  • Eh, maybe not. After all, aging her up meant giving her the ability to more realistically pull off certain things and engage in certain otherwise OOC behaviors. However, it's somewhat clear that perhaps even that wasn't enough since they've semi-consistently put more focus on other characters.

Probably because they've lost much passion and interest in it or at least Clementine over the years. Do you think they regret aging her up?

  • But there's the thing. If they wanted to age her up to make those things (first thing comes to mind is always kicking down that silly door) more realistic why the fuck was she not the main character? Makes no damn sense.

Because they presumably still became/remained disinterested and/or thought it'd be easier to have other characters drive the story.

    I'm sure it happens sometimes.

  • I hope Telltale sees this post. THIS IS FEEDBACK TELLTALE please take it into consideration also go ALL OUT IN THE FINAL SEASON!!!!! No another A New Frontier 2.0 :|

  • If it makes you feel better, the first episode of each series is usually the longest and has the most detail. Batman s2e1 was 2.5 hours compared to 1 hour for s2e4. They just want players to buy the season pass and then the quality goes downhill.

  • I think ANF wasn't called "Season 3" exactly because it simply was not... Season 3. Telltale's TWD is Clementine's story and it felt more like a bit of a spin off where Clementine appears and you learn some about it. I enjoyed it but I definitely thought it was short, but I liked it nonetheless. One problem with TT's games is probably that different writers are used for almost each episode.

Imagine if Kirkman wrote a few volumes of TWD, then GRRM takes over for a few volumes, then back to Kirkman, then onto someone else. That'd make the whole thing really confusing.

This. But apparently one of the writers for The Final Season said that they know how Clementine story is gonna end. This is reassuring because i had the feeling they didn't know where they were going in season 2,and in A New Frontier they knew exactly what to do with Javier but people were more interested in Clementine.I'm thinking this season is gonna be good.

  • Some stated that the problem with the game is because of the different writers however, that is not really true because the ending of the story is what is worked on first and then the path of how to reach that ending is created. I think the only reason why The New Frontier received bad reviews was because most of the promotional stuff was removed and Clem was made a side character. I do think that as The New Frontier went on it got better, yes it had some flaws but Episode 3 to the finale was great and I enjoyed those episodes the best.

The real question is why are Telltale making The Walking Dead really short

    1. Story was originally much longer but most of it was cut due to budget issues, time issues, and their shitty engine didn't allow them to execute certain ideas. I don't believe the "It didn't feel like a Walking Dead story" for half a goddamn minute. Pathetic excuse.
    2. TWD3 was originally going to premiere in November, not December. The final idea to release 2 one hour episodes a month late instead of one 1 hour episode on time was because if the player played for 2 hours, they were not able to get a refund for the game. If people played the first episode, clocking in at merely 55 minutes, they would have returned it instantly. But since you're pushed to play the next episode right after, telltale could keep the money. Jokes on them I still got a refund.

Lol I don't believe it for a second that Clem's story will truly end. She's a cash cow and will always remain a cash cow.

Now that's where you're technically wrong... It actually was called Season 3 on Steam pre-release and considered as Season 3 by staff members and even some of the trailers (like the ANF Ep5 trailer). A day before the release of the game they removed "(Season 3)" from the name to (I assume) get all the preorders from people who expected a proper continuation - but you can still clearly see it included "(Season 3)" in the title if you look at the game files.

If I remember correctly, in the TT Summer whatever video where they announced the final season, just about everyone referred to ANF as Season 3 as well. The entire approach really seemed like "we want this to be Season 3 so people who've played the first two games won't skip it, but lets not promote or treat it like Season 3 so we don't scare away that new customer."

    And here we are.

  • I'm of the understanding that it started out as "Season 3," but that changed drastically across development with them marking how it transformed it into more of it's own thing by re-titling it "A New Frontier." But they had already released the teaser that was based on one of the earliest premises for the installment and thus still had to include Clementine.

  • Yea I think that Season 3 was scrapped half way during production because they realized something was wrong with the story they were trying to tell. Most of the promotional stuff was scrapped like Clem and Javier in the slaughterhouse and Clem and AJ hiding in a town. I think that after all the that was scrapped TellTale realized it would be better to have Javier's story develop alongside Clem's so they can develop a Season 4.

  • Gary Whitta said during a podcast back in November that he knows how Clementines story will end. He said he wants to do the character of Clementine justice in The Final Season. I can provide a link to the podcast if you wish ?

  • The Final Season is not the definite name for the Final Product. I messaged Alyssa and asked her is it called Season 4 or The Final Season. They only teased it as the Final Season so people would see it is the last time we will get to play as Clementine.

Okay,i guess we'll have to wait and see, thanks.

Glassdoor Reviews. Describing TT as a "Sinking Ship." Honestly, I don't want to believe it, but I'm worried that TT are in worse shape financially than they are letting on.

  • Hm. I suppose that's a matter of output vs input, the latter of which I've been lead to believe isn't really bad--TWDG aside.

  • So how comes Minecraft: Season 2 and Batman: The Enemy Within premiere Episode were around 2 hours and 20 minutes but Telltale didn’t split their Episodes! But they split it for A New Frontier. They do this treatment for TWD but their TWD S1 got Telltale to where they are now so I hope they have learnt from their mistakes from A New Frontier and make The Final Season a great game like Season 1!

  • Maybe they've learned from their mistakes after what happened to A New Frontier so that's why.I was gonna say i don't think Telltale is stupid enough to make the same mistakes but i'm not sure anymore lol.
