After the extreme hate Gabes been receiving, I would be genuinely surprised if he was the PC in next season
people just speculated that due to his arc, the foreshadowing of his development, etc. it wouldn't happen due to his popularity, and if he does survive i'd expect him to be a deuteragonist or tritagonist

A Brand New Character/Something else: Preferably a female of a race we haven't seen much. Need to keep things as fresh as possible when you're on Season 4 of a constantly shifting story like this and help keep the diversity as well.
The Garcias should be put on a bus for a while. That was my story from the beginning and I'm sticking to it[ for as long as possible].
Lilly, much like Bonnie and Arvo, has the door left open with a hook to be picked back up after getting stuck on that road and could make for an interesting protagonist with Season 1 connections. No Molly though, unless it's a spin-off and they're deliberately going in a similar style as Michonne's DLC except more comicbook-y.
Becca and Tavia would've been the 400 Days characters I'd have chosen since that'd allow Season 2 to have more relevance besides AJ and nominally Jane. However, Becca is more or less obsolete given ANF!Clementine, requiring a different direction; meanwhile, while following up on the Howe's residents is a good idea in general, Tavia brings the risk of over-saturating the PC roster with Black women.
Season 2 more or less wiped out most of it's characters besides Arvo and AJ runs into similar issues as Tavia.
And an older Gabe is best saved for a season or two later as a supporting character.

Kinda hard to answer considering most of them suck and/or are villain-dominated.
I like how the North Carolina Scavengers are on here, but not the St. Johns.
But I suppose it's a toss up between Michelle, Arvo, and Brenda, though my ideal villain would be more along the lines of the Stranger in terms of what they represent in regards to the player character.
Hmm...I suppose Conrad since Eleanor hasn't been given a lot of screentime. Though I would've loved to see more of Francine.
Meanwhile, Eli is about on Mariana's level of meh: nothing particularly good or bad about him since he's so basic in his little bit of screentime, but he's at worst nowhere near Badger's level of shit. And Tripp is probably the worst new character.
It can still be in America, but I'd like to continue staying away from the country and would like a different type of area as well. The West Coast is practically a must, though.
Though I'd also be interested in cross water relations being explored, hence my recent musings about plot involving a Russian Invasion.
