Its because it did not feel like a part of the story, the writing was not as good as the first 2 seasons and the ep lengths were very short compared to the first 2 seasons.... I mean dont get me wrong i liked a new frontier but i think season 1 and 2 were better
I don’t see why there is so much hate on season 3.
Because a large number of people around here wanted and were expecting Clementine… more to be the central character, only to find out Javi was. Combining that with the crappy season 2 flashbacks with Kenny and Jane, alot of people here became really damn salty towards the game and at TElltale, to the point where many just bash the game left and right, and thus have a strong bias about this season and its new characters.
I'm nitpicking the shit out of people who love Season 3.
No you're not. You and many others have been antagonizing people that liked the game. Stop trying to deny it, we see right through it.
I think it was perfect at what it did, it didn't completely continue the story but we got to see where she went and how it developed, we also got to see she wasn't alone. I think playing as her with the same story wouldn't have been as interesting. But I really do get your points and i'm sure with whatever they do with the story it'll be amazing and emotional!
I think it deserves the hate due to the fact that it's made for the new players instead of continuing Clementine's story. I hope Season 4 will defy my expectations though. If you love ANF, then you have my respect.
Because a large number of people around here wanted and were expecting Clementine to be the central character, only to find out Javi was.
That wasn't the problem for me. It's just that they made Clementine, a major character in the series, a side character this season. It's like Rick being a side character next season on the show and having Morgan be the main character.
have a strong bias about this season and its new characters.
That's because the new characters this season are easily forgettable. The only ones people will remember are Javier and Conrad, and that's because he can live throughout the whole game. I guess you can say Gabe too, but that's because of the whole 'Gabentine' bullshit which is another problem with this season. Ava, Tripp, Eleanor, Kate...all are gonna be forgotten characters next season. The Motel & cabin group are more rememberable because they actually had character and were very important to the story.

Yeah, you're right Rick's voice has this feel to it that isn't replaceable but when Javier screams you can hear the emotion and it reminds me of Rick. his choices kind of reflect some of the things that Rick would do (except for it's completely optional for the players to choose)
I actually agree with you and think the start of this one wasn't as good as the car crash scene, this one felt like it was trying to hard to be like a movie.
But I think during the junkyard it already had the ball rolling.
However looking back at season 1 I actually do miss being able to take a breath and just enjoy the game. but I still found it interesting to have a lot of action (because those were usually the results of a better episode in the show) except for after glen I needed a rest hah.
keep in mind, I play this game with family and friends around so they can get interested in the story (the second game worked) same with this one, I mean the first game worked also I can't lie all of them kept everybody's interest but this one was the most mind blowing at parts..
in regards the ending of the first season is also unbeatable so.
maybe it's because I just need to reply through them all again one last time.
I'm a big fan of the show too, but I think S1 is still the best season. Javier's voice reminds you of Rick's? Rick's voice is a lot deeper t… morehan his.
his choices are already good and intense at the start.
Which start? Putting down Javi's Papa or at the junkyard? I honestly think Lee getting in that car crash was a better start.
I saw your comment about disliking S1 about slow gameplay and that's fine. I kinda get why you think that, but the problem I had with ANF was because the gameplay was too fast. There was action every 5 seconds while S1 had time to build up a action sequence, which led to some of the best in the game's series.
I don’t see why there is so much hate on season 3.

also a fair point.. I wonder if they actually are impacting everything since season one and TellTale pulls a holy shit moment and makes it all matter in the final game.

When are you going to … morerealise that this is not the only major problem?
Combining that with the crappy season 2 flashbacks with Kenny and Jane, alot of people here became really damn salty towards the game and at TElltale
Because:
* This game has in development since July 2014.
* They said Season 2 Endings will have a big impact in Season 3 and they never did.
but we had plenty of moments that continued Clem's adventure through growing up, I mean without this game she would still be the little girl from season 2 so I don't really get the part of the story aspect. but everything else i understand.

"Ow, my vagina hurts."
"Hey, my shoulder has a knife in it and it's bleeding...so..."
"What? Ow, my cramps..."
"Hey, will you guys … morekill me already? I don't have anything else to do in this mess."
"Ow, it still hurts."
Yep, that's some great writing. Good job Telltale...ANF is definitely something to be proud of.

I respect your opinion, i may have my issues with ANF but i still enjoyed it, i liked playing as Javier, he is a really cool character and i also enjoyed a few aspects of the story. I think that in some ways ANF is better than season 2.
One problem that most people have with ANF that I dont think expressed enough is, regardless of whether you liked ANF's story or not, telltales' walking dead games are and have always been about Clementine since season 1. The walking dead games are Clementine's story and ANF broke that progression by making Clementine, a character that if removed, have little to no affect on the story.

But that's how they played it clever, this game wasn't really needed. but instead of making a game ALL about Clementine growing up in time for season 4 they made this game and just time skipped so we would already be use to it.
Now clem's 13 and they made an entire game about her (A FINAL ONE) may I remind you..

