How do I get the scene where Javier goes to save Gabe & David without Clementine?

because I am not sure if when they make me choose between Kate & Clementine if I don't answer then that's how I go alone?

    You go alone if you reject Ava's offer to join The New Frontier, inject AJ then say goodbye to him, in the Clem flashbacks (at least that's how I got it)
