And bonus I even haven't got the "crush" sentence during the hair cut !

Even the useless and dangerous Ben I saved him as long I could ! Sarah too

But gabe sucks in every possible way.

    • Acting like Javi telling the truth about her murder was some big betrayal.
    • Tries to act like David is a mass murderer just because he kicked her out for robbing his group.
    • Tries to let David die for the same reason (at least Gabe didn't go this far).
    • Will complain at Javi for shooting Joan despite her implying she didn't want to take the deal.
    • And then if you take the deal she starts complaining at you anyway.
    • Will never stfu about David like we get you don't like him now shut up about it.
    • Then in ep 5s she does a 180 and decides she likes David.

When was she whiny in S3?

  • It's because he acts like a whiny petulant teenager.

Now in the real world, that'd be okay. He'd get to grow out of it at his own pace and become a positive member of society.

But it isn't the real world, it's the zombie apocalypse. After four years and the horrors he must have seen during that time, Gabe still behaves like he's been grounded and not allowed to go out with his friends. The seriousness of the situation seems to fly completely over his head.

    • Well to her, she views it has she saved him from his imprisonment, the least he could do is back her up. I'm not defending Clem's actions of murder, but I will say her reaction is a bit justified.
    • David also completely gave up on taking care of AJ, said they should have left him in the woods a long time ago, and then needlessly takes him away from Clem for no reason. AJ was literally the only person left Clem cared about, she did view herself as a mother towards AJ, and to have your own child ripped from your hands when all you tried to do was help him is reason enough to hate the person's guts. She never said David was a mass murderer, she just said that he wasn't a good guy, which to her, makes complete sense.
    • Again, she thinks David killed AJ, her treatment towards him is justified. He didn't care what happened to AJ, so why should she care what happens to him. What do you mean Gabe didn't go this far? In Episode 4, he talks about how he wants to save his dad and how he'll go to any lengths, which he probably believed would end up killing people.
    • I do not remember Clem ever saying not to take the deal, but considering how Clint was literally giving them a way out and Javi chose the more violent route, yeah, I'd complain too.
    • No, she complains about David, who held Clint at gunpoint, saying how she knew he'd screw this up, which he did.
    • It depends on who you went with in your Season 2 ending. Some have her see David's understanding in giving AJ away to a place that could take better care of him, others have her not agreeing with him, but in none of them does she actually like David, she still holds some, or in some cases, a lot, hostile feelings toward him and (again, depending on your ending choice) will shoot David to stop attacking Javi.

  • We don't know that because we never saw anything that happened in the 4 or so years that passed between the start of the apocalypse and the present day, except for a small flashback 3 months into it all. For all we know, he could have made numerous mistakes (which is highly likely) and still didn't do a damn thing to learn from them. But even if what you said were the case, that again shows Gabe spent the entire time being sheltered and unwilling to step up, while Clem was taught at a very early age. So again, her falling head over heels for someone who is the direct opposite of her and is incredibly helpless is out of character and dangerous for Clementine.

but Gabe, when he was her age, didn't kill anybody off until the start of season 3 he didn't do any mistakes so he didn't learn anything well after he killed Kate and David and lots of people too

  • he isn't dangerous he just has to learn

its called love at first sight

Which is an overplayed literary trope that does not exist in the real world. A crush is one thing, crushes are short lived and start for the stupidest of reasons, and in this sense, it's sort of understandable. I've had crushes on people, but that's all they ever were, crushes, and they went away as quickly as they started. But to actually insinuate Clem had romantic feelings and was "in love" with Gabe makes no sense. Love is not instantaneous, it is something that develops and progresses over time, that is why I don't buy into the "love at first sight" bullshit. And again, we never saw this develop and progress over time, we barely even saw it, period. There's nothing of substance there to justify this being anything more than a stupid crush, not two characters that deeply care about one another in a romantic way.

well that what happens when you like some its called love at first sight

  • We're 4 fucking years into the apocalypse, how have you not learned what to do and what not to do by now, like don't charge out of your hiding spot to attack a man who doesn't even know you're there. So long as he makes decisions like this, he will be a danger. And of course he can learn, and hell, that should have been a much more major subplot of the season that could have actually worked to benefit Clem and Gabe's relationship (whether it be romantic or platonic). Have Clem be a sort of teacher for Gabe, have them bond, interact, and learn to understand each other this way. Give the player control of Clem in this regard, have her teach Gabe everything she's learned from Lee, Christa, Kenny, Jane, Luke, etc., that would have been great for both characters and would have done so much to make their relationship far more believable and genuine. We never got this, and Gabe ends up being the same screw up at the end as he was in the beginning, and the reason he died is because, you guessed it, his own stupid decisions. He admitted his dad was dangerous and that he should listen to Javi more, then he decides to go with David because he is his dad.

he isn't dangerous he just has to learn

And now, BOI, never knew y'all have this sick obsession about Gabe so much :D

Sarah and Ben are better than gabeshit

  • This. Though I like all three, it's for different reasons because of that.

    they're all different lmao

  • Because at first he's an easy target, then he was eventually provided reasons to be legitimately angry with him. Though there were particularly petty reasons people were mad about throughout. I'd go into more detail, but I don't feel like it at the moment.

