Was episode 5 Unfinished?

a few weeks before the release of episode 5 there was a leak of the episode s choices which were mostly all inplemented into the episode:
The choice with Jesus asking javier to lead Richmond or not, The thing with Tripp and Ava not surviving the Journey , the scene with Conrad s cowboy book , Forgiving Eleanor or not so here s the deal there were 2 main things that were missing from the leak in the game: A choice with Clint where you decide with Him and Eleanor what do about the supplies Joan stole and a scene with Joan where you would choose whether to execute her , Exile her ((Abiding by Richmond s rules.)) or keep her in Richmond and those two were not seen in the episode also if you re thinking well it s a leak its not confirmed then there s the thing that the same person that posted this leak posted a leak with some of the choices you saw in episode 4 before it got released ((Mostly the extra choices you get from the forum.)) and they were all right.
So this probably means that the episode was rushed and some scenes were not shown.

  • The episode did feel rushed and anticlimactic. I think you're right.

  • there were some good scenes but others felt really rushed like Ava s death scene for example.

  • i don't think so, it was just scrapped pretty much. but the episode did feel poorly written and rushed.

  • It sure as shit felt like it.

  • I think they just genuinely wanted to finish this season as quickly as possible.

It certainly feels that way. It was fine up until the fight with David, but after that,I couldn't believe how rushed it was. Y'know that essay you have to write for school that you start to work really hard on, but halfway through, you just throw up your hands and say, "Fuck it. I don't care anymore. I just wanna get this done." And then you just slap something together with the hopes of getting at least a C. That's what From the Gallows felt like to me. Easily the series' worst episode. No contest.

  • they had to get to minecraft asap.

  • well i wouldnt say the worst that honor is taken by Ties that bind part 2 for me cause atleast episode 5 had some decent scenes.

  • the only reason why i wouldn't count it as the worst of the series is because they had some good death scenes and like some good moments. but it's only better than ties that bind by a little bit, like damn i was pretty hyped up and it ended up being a huge disappointment.

Yes lots of things don't make sense:
    1. David is going after Joan/Clint for revenges and suddenly stops with no explainatinon.
    2. Gabe can be with David at the end of ep 4 not in ep 5.
    3. Conrad is right next to Javi at the end of ep 4 not in ep 5.
    4. Joan/Clint disappear.
    5. Ava and Tripps deaths.
    6. Tripp appears even if he died in ep 4.
    7. If Javi shoots walker Kate the entire herd doesn't even care.
    8. Max and Lonnie both disappear if they survive.

  • The pacing was terrible, so the episode did seem rushed. Also, it was too short for a finale.

    1. Tripp appears even if he died in ep 4.

That's more of a humurous glitch than anything else.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing right away. One of the reasons that's probably the worst of the endings.

  • I guess the ending is still good as Javi can choose not to shoot Kate making the ending sensible.

obviously the walkers didn't want to be rude and gave Javi some space to mourn

  • The season towards the end felt incredibly rushed with very little effort and quality development. EP5 especially felt rushed and slapped together at the last second to wrap the season up asap.

  • Ava's death was really shitty, let me tell you that much.

  • yeah but at least ava will live on as a meme

  • The season we got is half of what the original season was supposed to be. We have found an unbelievable amount of scrapped content you could make your own bigger and better game with it using what was scraped.

  • Best we can hope for is telltale does right with Clementines story.

  • it's so disappointing; games we recieved prior to anf in twd franchise were so much better (although season 2 can be considered rough at the end) but now, we get short episodes with little development that sometimes don't even feel like they're from the walking dead. clementine was 100% thrown in there as fanservice because we never actually got to find aj. large teams of writers were changed every episode, which led to inconsistent writing. they rushed this season so that they could quickly move on to other games like fucking minecraft as well

  • worst death scene in the entirety of telltale games if we dont Count Nick s.
