Gabe Earned It

I don't care if people say "not my clem!11!" "ugh so gr0ss!" I honestly think Gabe had earned that kiss from clem, but only because of that situation, other endings and stuff = no kiss.

Think, he was brave enough to be able to kill himself at 14; as well as david. AND he was dying so I accept the kiss in those circumstances and I think everyone else should too.

  • Well unlucky to you I didn't get that scene because I never was a Jane supporter but my clem hugged him twice which I think is better in my onion....yes onion

  • Nah, Gabe doesn't deserve that kiss.

  • It's weird how only Jane's ending can trigger that scene. It's like the other endings make Gabentine not a thing but Jane's can.

Unless she only felt bad for him and just kissed him out of pity.

  • I think everyone else should gain a proper understanding of how quality storytelling works.

  • Janes ending results in Gabentine.

What more proof do we need to show that Jane is the worst ending?

  • Gabe dies though when it happens so no need to worrry about that anymore.

  • Well not every 42 Clementine kissed him, so there goes your point.

  • Just don't.

  • Oh I will

    Just don't.

  • Maybe Kenny told her to never trust teenage boys. XD

  • This is another reason why Jane and her endings SUCK!!!

  • Jane probably talked about how great the sex was with Luke, so Clem wanted that feeling too, so when she saw Gabe...

    "Now's my time to shine..."

If anything, this proves picking Kenny was the right choice.

  • Why Jane's ending only triggered it? Was it because she had an affair... or whatever that was, with Luke? Because Howe's air had romance in it? What why?

  • It's not only Jane's ending that matters, I had it and the kids just waved at eachover before she left.

  • I honestly don't mind it, but I'm laughing at the fact that people keep calling it a "relationship" and that's why they're mad. It's not a relationship- They had a crush on each other. She's a thirteen year old girl. Clem having a crush on a dude around her age is not surprising in the least. I do think Gabe earned the kiss to a certain degree, but it really depends on who you build your Clem to be. If it's not in her characteristic to kiss Gabe, then she doesn't. If she's still holding on to emotions instead of pushing them down, then maybe the more human side of this is very understandable.

Regardless, my Clem just held hands with him and pressed her forehead to his. No kiss involved.

  • Honestly Jane and Kenny are old now like I don't even care about them anymore lets just move onto the newer characters

    Oh I will

  • I will always care about Kenny and I look forward to him being referenced countless times in future installments.

It was quality storytelling honestly. Very well done. People here have a weird cling on Clementine. I had the Gabe death scene on my first playthrough (second time, I had her admitting she had a crush after I saved David and Gabe.)

Well I mean, the fact hes determinant now just proves hes not going to be in season 4 anyway, so people here have no reason to be upset. If anything, the fact she likes Gabe alongside things such as her saying she started her period (ew but yeah) and other clear emotional developments just shows Clementine is growing up and I silently hope Season 4 takes a flashback like approach like ANF because Clementine growing up is the best part of this trilogy.

  • Because Howe's air had romance in it?

Yes. Jane found a Romance Perfume and would use it everyday. After her death, Clem would carry it as a reminder but it pilles inside her backpack and now she's poisoned.

  • I honestly don't think Gabe earned anything. I'd say Clementine deserves to have some semblance of happiness or a kindred soul to find in her life.. Unfortunately she had a crush/fell in love with a guy that is dead...

Or if you didn't go that route, hugs him and goes on her merry.

I don't hate that, you saw it coming. I thought it was .. natural.. honestly. Sucks they couldn't commit to it.

He didn't have earn it--she was probably gonna steal one anyway.

  • She was obviously planning on "Luke-ing" him for the lulz, but just settled on a goodbye hug/kiss depending on the ending since Javi happened to be around.

I started to like Gabe in the middle of episode. But the way he left me was so unacceptable. After the way his father losing control, he was still picked David over me. And I dont even understand why Clem did such a thing after he did that. I dont think he earned it. He left us over his mentally sick father. I felt betrayed and Clem should had as well but I was disappointed when I saw this outcome.

  • He left us over his mentally sick father

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, he did what he did because he didn't want anymore feud happen between his family? Because he didn't want this family conflict to divide his family apart? Maybe he thought that if he took his father's side, then David would at least calm down a lil' bit, because he knew exactly how it was like if David loses his mind..

You can see the way he looked at Javier uncertainly before he decided to go with David, trying to make up his mind of his plan..
And if you go after them, Gabe will admit that the car crashed because he tried to stop David, so they could go back to Richmond..

Gabe called him an asshole, he knew David is hot headed and dangerous. Even I saved David's ass and helped him most of times, he screwed us over and Gabe started to see that finally but he left us and he knew what his father turned into. He beat him when he tried to kill Javi. Still he went with him. Thats enough reason I guess.

  • I'm not convinced he left of his own free will. He states he made David crash - makes me believe that he was forced into the truck.

  • Yeah, that's what I'm talking about

He tried to get David to stop and go back

  • Let me rephrase:

He realised a little too late that David was beyond saving (after he was hit by his own father), that he wasn't the same father he used to look up to...

That's why when David closed the garage door, you could see Gabe's shocked expression. He was forced by David to go with him. That's why Clem said "he took him".

  • When was it shown or said that clem had a crush on him? and what did he do for clem that warranted that determinant kiss? him realizing david was a scumbag doesn't give him any bonus points or redeem him. He clearly should've known that when david attacked javi. And when he kept attacking when you decide not to fight back. He sells javi out and throws him under the bus even though javi saved clem and gabe's life. And it only happens if he's dying. If clem had a crush on him or liked him she'd kiss him if he's alive or if he's dying. She doesn't even invite him to travel with her. She doesn't even say she likes him at all.