I think a better question to make a thread on is why did people hate Kate so much?

  • Oh. Sorry, I misunderstood your previous commets...

Yep, Gaby deserves a little more love.

well as some people are kinda attacking me at this point your the only one who didn't which I truly appreciate

  • People dislike Gabe because he was still so immature when something like an apocalypse would usually change the age of maturity. Also I kind of see myself as Clems guardian and I am overprotective making me dislike Gabe because he would flirt with Clem. I began to like him later though.

  • i don't really get it either because gabe is just written like an ordinary teenager despite being in the apocalypse, but only because kate and javi kept him so sheltered in the van and he didn't really have to face a lot of hardship or lose so many loved ones, unlike clementine. he's also just trying to prove himself to everyone and doesn't want to be treated like a kid anymore and he clearly only has good intentions, he just wants to protect the people he cares about and be a contribution to the survival of him and his group. yes, he may have fucked up with javi getting stabbed and going off with david, but he's truly just trying to prove himself to be strong and even said himself he went with david to convince him to come back. i personally love how him and his character is written, and i can really relate with him and his personality, which is why he's my second favorite character from anf. so, i can't really see why people hate him either but that's probably my own bias getting in the way?

  • he didn't want to take any chances

We're 4 fucking years into the apocalypse, how have you not learned what to do and what not to do by now, like don't charge out of your hidi

  • He's really just a super annoying kid. He's just like Ben (arguably worse) but the difference being that Ben was annoying/useless/lacked responsibility/always complaining in the first few months, not 4 years. Yes Gabe is younger, and it's pretty much Javi and Kate's fault for sheltering him. But the kid is really out of place with how ridiculous he is. I can understand some of the screw ups but the whining is over the top. I know he's sort of supposed to contrast Clementine, but it's too extreme. If they made his personality even slightly endearing with funny lines or sweet moments, he would probably not be hated nearly as much. I know they were going for realistic teen mood swings but he's so oblivious and straight dumb about the concept of the apocalypse that it's really just hard to justify. Plus like I said, he's annoying af. His voice and everything. Do I hate him? No. But he is pretty one dimensional. He needed more personality than whiny brat.

  • I can see why the tc likes gabe so much. Whiny bitches gotta stick together.

  • Your responses to people who give you quite a few reasons for their hatred towards Gabe: "That's a good point but oh, come on...!"

    • She doesn't outright say it but she heavily implies David is the one behind the attacks on the commuitys despite her having zero evidence that he would do such a thing.
    • Why would she think David killed AJ? and if he did it would've been if AJ turned into a walker this hardly justify smiling if Javi leaves him to die.
    • And it's a common misconstetion David didn't help AJ he did but Clementine decided to give AJ extra medicine (despite the doctor being completely against it.
    • And during the "deal" choice Gabe says "She think shes sending us to die out there" and then Clementine says "Shes counting on it" showing she clearly is completely against the deal then complains anyway.
    • And he liking David very suddenly was weird af considering at the end of ep 4 she still whining about him not taking the deal then is suddenly his biggest fan, it made no sense at all.

Its sad that people can't even remember the right person who thanks to him clem is a survivor today.

    • Zero evidence? These were his guys. Badger, Max, Lonnie, they follow his orders, so of course she would think that he is the person behind it. For Gods sake, even most players, after it was revealed David was alive, probably thought it was him.
    • Because he said there was no hope for him and refused to help him, not really a giant leap of the imagination that she'd think AJ is dead. Last I checked, not treating a baby with an illness might cause the baby to die, considering their weaker immune systems. And again, David said there was no hope, he could have just killed him right there so he wouldn't be a waste of resources or people's time.
    • Clem literally says he stopped trying to help AJ. In the beginning, yes, he tried to help, but then he stopped because it didn't seem like he was getting any better. It wasn't extra medicine, it was putting him back on it.
    • That in absolutely no way indicates she is against the plan. She's in agreement with Gabe that they think, if they go with the plan, they'll die anyway, but don't know that they have a means of escape. So again, she never said anything about not taking the deal.
    • I repeat my lastpoint from the previous comment: she doesn't like David, she either shows some or no understanding behind his decision on AJ, but that doesn't mean she forgives or even likes him now.
