Javi's "Death"

I have to say that I'm impressed with how elaborate and eloquent they handled a meaningless death scene that majority of players will never even see. I have my problems with this episode, but I do appreciate the little details and depth this episode had with your choices actually influencing who lives and dies, although it's likely to have little to no influence in the next season. Even so, they handled a lot of the death scenes with class this finale

However, I do have to give credit where credit is due. A random death scene that actually had some meat to it to the point where I actually thought this was an ending.

  • Tripps death wasnt that bad. It was obvious he would die but it was executed alot better than avas lol

That's a really neat detail. I like when they do more elaborate and intricate failure scenes, like this or the dinner scene in Telltale Game of Thrones Episode 104.

  • Welp, I think Telltale is trolling us with Javi's 'death' (because I thought it was legit like, it was meant to happen, and then comes the 'You Are Dead' screen, goddamn)

  • Just because Tripp's death was a bit better than Ava's, doesn't necessarily make it good. His death was meaningless to the point where characters shrug off his death not even 5 seconds after it happened. His death wasn't satisfying nor did it have any weight, it just seemed like Telltale were just trying to kill him off as fast as they could so they could be done with his character and focus on the Garcias rather than his death actually serving a purpose. It would been a lot better if they pulled a Conrad and actually allowed them to live to the end and how Ava/Tripp would react to seeing Javi and David fight.

  • Too bad it wasn't canon.

I guess we can't get everything we want.

  • You're right and like i said i saw it coming from a mile away. Im just saying it actually had a small buildup to it unlike avas. Thats got to count for something. It is a shame though

  • Can you imagine someone playing this and thinking it is legit?

Their reaction to learn it is just a game over scene would be priceless.

  • Ava's death was a joke. Tripp's was alright.

  • Being 100% honest this was kinda dumb, they were going for an [Attack] type thing in GOT, but in GOT it all happens fast and then it hits you that its a game over.

This goes on for a really long time, if you messed up the QTE and see Javi get munched on, and then GAME OVER, and it turns into Javi telling Gabe what to do before its too late, just, really takes you out of the story more than if it was just a failed QTE and you died.

Like, imagine youre at the end of Season 1 and when Lee slumps over you just get a GAME OVER