I personally enjoyed the season myself, but I acknowledge that it's not exactly the strongest in the series. These are most of the reasons people hate it that I tend to hear around these forums the most.
-Not liking any of the new characters.
-Clementine not being the focus
-Clementine feeling utterly pointless in the story
-Feeling less like a continuation of the previous two games and more like just a spinoff that happens to feature Clementine.
-The way the Season 2 endings were handled.
-Too much action and not enough character development and/or world building
"Ow, my vagina hurts."

ANF is my favourite too! It's funny because at the time when ep 3 came out I was still so disappointed and angry about all it's faults (that have been discussed here enough). But when I was waiting the rest of the season I kept replaying them and somewhere along the way fell in love with the new characters and their relationships, especially Javi and David. And after it was over the good things overshadowed the bad things, I was surprised how it completely turned around for me and became my favourite. No characters from previous seasons have affected me the same way, I got really attached to them.
People bashing other people for their different opinions is ridiculous btw.
No offense, but from what I've managed to gather, ANF seems to appeal to the younger viewers more than it does to older people. It's just the belief of mine.
I’m actually not old enough to be playing these games lol I’m only fifteen, no point in lying. Don’t get me wrong though I liked every season. just season 3 appealed to me a tad bit more then the others
A bold one to say the least. At least there are people that did like this season, I too enjoyed it but it definitely has its obvious flaws. Prob not gonna state them since a million more comments on this thread will tell you why your opinion is wrong but I'm just going to say here is that if you truly loved this season then continue to praise it, don't let others tell you what you should like or don't like.
(man i think i just said that because im still in a state of euphoria or some shit...)

Its clever that they made a game that wasn't needed? and only exists for the time skip making clem older?
Clem's age is mostly irrelevant. If anything younger Clem is better (just my opinion). It allows for a more interesting dynamic (kid vs adults vs zombies).
No they havent made season 4 yet. Yes it will be about her, that isn't revolutionary. The first two games were about her.
"they're planning something big" boy you're indoctrinated. The point I was making about ANF breaking the progression is that since telltale tossed out any potential throwbacks two the first two seasons, there wont be anything finale about the last season except that it will be ending Clems story. Everything that was built up in the first two seasons was torn down by telltale and ANF.

they're planning something.. something big.
It only makes sense that a person of younger age has less experience and less knowledge of game writing, so they can play nearly any game and fail to see what is wrong with it, allowing them to enjoy it.
Maybe not invalidate but more to understand the person. And where they are coming from.
Age can transform your perspective you use to have on some things or even limit it yet while others can see beyond your current understanding. The brain doesn't completely mature until around mid twenties so I can see why a person would have their perspective on some things based on their age. Like a 10 year old 30 year old and 70 year old would likely have very different states of mind.
Sometimes we look back on games or dress styles from way back and think. Wow that was so stupid or looked Goofy but at the younger time back in that day it was the coolest thing of year.
I use to think Power Rangers and Sesame Street was the best shows ever. Now I guess you can tell what age I might of been when I had that perspective versus now with a more open and developed mind compared to then.

Terrible deaths - characters just bite the dust with no character dev and then are just forgotten 2 seconds after they die or are just forgotten over all (Joan, Clint, Max, Lonnie...) or huge characters (Kenny and Jane) killed like unnamed background characters
Characters with motive that keep changing (Kate and David with their 180 degree turn about how they feel about Richmond, Gabe non stop changing about how he feels about his dad, Eleanor randomly selling out Javi and Crew, ect)
Clem having almost no screentime or any real reason to even appear in this season
Clem flashbacks being horribly done (S2 endings not having a single impact, plus every choice in the flashbacks make no difference such as: Joining New Frontier with Ava and giving Aj the medicine)
Way to many "jumping the shark" moments like the whole helicopter sequence in episode 5, shit that really doesnt make sense for it to be a scene
The whole Clem X Gabe plus Gabe just being so unlikable
And minor and not for the story part, there was so many times that walkers just looked disgusting ( and not in the good way youd want them to) youd see low poly walkers, walkers that look incomplete and sometimes see heards of walkers that just look like DOOM sprites.

well from season 1-3 all your choices affect your clem's personality and im pretty sure they are gonna effect you on season 4
LMAO
Thats another thing people complain about to big time jumps i mean omid dies and it just skips 16 months just like that
It's so it doesn't drag on, slow pace would destroy the game like it does the show.
fair enough

I don't think it was as bad as everyone says, but it definitely has its flaws. I didn't like Clementine's role.
Well I guess you know what they say?

It's always weird when people bring up age trying to invalidate others. Anyway, I agree with you too.
What's the matter? Can't handle my snarky sarcasm?
Learn to take a joke.
I do think that ANF gets too much hate but it isn't my favourite season, I'd say that will always be Season One.
