They're gonna keep making bullshit reasons until the punk has been killed off and will be forgotten about just like Ben and Nick.

Ben is actually memorable while Nick is absolutely forgettable.
I have a feeling Gabe is going to pour his heart out to Clementine only to be heartbroken.

Also, you gotta understand that literally every character from the previous seasons got "forgotten", except, maybe: Lee, Kenny, Jane, and maybe Christa/Lilly. Ben and Nick actually get mentioned in conversations, unlike Duck, for example (Not saying there's anything wrong with Duck, but I'm just saying that Ben and Nick aren't as forgotten, as some make them out to be).
I'm not denying that Gabe has fans, but I'm pretty sure they all keep quiet because of all the hate they would get, if they "came out".

Yeah, he sold you out about Conrad (Didn't happen in my playthrough, but that's beside the point)... And he has a crush on Clementine... Uh.. Okay. That's literally it. The first part is crappy and I get that... But the hate about the second point makes no sense. There's a pretty high chance that she will reject him, if he ever decided to make a move, so what's the big deal?

Nick may have been screwed in terms of writing in episodes 3-4, but his 4th episode death is so bad, that it is legendary.
It is everything you should NOT do when writing a death scene.
So, I'd say he's memorable enough because of really crappy death (along with the wasted potential).
It's because of Gabe's crush on Clementine, and that Telltale seems to be supporting that route in this season. Hell, maybe it's the reason why they created Gabe in the first place.

From a narrative perspective, Gabe taking his fathers side over Javier doesn't make much sense. The kid has been with Javier the last 4 years, how is it possible that he'll let his dad who he just met beat the living crap out of Javier??

I'm not planning to fight David (My Javi rejected Kate and went with his plan in Episode 3) but I get the feeling that Gabe will be the reason for the fight. He probably tells David that you and Kate were being romantic or whatever.
Also why do I get the feeling that the helicopter scene might end bad?

i think he'll end up defending javi, considering that he has been against violence this entire time. i doubt that he'd like to watch javi get his head get fucking bashed with a wrench.
