What if ANF Episode Five is Too Big?

Do you think From the Gallows could be deemed too big and split in half like Ties that Bind? If this were to happen, how would you feel about that?

Comments

  • You know what, as long as it feels like two different episodes(with everything that implies) that feed into each other like Ties that Bind does, I think that'd be the most satisfying option.

  • I feel like I have already seen this comment before in another thread, but didn't know where XD

  • That was a good laugh. At best EP5 will be barely 90 minutes If we're lucky.

  • You did: the Waiting Thread.

Oh wow, negative Nancy is here already lol.

If the episode was deemed too big and they split it into two like the first 2 were, then that would make sense because wouldn't it technically be a 4 episode season as is right now if we finished with 5 episodes? Doesn't it seem like they're cutting corners otherwise since they split one episode into two, and didn't give us an actual 5th one? I'd say we actually deserve for this to happen.

But honestly, I'm expecting it to be as Chibi said, a short boner kill of an episode, just like the rest has been.

It's called being realistic to just correct you right there. This idea that telltale is going to have this big grand finale which is soo massive in size it has to be split is comical. S1 EP1 was longer than EP1-2 combined and they didn't need to split it. S1 had 2+ hour episodes which never had to be "split" because they were "too big" for one episode. Also telltale said that they reduced the length of the episodes to play in one setting which means that they are not going to make a 2-4 hour episode since they don't deem that a "one setting" length.

  • So far every finale ever for a TT game is short as hell (that I've played). I don't believe this will be any different.

  • Don't worry I know you're just telling it how it is lol. I agree with you, it's a shame too, I didn't even know telltale's excuse for making episodes longer is to finish in one setting. That's just pathetic.

  • I hope they don't split it like Episode 1 because it's "too big". I will be disappointed.

  • I think @Dont_Look_Back mentioned it's 75-80 minutes long. It's not too big at all.

  • It should be pretty interesting! I wish episode 5 duration is long than the other episode!

I think you're right because there is so much situation will happen:

    • Kate situation
    • clem and aj
    • clint and joan death
    • return the supplies to the owners/ community
    • javi takes over the richmond etc
  • Apparently the episode is only 70-80 mins long

  • "Episode 5 is so big that we had to split into 6 episodes and the rest 5 episodes is TWDG Season 4!"

  • Then it would be shorter than TWAU Episode 5.

  • As long as I don't have to pay extra, then it's fine.

Actually, I think Ties That Bind was gonna be 2 Episodes anyway. Only thing was that they needed to give us both in order to establish what this Season was going to be about. It also relates to just how closely tied together those two episodes were at the time. I think thats also why they wound up getting released on the same day. All that said, I seriously doubt that they'll split the finale.

  • LOL!!! Yeah this episode will sooooo big like Episode 1 was. Took me hours to complete!

  • You know what, if they do a Season with 10 episodes a 45 mins, I buy it.
Remember TTG's new shitty "in one sitting"-rule of thumb.

  • ...And if the release schedule is quick (I'm talking weekly here) then for sure I'd buy it.

  • I won't. I am sticking to what i said. I won't be buying another Telltale game again. Even if 10 episodes were made for a season, that won't tempt me unless they replicated every single thing from season 1 back into their games. We all know they won't though...

  • I thought you mean it split into two seasons, like this episode ending with some terrible cheesy cliffhanger and continued three years later in ANF 2.

I am starting to think that Telltale has new time restrains for The Walking Dead Game Episodes.
I believe that if Episode 1 and 2 were an hour and a half long each, it would have worked and the splitting would be understandable.

  • No not really considering season 1 had 2 hour+ episodes. Telltale have no excuse

  • The episodes will be even shorter by season 5. 20, 20 minute long episodes ;)

  • No Telltale will put out a 90 minute episode at best. That as fans is the best he can hope for

  • So you can do a whole season in one sitting, yay!

Yep XD In S6, the episodes are 5 minutes long. Insert Job or someone else comparing these episodes to eating breakfast when you're running late for work.

  • And E1 is too large and has to be split in two, 2.5 min each.

  • This is essentially a representation Episode 1 Parts 1 and 2:

  • what i hope is that the season gets the surprise 3 episode add on that minecraft story mode got not that i would want to pay for more episodes but its just that this season s not that big and having a second story arc after the thing with richmond finishes to add more to characters like David and actually give a character to others like Eleanor .

  • That would mean 6 episodes, so I don't care. What I hated was an half size episode taking the place of a full episode. If we had 6 episodes, I would be fine with those two short ones.
