(season 2) What did yall' think of Rebecca?

I'd like to hear your thoughts. After two episodes of bitchiness and complaining, she randomly starts being nice to you for some reason. Did yall' eventually like her or not?

Oh, and here's a video I made. lmao

  • Obviously I didn't hold her bitchiness against her, she was pregnant for christ's sake.

  • Episode 1: Wow, she's a b****.
Episode 2: Dangit, I was mean to a rape victim :/
Episode 4: (sarcasm) Oh no, she's dead, I did not see that one coming....

  • I'm rather neutral towards her, and it's mainly because how I wasn't overly keen on how her overly antagonistic behaviour towards Clementine in Episode 1 was completely glossed over, and her flimsy apology and lack of acknowledgement of said behaviour didn't help her case.

I get this feeling that Telltale had probably realized that she was made far too unlikable during her introduction, to the point where even Larry had seem kinder in comparison, panicked, and decided to pretend that Clementine and Rebecca were always in good terms since they've met.

  • I thought her character shift was a little odd. One minute, she's totally antagonistic towards Clementine then the next, she treats her like family. I guess you could make the argument that it could be pregnancy hormones or something, but it still stuck me as weird.

  • Ditto

  • Probably the only one of the Scrappies who I come the closest to disliking. Here's something I wrote up on her.

  • I don't think it was ever really insinuated that she was raped. It's possible, but I think that she knowingly cheated on Alvin with Carver.

  • Honestly, I wish she remained a bitch. It kept her interesting, but then she just turned around out of nowhere and was like "I like you now lmao". That made her just another boring cabin survivor.

  • Actually, it was for one episode and two scenes in the following one before she apologizes and then just shifts into nicer mode for the rest of the game.

  • While we're one the subject, here's a question for ya'll: how would you have handled Rebecca's interaction with Clementine, particularly where the mistrust/animosity is concerned?

  • I ended up liking her because she was just a scared pregnant woman and she actually seemed to appreciate Kenny and what he did for the group.

    What he really means. :joy:

  • Yeah. If she was raped, I don't think she would have been so concerned about him knowing. It takes a special kind of bastard to get mad at his wife for getting raped, and there was nothing to suggest that Alvin was that kind of person.

  • And also because she was a scared pregnant woman who needed help :)

  • I liked her. While the shift in her attitude seemed sudden, it wasn't too bad. Though I do wish they would have waited until the five days passed to have her apologize. Regardless, it still made some sense. Clem was more or less made part of the group after Carver's visit. Might as well try to get along.

Oh. And she was nowhere near as bad as Larry. She didn't try to murder Clem immediately after she saved her life like Larry did to Lee. Honestly, I can take him being an asshole. But that was what was unforgivable in my eyes.

  • It could've been that thing where she blames herself for allowing it to happen and didn't want to hurt Alvin further by revealing it's likely Carver's baby.

  • I know, I just couldn't let that go without making fun of that point.

    Pretty much.

  • I didnt like her or dislike her. I don't think she served much purpose since the writers decided to kill Carver early on. The role could have just as easily been played by Christa to greater effect and importance. Meaning we would care about AJ beyond obligation. The whole love triangle thing with Rebecca, Carver, and Alvin wasnt explored enough and Carver's literal and supposed emotional attachment to AJ was underutilised.
