it would be alot better if they did retcon that and say that what happened in the flashbacks was Clementine having a nightmare about them being dead and then showing a new flashback of what happened to them:
Jane: The scene about Aj s surname still happens and Jane tells clementine to go search the perimeter you then get a hub to look around and you then hear something . Clementine hides and sees that its Tavia who s with the family and determinantly the rest of the 400 days Crew .
If the family was invited into Howe s Clem would hear that their plan was to have the family appear and pretend that the perimeter s safe and then shoot them in the back while if the family was refused then they re just outright planning to get into a gun fight With Clem and Jane.
Clem begins to run but is noticed by tavia and they start shooting at Clementine . Clementine manages to get back to Howe s and warn Jane but then Tavia and the others catch up to them Jane and Clem decide to split up.
Tavia and the father from the family find her and Clementine shoots the father but Tavia disarms her and prepares to shoot her but during a QTE Clem manages to take Tavia s gun and shoot her Clementine then rushes to where Jane went and she finds the dead Bodies of the Kid from the family and a bloody Nail file Making Jane s status unknown while it still being possible for her to shown up.
Kenny: The flashback begins with Kenny and Clementine walking and talking about what they re gonna do when they get to Florida and Kenny decides that they should make camp there. After they get the fire started they re attacked by Scavengers , Clem and Kenny run from them but they catch up to them on a dead end with only a drop to a river behind them Clementine and Kenny begin to shoot the scavengers when only 2 of them are left one of them runs out of ammo and he charges at clementine and tries to kill her with a Knife Clem s dangerously close to falling from where they are and at the same time Kenny manages to kill the other scavenger and he sees that the scavengers is trying to kill clem and he pushes him away from her without thinking which makes Kenny and the scavenger fall . There is then a slow motion QTE where you can try to grab Kenny s hand if you click it Clem tries to grab Kenny s hand and their hands touch but clementine fails to grab it while if you dont press it clementine watches with a scared look on her face as kenny falls.
Which also makes him unknown .

I'd like to see Christa again but it's such a big coincidence, even more so after Clem reuniting with Kenny in season 2
