According to reviews, ANF is the best.

On their Facebook page Telltale posted a link to Twinfinite's Ep5 review, which is also a whole series' review. It goes by the title of "This is the most tailored narrative that Telltale Games has done to date."

Let's just look at some inconsistencies that truly caught my attention while I was reading it.

it’s the quality of the writing and the conversations the characters have that really steal the show

Definitely. Oh, the examples.

"Just jump off already"

Gabe: "You''re the best dad I could've asked for, uncle Javi. I'm staying by your side"
Other Gabe: "David's my dad. I need to be with him!

"fuck you fuckstick"

Ava commits suicide due to terrible writing
one milisecond later
Javi: I'm sorry man! I know Ava was important to you!
David: I would've died a long time ago without her. Thank you Ava. Goodbye my friend.
sounds of Ava's body being devoured in the background

A New Frontier’s finale is superbly written, allowing the fantastic characters and their unique personalities to shine.

unique personalities

h

  • Javi is ya regular brave protagonist caught between the hammer and the anvil.
  • Tripp is that bearded guy who tripped and died, right?
  • Eleanor has cute butt and betrayed us I guess
  • David is Kenny 2.0
  • David and Kate switched their goals.
  • Gabe went schizophrenic and back.

the dialogue feels natural and grounded within the context of the series so far and the decisions you’ve made along the way.

Jesus: hi Javi, nice work with getting Richmond back on tra...
Javi: Nice armor, bro. Wanna take it off? I'm bi, btw.

A great finale to the series that brings plenty of closure.

Closure with seven or eight endings? How is that closure?

That's about it, I'm sure there's more, feel free to post other reviews which are at the same level of bias and deceit, so we can have a nice day and discuss the things people do for money.

I'm just making a fun out of this, do not start a flamewar, I repeat, it's not worth it

  • Seriously, those are the worst reviews I've ever seen. They never played Season 1 and this game is full of bugs.

  • Small no-name reviews sites will do whatever it takes to get retweeted by big companies

  • You left me nothing to say.

  • Yeah this is why nobody reads reviews any more.

  • They give it high scores based on elements everyone with a brain knows doesn't deserve the time of day.

A good example why gaming reviews can't be used for anything, especially those from professional "game journalists."

  • Nah, just sad.

    Mad?

What would Lee say if he knew his never-to-be-forgotten performance fueled up the series which evolved into such an abomination?

    You made my day

  • Hey, here's IGN's one. It was less shit that Twinfinite's, but still pretty deceitful.

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/05/31/the-walking-dead-the-telltale-series-a-new-frontier-episode-5-from-the-gallows-review

"From the Gallows" has one of the most moving scenes in a Telltale series.

Dude, it's not even close. Although the author didn't specify what ending he was talking about, I doubt any of available ANF's endings was at S1's or S2's emotional level. In the previous games it was great build-up which ended with an atmospheric conclusion, causing people to discuss it for years without end. From what I've seen, hardly anyone was emotional during Kate/Gabe/David's deaths and if so, it was for the sake of people dying.

For example, I consider Gabe's death tragic because he was a child, and no child deserves such fate, but I his dying scene was just "meh".

care about Javi as much as I cared for Lee and Clem back in season 1

    b

How can you even compare that?

    A New Frontier is satisfying

    b

Satisfying by leaving Clementine hanging, after having her chase AJ a whole damn season? Her presence was supposed to serve a purpose, which wasn't even achieved. Hur dur, IGN.
