An Idea For Clem DLC and New Male Character: First Half of Part 1 EDIT
This Idea For Clem DLC builds off of some ideas that me and Gohan FGC have been tinkering with. It's suppose to be 3 Parts/Episodes long. The main Character is obviously Clementine, but it also focuses heavily on a new Male character with a similar upbringing to Clem; Chester. Chester, is 14 years old during this time (Just a few months away from 15). He has blue eyes, and dark brown hair in a mushroom cut. He is tough as nails like Clem, he's a fighter like Jesus, and is a decent guy like Luke. He carries a crossbow, a Machete, and a revolver on him. His father died in a war before the apocalypse started, so his mother and younger sister (Age 9 at Present) was all he had left at this point.
Just over a year ago, during a raid by bandits, Chester was knocked out and his older brother (who had been his mentor since the Outbreak) was mortally wounded. Chester was rescued thereafter by his mom and younger sister in a truck. As soon as he woke up, however, Chester insisted on going back. But by the time he found his brother...it was too late. In a situation similar to the Easter Egg ending of ANF, It was rainy and Chester had no choice but to put his brother down after he had turned. Since then, Chester has had to step up in order to save what was left of his family.
First, we get a flashback to the day when Chester and his family learns about his father's death out in the field of battle to save his fellow servicemen.
Present Day: Clem is just arriving at the Mc Carroll ranch that Dr. Lingard mentioned. Before entering, she comes across two guys guarding the front gate, currently speaking to woman who is complaining that her people were starving. One of them is Chester. Chester is hesitant to let Clem in at first, but once he finds out that she's looking for AJ and that Lingard sent her, he willingly guides her in without an issue, leaving the older woman pissed off.
On the way to the house, Chester mentions to Clem how his own mother put HIM in charge of looking after AJ as soon as Lingard dropped him off. He also says that looking after AJ "Has been quite the learning experience..." and "One hell of a job..." To this, Clem can say one of three things or just stay quiet:
- I hope he wasn't too much trouble for you.
Response: Hey. No worries. - Thanks for looking after him. I Appreciate it.
Response: No problem. (Chester Noticed That.) - Raising a kid is never easy. Just ask my friend Javi.
Response: Yea. I agree. (Chester Will Remember That.)
Chester then delicately asks about AJ's REAL parents and states that Clem seems "A little bit young to be a mom. No offence." To this, Clem can either stay quiet or:
- You're one to talk. A security guard at your age? Come on.
Response: Smart Ass. - His parents Died a long time ago. I'm all he's got now.
Response: Oh...I'm sorry Clem. I didn't mean to-.
Clem: Don't worry about it. It's fine.
(Chester will Remember that.) - It's a long story. Tell you later.
Response: If you say so.
After that. Chester has Clem wait outside while he goes to get AJ. In the meantime, we enter a hub area near the house. Clem has the option to help Chester's mom get a fire going to cook some food. In order to progress, Clem has to teach Chester's little sister how to properly aim and fire a pistol. Once that's done. Chester comes over from behind holding AJ. At first, AJ doesn't fully recognise Clem (Supposedly because of the New Haircut.) But then she hums a tune, and then he says "Clem." At that point Clem has the option to either stick around for awhile and eat some dinner before leaving, or leave now. If she chooses to stick around. They all sit down for a minute and have a short conversion.
Regardless, Before they can eat, or Clem can leave, bandits show up at the front gate. Their leader is someone that Clem seems to recognize. Because of this, She is genuinely scared for her life. For a moment Clem loses track of AJ. Depending on player choice, Clem can either look for AJ and meet up with Chester, or help hold off the bandits so Chester can go after him on his own. Regardless of what Clem chooses, AJ is safe, but Chester is unable to save his Mom as the ranch is burned to the ground. End of First Half of Part 1.
Comments
Small problem, A DLC is a cheap and horrible way to wrap up Clem's story.
Regardless, sounds more like a fanfiction than suggestions/ hypothesizing what comes next for Clem.
It wouldn't necessarily End Clem's Story, so much as it would Tie Up Loose Ends left from the Finale.
A little of both actually.
Tbh I would dislike Chester. He's overloaded with good character traits and from appearance he's Carl. Make him more unique and add something that doesn't make him Mr. super awesome cool funny badass guy. Why you want to focus on him? What's the development of him in this story?
To be fair, this is only the first half of the first part. After his Mother dies, Chester becomes emotionally distraught, sort of like how Gabe dealt with Mariana's death. Of course Chester is more levelheaded when it comes to this sort of thing than Gabe is, which isn't surprising given his upbringing. He already had a rough time coming to terms with his older brother's death the previous year. Since then, he's had to step up to look after his loved ones that remained.
