Absolutely. They changed the moment when you can ask the question, at least, and people seemed to be happy about the change. She still reveals it, but only after you support her and get her fiance out of cryosleep earlier than scheduled. So it is like, now that she trusts you she will tell you her true reason for coming to Andromeda.
Honestly I think it was better than with DA:I. While the trans character in DA:I was more important and actually had some further development, the dialogue options were very weird, like if your character is forced to sound transphobic.
Well, the main problem with the Andromeda trans woman was her reveal of her "dead name", especially to a stranger. Trans people simply do NO… moreT reveal the "dead name", otherwise it would not be a "dead name". The developers of Mass Effect made the character feel like "she was needed for our minority-checklist".
It would've been better if they just got rid of her dead name completely. She could still "reveal" her transition in some way without using the one thing that is basically the materialization of a trans person's suffering.

It would have been better, yeah, but that would require them to re-recorder the voice line. They wouldn't have been able to push the patch out so quickly (they changed it two weeks after release). Although, they could have made that change as a band-aid fix until they re-recorder the line, it would have been better.

Javi: (in response to 'you're a real charmer') Takes one to know one. (¬‿¬)
Jesus: That they do. (¬‿¬)(¬‿¬)
But nothing beats the real t… morehing tho, if you can, you should replay and see for yourself. I have yet to find someon on yt to pick that option yet XD
I wasn't "bothered" by anything. What is it with this utterly moronic age when people get chastised just for saying "I didn't want my character to go in that direction"?
If gay people wrote, "I didn't want Javy to be straight" I wouldn't write "OH! YOU HATE STRAIGHT PEOPLE!" We just have a vision for our characters. It's why we make decisions for them.
Jesus (sorry-- no pun intended) christ....
People are just falling all over themselves to be p.c.
Dude it was like two seconds of flirting.
I was more uncomfortable with Kate's constant advances towards Javi even though my Javi clearly wasn't interested. I haven't even played E5 yet and this is the only scene I'm excited to get to.

In comics Jesus is homosexual. So, yeah he was flirting with Javi. I also pick "I like you Jesus" option and then told him that his armor looks rad. I literally cock blocked him.

Can 100% confirm: Javi is bisexual.
After all, they always say write what you know... ;-) #representation
Some people seem to confuse a few seconds of "flirting" with romantic feelings or love interest. It's hilarious. Where I live, a bit of "flirting" is a way to tease another person in a humoristic way.
Seriously, when I saw the option, I was not expecting Jesus to flirt with Javi and then... I got super excited when I heard Jesus' low tone … more So I went with the 'so they say' option and my oh my, did those two flirt!!! Those looks were as clear as day!
Like my heart, it just... Man... I was not expecting it but like Javi is a bi baby and I love him.

That shows you that it all depends in the person's culture and understanding of things. Society has raised people to just like one specific gender ( preferable the opposite gender ) than Most people, not all, find it offensive. I would say Men is much easier to show their dislike while women hide it and were taught to be more understanding so they can show some respect when they see FxF. This is the reason why we mostly see -guys- mentioning their discomfort.
In a way, I prefer this flirtation between Javi and Jesus. He was a cool guy from the start and kept his promise to help out. There is a good bro relationship and may be more if they want to. It felt more natural and sincere compared to kate's approach.
I felt irritated on how much the game was forcing me to have some type of relationship with Kate. In one flashback, when she grabbed my hand. I decided to maintain my hand there without moving because that would have been my real reaction, too. I would be confused on why she decided to do that knowing my brother. After than I kept telling her no to everything. There was never a starting point for me to have chemistry. My Javi was too busy taking care of his nephew and niece, waiting for his brother, and killing the Muertos. Kate has bad timing. Also, I didn't like how many times she always end up almost killing me by her poor decisions to do things which makes me dislike her more. I would say she is an ok person, but I wouldn't rely on her.
It is funny on how she asked me to give her some distance and that she "doesn't dislike me but needs to have some time away from me" lol ( she didn't like my rejection and how she uncovers her attraction to me while rejecting my brother. That was a low blow) and when I said sure no problem ( because I actually appreciate that distance. I don't want her all over me ) she was surprised and disappointed by my answer lol.

Yeah, men are so much more unnecessary trouble when it comes to LGBT+. Of course not everyone, but it's simply true that men have a lot more problems and "discomfort" with it than women. But no matter how much culture/society influences people, it's still up to us as individuals to show empathy, acceptance and decency.. instead of behaving like disgusting creatures.
Culture/religion/society are no excuses to act ignorant, LGBT-phobic, xenophobic and all these other horrible things.
I'm totally supporting KateXJavi, but I agree that it wasn't very well done. A New Frontier didn't do a great job with its writing overall. The Kate/Javi dynamic is one of these failed aspects. Telltale obviously wanted Javi and Kate to be together. It looks like they tried to keep an open door to say "No" to Kate at the same time, just for the sake of making it a player-choice. And by that they failed to deliver the necessary development to show us why their bond was so strong and why they love each other.
But I guess, if they developed the relationship more, it would remove any logical way for Javi to reject Kate. In my opinion, Kate should not have been a player-choice, their love should be set in stone the same way Clementine's attachment to AJ is. Sure, it would've removed a "big" player choice, but would've helped the story to be better.
I have to say that the "Fight-David"-scene in E5 really annoyed me. The way Kate and Javi ostentatiously kiss in front of David even threw me under the bus and I was like "Dudes, NO! You can't do that. Not now. Not this way." It was just so poorly done and felt forced to let David go into full Rampage-Mode.

Hearing that my favorite character is bisexual seriously makes me so happy. I can't thank y'all enough for this!! I don't get to see a lot of bisexual representation, especially in video games. This made my day ❤️️

I will say it'd have been nice if you made that clear earlier though. Like given us the option to flirt with Tripp or something, I dunno. Just, I was playing as a character I could relate to on that level for 5 episodes...and I didn't even know! That's a shame imo! Especially considering how rare non-straight male playable characters are

glad to see I was not the only one selecting that option

I will state that I was far more annoyed by Kate's near-raping, yes.

Guys, you are the best. Really, this is awesome.

More like "Queer Perfection"
You literally said that seeing two men flirt makes you uncomfortable, that is homophobic.
Well... This has 100% made my day... I believe this is, hmmm, double confirmation as well as the scene from the game... Triple. Damn... !!! :D
Yep, he was totally flirting.
You win :P

Oh my god... I forgot about that! Looks like that may be one of Javier's key flirting lines :P
THIS MADE MY DAY. THANK YOU TELLTALE, AND ADAM IN PARTICULAR. Omggggg

I came on this thread to support my good friend Adam, but then there was a Mary Berry gif and this has now made my day.
Well damn... I'm glad that I used that gif XD I feel like I've been blessed :P
Not into men myself, so I avoided the option.
ahhhhhhh this makes me so happy

My JavierXLuke fan-fictions are 1 step closer to becoming canon
Is it rep? Probably not. But I'll take it ¯_(ツ)_/¯
It'd take this over nothing. Nothing meaning, another straight character.
Welp... I always thought a head was in the rocks...
Oh god, it pains me to think of the days I was obsessed with Luke XD
My boi king of mermaids will return
