never actually gotten someone killed, unlike a certain beloved character I know... I am of course talking about Clementine, you can argue that her actions led to Lee getting bit and I don't recall anyone expressing a desire to hit her. I expect I'll be countered with the point of "Well Clem actually knows she screwed up!" Well so does Gabe. Any mistake he's made (except pulling a gun on Conrad, I think?) he's well aware of the fact he fucked up, he apologizs and expresses a desire to do better and he actively tries to do better. Now outting Javi to the group about killing Conrad, I'll admit Gabe was pretty angry and arrogant before apologizing and admitting he screwed up, so I expect people won't be forgiving that anytime soon, however my point still stands.
Whatever Gabe has done and however bad it was, nothing he's done justifies getting violent with him. People are gonna make excuse after excuse about why they think it's okay to actually hit Gabe. He's a fuck up, he turned the group against me, bla, bla, bla! If anyone truly wants to hit Gabe it's because they simply don't like him and in my eyes that's always going to be a childish reason.

...But she was 8 at the time AND she got kidnapped. Gabe is 13 and complaining like he's 8.

At this point, not yet. If he does something stupid again and gets someone killed or gets the group in deep shit and STILL complains, then slapping him will be justified.

If Gabe was still 9 years old and couldn't fathom the consequences of his actions, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt as well. But's 13 and knows what happens if he does certain things.
Whether or not why Lee got bitten is debatable. The first action that got The Stranger on the plan was the group taking the supplies from the station wagon. Now you could say it's everyone's but Lee's and Clem's fault if you refuse, or everyone's but Clem's fault (cause she doesn't want to take the stuff) that Lee got bit.
Sure, Clem could've told Lee, etc. But she was a nine year old desperate for her parents. And if someone is offering those parents, you gonna take the chance. Switch Clem with Gabe here, and both get my forgiveness.
It always depends on the circumstances.
I also meant if Gabe gets someone killed of immediate actions. He hasn't. But if he would.
He was also the one scream "This guy is crazy, shoot him!", basically telling Javi to shoot Conrad. Whether that is justified is debatable, but if you do, he rats you out for something he wanted as well. If you don't, he calls you a "fucking coward".
Apologies or not, it depends on the circumstances. You can't fuck up on purpose and apologize and expect, that all's fine. Apologies aren't a out-of-jail-free-card. You can apologize, but if you meant what you did, that apology counts only so much. If it was unintentional, that's another matter. If you did it intentional but then regret it deeply, okay.
But Gabe wanted to save his dad, and risked saving his dad just to make him feel better in that situation with ratting Javi out. Although we all love Clem, if she'd behave like that, she'd get shit from me too. She has some free because we know her, but I don't give her indefinite leeway.

No, I wanna hit that little fucker.
A stupid kid.

No, it isn't enough!
We must rise against...the ship that shall not be named.
Nope.
It isn't in any of Javi's character to beat/abuse a child.
Yep.
I wanna beat this whiny child up as Javi, because that's what my character, deeply inside, wants.
Why the heck would Javi even hit his nephew. Seriously guys.

It is Clementine's character though.

He is not a little kid anymore, he is a man.
If you even need to ask the question then there's a problem.
The ship has already sailed, credit goes to @Jayroen.
He wants to be a man, we should treat him like one (that fucks up).

Being nice has nothing to do with it.
A "pretty please" and a smile won't solve anything either. I am not for full authoritarian, but anti-authoritarian isn't the answer.
I never said it would.
EDIT: If Gabe fucks up, go ahead and give him hell if you think that'll solve it, just don't start swinging at him.
THE FUCK
I want to kick his balls out
Reach out to @Jayroen for that.

They gave us an option to hit Sarah which she didn't deserve so why not Gabe who definitely deserves it?
That's what he'd like you to believe, anyways.

hes not even a child hes a typical horny teenager
Where the hell are Gabe's hands going? I was okay with this ship but whoever made this has taken it too far

I swear if you really think that, then you should get some therapy XD
