Is Javi's strength unrealistic?
I was just thinking about how much endurance and strength this guy has especially after episode 4 and if that is realistic or not? Take a look. He was able to fight of a bulky looking guy while stabbed in the shoulder. If that wasn't pushing it, he was able to the drag that guys body with his injured arm of all things. He was also able to push a giant armored truck with the help of two scrawny kids. I doubt Clem and Gabe were doing most of the work there. In previous episodes he also seems to show a lot of endurance as he was able to take a freaking wrench to the face and go through a window and still manage to get the upper hand on Badger. He also seems to be unaffected by tear gas like a normal person, as he was able to fight off walkers in episode 2 and New Frontier soldiers at the end of episode 4. I'm not much of a baseball fan so I wouldn't know if playing baseball makes you superman but what do you guys think about Javi's strength? Is it ok as it is or is Javi secretly a super hero? Can you find more instances of his epic strength?

Javi's a professional athlete with ripped abs. He's at the top 5 percent of physical fitness comparative to the common person. He should easily be able to take out a majority of people that gets in his way in a fight. I'm surprised that he didn't beat down Badger sooner.
They have to sell him as the strong and Prince charming poster child of the walking dead somehow.
Main characters can often become superhuman due to lazy writers. Lee kind of was no exception either. Took on a herd with one arm but gets bit by the hobo zombie on the sidewalk. Also wrestles the stranger with one arm at full strength without passing out during the struggle. One arm dependant on choices of course. Clem can drag Lee, a man possibly quadruple her weight to safety in the midst of a herd without being devoured..Clementine can out run and overpower a grown man chasing her in All That Remains or kicking down doors like Bigby wolf, survive a gunshot so close to the heart during freezing temperatures, falling in a frozen lake and being alright etc...
He used to be professional athlete, so no. I didn't find it unrealistic in the slightest that he had high strength and endurance. Although in all fairness, the tear gas was actually a pretty good point.

It makes sense if you ask me. In fact I think Javi is single handedly responsibile for keeping his family alive this whole time. No way someone like Kate did all the work as he claims. I also attribute his strength to his athleticism.
Who would have known playing baseball would translate into being such a badass. Maybe I should start playing ball. Forget football or basketball or soccer. Baseball is where it's at in the apocalypse.
He pulled that guy with the arm that wasn't injured. And when he got stabbed, the adrenaline would have made him fight better.
Kate's brains did the work and Javi's strength did the work.
Together they were a good team to handle 2 whiny kids in the ZA.

Being a big fat guy doesn't mean he is strong. Especially not stronger than a top athlete.

Clem is badass but that doesn't mean she is physically strong. All of her badassness is at the end of a gun. Still pretty cool if you ask me

Lee would be very weak from so much walking and blood loss and fighting through a herd to fend off the stranger who had nothing happen to him. I didn't think the stranger looked much weaker than Lee...about the same. Lee wasn't really buff armed.

This scene with that guy who stabbed Javi was really nonsense. How much strong Javi is, still the guard guy looked strong as well and he managed to stab Javi in the process. But Javi knocked him out only using his other arm. I dont know you guys but I dont think this is likely. Telltale sometimes made some nonsenses in order to keep him/her alive and made fans love him/her.
Clementine was able to push the door in 2-3 kick in season 2. That was bullshit for me as well.

I can say as someone in the military that some people just aren't affected that much by tear gas. I guess it's a genetic thing, but some people are very sensitive to it (a few people vomited everywhere when we had to go through it) and some people just seemed to have irritated eyes and not much else.
I think the technique matters more than her strenght, she was also in the army so she probably knows how to hit someone to knock them out, at least that's what I thought I'm no fist fights expert but I've seen lots of tall and strong men get knocked out by smaller / not so strong guys.
Yeah they should have just had Gabe jump in and help instead of Javi still overpowering the guy with his hurt arm
All I can think of now is tyrion in ASOIAF & Game of Thrones and how he manages to kick ass even for his size.
