As much as I hate him (Ep5 Spoilers)

When I saw Gabe's death, it was kinda got me. I knew the fact that he is a piece of work but still, he was a kid and needed to be lectured I guess. Even I said that if he dies its fine by me, now I am thinking that he shouldnt have ended up like this. After he said that he want to be like Javi and started to see David's uncapable nature, it doesnt make it okay. Am I the only one ?

  • Gabe's complete schizophrenic 180 for Javier was too much for me to even feel much.

  • He changed - that's what you actually wanted. You thought you were a bloodthirsty monster but Telltale made you reveal your bright side :)

  • Finger's crossed that he survives my playthrough. The transition between "stubborn teen Gabe" and "E5's Gabe" could've been a lot better, but the latter one is the Gabe I can finally grow to like. Took him long enough to kinda wake up.

Indeed, what we learned is that everyone can change.

  • although i liked him all season, this episode was a highlight for him and the only part i was disappointed with was him siding w javi for the majority of the episode, but then siding with david for plot reasons. i'm glad that his death ended up being emotional rather than a "good riddance" death

I mean I am not a sociopath but I really went upset when he sold out me like that and his attitude about saving his dad. I thought he was keep being like that, previous episodes also improved my idea as well. But he finally manage to see things and act like a capable kid. Thats what made it much more sad.

  • You can say that for most of the characters, honestly. It just so happens that Gabe had a lot more to work with and was a major part of every episode except Part 1.

  • It's the I see things in a different light and my perspective has changed now that my life is fading cliche.

  • I completely agree with you. I dislike Gabe a ton but watching his death was hard to watch, mainly because he's only a kid. If it were Tripp or David in that position, I honestly wouldn't care.

I still think him and David dying is the "right" ending. Javi and Kate can start a new family and raise them how they wanted them to be raised, without a hotheaded father.

First time I was happy and sad at the same time for a character death
I mean yeah I wanted him dead to cus he throwed me under the bus but not this way.

He looked up very high for his uncle his last word were more painful than a chainsaw come through my chest.
God dammit gab why couldn't you die with the mute option.

  • Yea. I KNEW Gabe had it in him. I just wish that telltale could've just let him live regardless rather than making him determinant. I'm sorry, but that ending was FUCKED UP on so many levels.

  • Yeah...Yeah. I think I need to let it sit for a bit longer, but I'm definitely mixed on it.

i'm fucking pissed but satisfied at the same time. he got to 180 and actually do shit such as killing on screen for once. then, despite him being very hated to the extent that any death with him would not have an emotional impact, he was given an emotional death that upset pretty much everyone. even kate deadass died offscreen or went missing, which i didnt expect

  • IMO, that's why the others endings didn't satisfy me. Kate and David die offscreen while Gabe's was onscreen and is very emotional, probably one of the saddest in all of TWD.

And That's how it should be.

  • I agree, his wasn't emotional at all. I didn't even think Kate's was emotional either, it was more of a "oh shit wtf" moment.

  • Question question, what events actually trigger his (Gabe's) death scene?

While I don't want that to happen in my playthrough, I'm curious.

  • Save Richmond with Kate, but make sure Clem goes with you. If you weren't on her side for majority of the choices in the game, she'll go save David & Gabe.
