Just a short question

Does anyone else feel like as the seasons move on, there's less and less of a focus on the walkers and more and more of a focus on conflicts between humans? I hope the walkers are more of a focus in the final season like they were in the first because they seem nonexistent or like they're not really much of a threat compared to season 1 when you think about who they killed and how many times you had to fight, run away or hide from, etc. them.

  • I actually like the idea of humans being more of a threat than the walkers. Yeah walkers are dangerous and cool, but It'll get boring very easiy considering how slow they move and how easy it is to take them down.

With human conflict, it creates drama and much more suspense than walkers. It shows peoples' true colors if society ever stopped and the world is ending.

  • Yeah, ik this series would be boring without conflict between humans and even incredibly unrealistic. I just want there to be more of a balance.

  • "Fight the dead, fear the living" seems to be the obvious theme in anything TWD related; though I feel like the game got knocked off balance and right know focuses too much on quickly made relationships and conspirations. As the whole point of walkers is the very reason this apocalypse started, I hope it will get back on track. The concept of dead marching is still terrifying af and if you use it properly, it can work be even more interesting than human "bang bang" conflicts.

  • I agree!

In season 1 everybody was new to the walkers and hadn't yet evolved to live in the apocalypse so they were a much bigger threat.

In the last 2 seasons the people who are alive are alive because they have hardened and learned to deal with walkers. So the walkers are treated more as a dangerous force of nature they are slow and easy to outsmart only dangerous to a skilled survivor if in a large group.

What I like about walking dead is the fact the the walkers aren't even the main problem anymore, it shows humanity at its worst. While the survivng people have hardened and adapted to the new world around them many have been affected psychologically so there are a lot more messed up creepy people. In this spin off of a a zombie apocalypse if all humans weren't so divided they would be able to take the world back from the walkers. But instead are fighting over resources, full of pschopathic groups, and groups like the Saviors and the New Frontier who are willing to be incredibly violent to maintain an edge over other settlements. So the true danger of the apocalypse are humans the walkers aren't as dangerous as the chaos they have cause amongst the humans.

  • It's because they know how to deal with walkers. The walkers are easy to take care of, it'd be boring if there was no drama and only walkers. The people are more dangerous so the games will focus on people. When have you actually saw drama in any apocolypse where they deal with zombies only.

  • Yeah, I thought about how the series must have continued the way it did since it's been about a year and a half in S2 and 5 years in ANF since the apocalypse started and people must be used to dealing with them and know how to avoid life-threatening encounters when possible for the most part. I just miss the balance between focus on walkers and on conflicts between people. I'll get used to it in the final season hopefully.

Btw, I just started using this site 2 days ago and this issue with notifications is really getting annoying. I check the box to follow this discussion to get updated on comments and likes and don't get notified in my email, so I have to check on this discussion from time to time and it's gonna become a big problem if I ever decide to really get into posting on here. You ever had this issue?
