If you hate Gabe but love Kenny you are a hypocrite!

  • Yeah, I just looked it up and realized this. Still, the dialogue option saying that Conrad went crazy made it fairly obvious that I or Clem shot him, or at least to me.

The "Shit just went south" line especially (that always gets used to describe a fight that ended with someone killing each other). Honestly leaving him behind for the zombies sounds way worse than shooting him.

Actually there never is an option to tell them you shot Conrad. You can say "I don't know where he is", "we left him because he attacked us", or "the walkers got him"

Ironically, I dislike Kenny and like Gabe. Perhaps I'm biased towards nephew-sons.

  • But because he is Kenny he gets a free pass.

Some people don't see "everything" Kenny did as a mistake though but anyway this is beside the point. I feel as though Gabe has been with written terribly inconsistent throughout each episode. I have felt the writers have made it up as they go along.

I just think people don't like Gabe because he comes across as annoying as hell, even the actor's voice (no offence) rubbed me the wrong way. I guess that he's doing his job right in 1 way at least.

That's what I was getting at. Although I can see why Clem is still more of an appealing character because her stepping out of line is rare.

  • ANF episode 1, I didn't like Gabe and wished he had died instead of Mari. However, as the game went on, I started liking him more (probably because Telltale set him up as someone to care about, and I tend to follow how Telltale sets things up). Yeah, he's whiny and fucks things up, but he's really just a kid, and I think Javi could (and seems to already be in my game) guiding him in a better direction.

I know a lot of people don't like him because he ratted you out, but I wanted Tripp to know that I killed Conrad right out the gate and chose the closest dialogue option to insinuate that. I felt justified enough that bringing it up wasn't a big deal. On top of that, if you speak to him afterward and asked him what his problem was, he apologizes and said that he was just tired of being put on the back burner. Not exactly unexpected for a 14-year-old with daddy issues.

Kenny might be hard to explain as I haven't played Season 1 and 2 since they ended and don't remember a ton.
In my gameplay of season 1, I didn't agree with Kenny on a lot of things (although I never picked any dialogue options which were being an ass to him). Nevertheless, I didn't expect him to refuse to come with me to save Clem, considering he cared about her and used to be a dad himself. Overall, if you played the game not agreeing with Kenny, he'd get mega-pissy, even if you had a good reason. I didn't like S2 Kenny because he was mostly the same in my eyes.

tl;dr They're both whiny, but Gabe is 14 and Kenny's in his 40's. Gabe hasn't done anything as bad as my Kenny has. Gabe can grow out of the shit-kid phase.
