Will we see the return of 400 Days protagonists?
I doubt it, but at the same time
I want to believe..

No way
They still have to tie up the 400 days shit.
Because if they just ditch 400 days then that DLC was for nothing, and planned but scrapped appearance in Amid the Ruins was also for nothing.
As much as I would love to see them again, I highly doubt that Telltale would bring back those characters by this point.
They missed their chance by having 400 Days protagonists come back. It would've made this game less shittier in my opinion.
Also, if they made Arvo, Bonny, and Mike return and showed us their corpses or let us kill them ourselves? Then I'd enjoy this game alot more.
At this point the chances are slim to none of them returning. Telltale really missed an opportunity of efficiently utilizing the 400 days characters and stories into S2 which I think would have been quite interesting. I would still like to see Eddie and Kate return as main characters in the series.
Bonnie is determinately dead in the lake with Luke which means she's most likely not making a return.
Agreed, they definitely missed their chance on multiple occasions.
First they missed the chance to flesh out the Howe's survivors by giving them at least one conversation with Clementine. They also could have used the survivors who stayed at the camp once the group escapes Howe's.
Then they missed the chance to casually include them as members of the New Frontier for a simple and easy fanservice.
I'm all for having some characters remain unknown but the number of characters we are not getting closure from continues to grow. They had a strong roster in 400 Days and I hope they do something with them in the future, even just a fan favorite like Nate or Eddie.
I hope we don't because I didn't like any of the '400 days' characters.
But I also feel like there wasn't a point in making the DLC if all the characters didn't get put into the main game somehow...
Also, I think we may see some of the rest of the characters because I feel like if Telltale are going to add SOME '400 days' characters into season 2, but not ALL of them, that the rest may be added to season 3 somehow.
Only way to see them is their dead corpses or their zombified bodies.
I agree, alot of people forget/don't know Bonnie is a determinant character because for her to survive, you have to break the ice on the lake to try and save Luke - which most people did, but if you don't, there's no way for Bonnie to get out of the water.
I broke a hole in the ice for Luke to get out and afterwards Bonnie climbed out of the hole you made and blamed you for Luke's death, which annoyed me because it's probably her fault as she walked towards Luke when he told her and Clem not to as too much weight would be in that area of ice and it would break. But no Bonnie decides to do that. And they both fall into the lake.
And I can't remember how I found out that Bonnie would die if you didn't break a hole in the ice to save Luke, but I did - so I didn't smash the ice for her to get out ;-;
What exactly confirmed this beside that pothead Eddie being clearly visible on the title card?
I think we'd be (un-)pleasantly surprised if they actually did something with them at this point. Personally, Tavia, Bonnie, and Becca(with maybe Shel) are the only ones I thought could've been useful in what was supposed to be Clementine and the Cabin Group's story, while Wyatt and maybe Eddie in particular could just stay gone.
Vince, Russell, Roman, and Nate could've gone either way to a lesser extent.
It wasn't for nothing. It teased Bonnie's inclusion in the next season. Telltale never said all the pcs would have main roles.
It would have made more sense narrative wise to use the 400 Days characters in place of the cabin group as defectors from Carver's settlement. Telltale could have made them all non determinant to go with Travis then played up their disillusionment in season 2 that they may be better off on their own again.
Tavia. My phone put Travis.
The only 400 Days character worth keeping would be Nate IMO. But no, they all gone.
