I think "The Final Season" isn't really "Final"

I get that every story eventually has to end. But let's not forget this is the walking dead. Every other "form" of the walking dead franchise insists of the tv show, the comics, the novels, hell even their fucking mobile apps look like their is no sign of stopping at all. In fact, if this truly were to be "the final season" it would be the first "form" of the walking dead to stop. Their is no way telltales gonna NEVER make another walking dead game, you can continue to say "ohhhhh but ANF was trash Teltales TWD is dieing!" All you want but it was and still is telltales best selling series and ANF actually got pretty good reviews and sold very well for a telltale game. I'm 99% sure telltale is gonna make another TWD game it would be completely stupid just from a business standpoint to not continue it. Now I have no idea what the next telltale TWD game would be after season 4, clementine could die and u could play as Aj or it might be a whole new story with completely different characters I have no fucking clue but just trust me when I say season 4 is not telltales last TWD game.

Yeah, that doesn't sound terrible at all.

  • I can't see it involving Clementine, though. It'll likely be a new cast.

What do people think about the idea of the lead protagonist being a boy similar to Clem's age? I'm down for that, TBH.

  • That was just a suggestion. I'm terrible at theories tbh. It could be a whole new cast who knows I'm just saying it's not telltales last TWD game.

  • It's pretty much a given that s4 will bring closure to Clementine's story thus allowing Telltale to show other new stories as well as characters we haven't seen in a long time.

I think it's a good thing. Clementine deserves a reasonable character arc with a beginning middle and end, not to have hers arcs rehashed every season just for the sake of having her. Now we can also get cool new tales without her overshadowing them like she did to the Garcia's.

  • Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Telltale actually takes that route you suggested.

  • I cant see it being about Clementine either. Haters can hate but I could see us playing as AJ but idk I'm probably wrong but it doesn't really matter because that's not what I'm trying to prove in this forum anyway.

    Melts?

That would explain why they can't handle criticism. They melt of anger.

These are the same people who thought releasing """Season 3""" earlier, without having a main story would end up being good, thank you Melissa for that info.

  • ANF actually got pretty good reviews and sold very well for a telltale game.

That's because the critics are not true Walking Dead fans. Also, ANF is the least sold TWD game.

I don't see any more ideas for the next TWD installments. Game used too much time skip and it's in the same time with Comic Book timeline. I'd rather have it end instead of being milked.

  • Yea I also think season 4 will be Clementines last season.

  • Well actually every telltale game isn't selling as well as they used to be. And (I don't mean this offensively) telltale doesn't really care if it's getting milked as long as it's getting good reviews and people are still buying the games they couldn't care less.

  • I had that thought too.

That by "final" they mean wrapping up Clementines story with the potential for more, wether it be unrelated or following and getting closure for other characters like the 400 days characters (who I'd love to see get an actual story, especially Vince, Eddie and Nate) since only Bonnie got any screen time after 400 Days.

  • ...you do realize that is a different franchise by a different company of people? You can't say that this isn't the final season of walking dead, because this other irrelevant company series is still going

  • They might make a spin off version of the game, kinda like Fear the Walking Dead, with a new cast set far ahead in the future of the apocalypse.

It's the Final Season for Clementine's story, not Telltale's TWD as a whole. They can still make more Walking Dead games, such as more mini-series or continuing with Javier's story, just not Clementine's story.

In a recent interview, I think Job said The Final Season isn't the final season of Telltale's Walking Dead, it's the last one for Clementine.

    Are you justifying this shit?

No, they are not fans because they forgot what made Season 1 so successful.

  • I don't look to GQ for video game reviews. Isn't it a men's fashion magazine?

  • No but it is the walking dead franshise and we all know that TWD is a franshise that doesn't just end series lightly. in fact they havent actually ever ended a series. And I'm pretty sure telltale wouldn't just end their bestselling series because they think it's "the right thing to do" and I'm also pretty sure skybound and Kirkman doesn't want telltale to stop either because its raking in money. It would simply make no sense from a business standpoint to stop. And Kirkman and skybounds past with how they handle TWD just supports my statement even more.

  • They did say they'd want to work with Skybound for many years so this isn't really far fetched. It could be just Clem's final journey but who knows.

  • IGN always had terrible reviewers. Episode 1,2 and 5 got the good reviews when they're actually the worst episodes and episode 3 and 4 got the worst ones.

Don't forget the fact that IGN gave Alien Isolation 5.9/10 for being too hard when they're the ones who chose to play on hard. Just how can someone take them so seriously?

  • I think they're gonna have a new cast.

  • I think Telltale's ending it off at season 4 to make way for Overkill's TWD, or, their ending it early so that it isn't dragged out.

  • Clementine is the sole reason for The Walking Dead's sales. Had they scrapped Clementine from A New Frontier all we'd have is a stale character's piece of shit story.

  • Let's hope. TWD is a bit tapped out. I don't know about the comics, but the TV show stopped being good about four or five seasons ago and has been gasping along like person with COPD ever since. People with COPD should be helped, but the TV show should probably be put down. Once or twice a season there's a good episode but boy do you have to (and I'm not entirely sure why I do) slog through some garbage to get there.

Skybound Cancelled Telltale's IP for TWD after this Season. That's why it's Final. The only way we would get more TWD is Post-Story DLC Content.

  • what does "IP" stand for and where did you get this information? I wanna look in on it.

  • Like I said, it's really out there, but basically since Gabe's voice actor is a 16 year old, I figured that Telltale decided to make the majority of the cast teenagers, so they could pay some teens living around the area to help voice for The Final Season, seeing as how Telltale isn't doing very well financially.
