Choices could matter alot in season 4.

The reason for this is because this will be the last season so they can do whatever they please without having to worry about incorporating a determinant character into another season hell they can even bring Kenny back from the wellington ending if they want to or make the cast of season 4 be all determinants including Clem since they wont have to worry for another season and the handlement of those determinants meaning that this season probably has the most potential out of all of the TWD Seasons.
Since this will be the Last TWD storyline then they may as well put everything in their power to make choices matter maybe even have characters not even get introduced at all if a choice is not made to go to the area where that character would pop up there are several possibilities since this is the final season and i hope telltale doesnt waste them.

  • This is actually a good point.

  • This makes sense but the question is that does telltale have the same logic?

  • Kenny is not coming back. Wellington enders made a choice to leave him behind. Bringing him back for those players would be the ultimate "f*** you" to the loyal players who stayed with him.

  • But it also gives a bit of replayability and shows that you doing what you think seems right might not be right at all if that makes sense. I'm sorry if you're confused

  • Yeah, doing something doesn't mean it'll stay like that forever. It would be a cool butterfly effect if you ask me. I would sure as shit replay S2 to see Kenny again. (as my nickname implies, Kenny is love, Kenny is life)

  • In theory that is a really good idea. With that said I'm not sure if telltale will do that and second even though it's being called the "last" season it is a very good possibility there will be more seasons in the distant future.

  • That would be the smart and logical way to go about season 4, but I think TellTale will play it safe. They say that this is the last season, but several years down the line they could change their mind. Most companies don't want to put a definite end on something they could always go back to which is why we can get story where [SPOILERS FOR AN UNRELATED LIVE-ACTION SHOW] a serial killer that turns into a lumberjack at the end...

  • This is exactly why I am excited about the next season. Even if it's not as extreme as Kenny reappearing in games he didn't die in (Wellington/alone, not killing him), they have a lot of potential to give us a variety of endings.

Season 2 had a good variety of endings but we all knew it was going to end up in the same place for Season 3. Now, if an ending has her joining a settlement, we know she's found a home. If she leaves to travel with a crew, they'll live a while (at least compared to her previous crews). I suspect taking AJ and leaving him with his new family will be a choice and a big impact.

I'm just worried that they will kill her off to "complete" her story. I could take it, but I predict it will inevitability be compared to Lee's death and fair poorly. Especially, if she dies protecting AJ.

I'm not concerned with characters dying. I was more than fine with my hero in a certain space epic biting the dust.

It's just that I think Season 4's true potential is in giving us all kinds of endings where we can feel our choices actually made a difference. I hope TellTale realizes this and goes balls to the walls with it.

  • Saying that choices will matter because it's the last season doesn't sound like good writing. Your choices should be carrying over properly from previous seasons. ANF is a sham because they failed to bridge those choices from Season 2 in a meaningful way.

The only thing Season 4 is going to give us from the previous seasons in one or two dialogue changes like ANF did; The date they want to release Season 4 clearly shows they want to rush it out. They still aren't listening and taking their time.

They can make this as diverse as they want to, it's already screwed. Every single season kills off or forgets its cast. Season 1 killed most of the original group, Season 2 killed all of the Cabin group, and ANF just put us in the hands of Javier into this new community that I am almost 100% sure we won't ever see again (since it's continuing from Clementine's story).

There really is no carrying over. That's what disappoints me. You can't keep those relationships going, you have to keep refreshing a different cast and that really sucks.
